Personally I enjoy the larger map. With wings travel is fast and easy, and you don't get that much into land disputes (especially now when we had the blank livemap open early on so possible neighbours could be spotted and resolve any possible looming issues).

That I understand but I'm basing this whole need for a smaller map on the fact that the number one reason players do not stay is that of the serious lack of multiplayer.  As it stands right now a new player could come out of spawn and walk for thousands of blocks before finding more than one house.  It just doesn't make any sense why we have an average of maybe 40 players most nights but have a map size of 9000 x 9000 is truly mad.  I know for a fact it would increase the multiplayer experience tenfold if we started with maybe say a 2500x2500 map or so and expanded it based on demand from there.

  2. Oh okay very cool, maybe we could dive more into specifics like exactly the radius it would be and such. I admittendly didnt see the discussion for it already so my bad.

  3. So I was gonna put in a suggestion but figured an open dialog would be easier but I wanted to gather the player and Padmin thoughts on possibly shrinking the PVE map... like a lot.  I personally find the current map size insane.  That may seem strange cause the map size has basically always been the same but if you really look at the map development on a carto, its barren.  We just don't have the player count to justify a map the size that we have.  So my personal suggestion is to make the map much much smaller for at least the next rev.  In a way forcing players to build closer together and form closer communities.  Some seem to like the idea and some I'm sure will hate it, now please discuss.

  4. Slow day huh? Of all the issues this community has under the rainbow somehow something as trivial as this gets a post?  Anyways I'll say yeah why the hell would you hide ban appeals?  You listed no good points besides "some people get made fun of" if you really even count that as a legitimate reason.  Could we maybe focus on the nerfing of elytra? Just saying...

Just a historical correction; Rev 15 was a collaboration effort among the team, I wasn't strictly alone in building that spawn, so the path of deviance started there. But I'm sure there is probably even further back examples from before my time as well.

Yeah I am 99% sure it was like Thrawn and Devevian and a whole mess of admins (and/or including Barli) who built the magical rev 10 castle.

  6. Making vague accusations hardly is the way to go. If there is an actual issue, you should bring it up in a proper manner. This is only causing drama and making people wonder and rumours start. If an admin truly is abusing their power, first go to the head admins and if you don't get a satisfactory response, then come forth with the hard facts and evidence.

What it comes to a two week waiting time -- what is the need for that if the case is clear? There's no reason to delay action, if the action is rightful. If you think it wasn't a rightful act then proceed as said.

I know you haven't been here long but the instant you throw someone's name out on the mix the heads will delete this topic so I'm not taking that approach. I have evidence if you care to see.

Why wait? Because if you get permission from one region owner to build and then another wants to remove it what's stopping them? That was exactly the case here. Plus the abuse of power. I wouldn't make these accusations out of thin air, and while I'm pretty angry this shit still happens, it would be nice if we could establish a single rule for a certain time period allowed. Also maybe add a written rule that admins can't complete their own admin requests as apparently no one cares if they do or don't.

  7. I understand that rule, it mentions discretion but for builds that took considerable time and effort it's crazy to think there is no limit to "you have 20 days to remove your build". Also it mentions p admins only which doesn't seem to hold true from my observations. All we need is something to say "2 weeks you remove your build or the p admins will"

  8. Perhaps I made it a bit confusing by throwing in the private messages issue. Bottom line is we need an amount of time someone should be allowed to remove their build before P admins do it. Not admins completing their own requests because they're upset. We trust these people with our money to keep the game running smoothly, well that doesn't work when any admin on a bender can destroy an entire build with no warning to the owner and for it to be allowed.

  9. No it's not pointless. This happened this week and the admins have said it's not a big deal. I wanted some concrete rules established around admins removing builds because they don't like it.

  10. So time to clarify and bring some light to some issues.

First off, back in the good old days does anyone remember how long it took to remove builds on PvE even by region owners? A maximum of 2 weeks normally. Well now it's been changed to an admin can complete there own admin requests and destroy builds Willy nilly. Comforting? I thought so too.

Private logs: here we go again with these but why is this the main form of how admins spy on us? Obviously there's no chain of command so any admin anytime can simply see who's talking to who about what.

I'm opening this up to everyone but I'm curious who is in favor that we simply start letting admins complete their own modreqs for removing builds? Message me if you want specifics but trust me this has happened before, recently and will happen again.

  11. A big problem, as I see it, is that even if TNT is only enabled in certain regions, there are still ways to cause destruction in neighbouring areas if you try hard enough. Whenever C does chaos, spawn ends up getting nuked despite still having TNT disabled in its region.

Perhaps a different type of TNT? A block that is specifically set so it destroys 10x10 like I said before. I know the mechanics for TNT aren't perfect so maybe adding a simple fix that won't bounce when blown up and such.

  12. But this is what I'm trying to say. Such a piece of land wouldn't be protected in the first place so it wouldn't have a region where you could use TNT in.

I understand that bit adding something such as "modreq I need a region to allow TNT use" or something to that effect. It'll take oversight like I said in the beginning but is useful when put to practice. Maybe even something like TNT that is difficult to craft but can clear a 10x10 area or something to that effect.

  13. I am sure there is a way to craft "Only this person in this region can use TNT" while still adding others to the permission nodes.  I know it involves a few technicalities like perhaps a specific note saying only for clearing up to a 40x40 area underground or whatever you may say.  I understand the concern but I've seen other servers similar to ours that make this happen.  It is a vanilla mechanic and it is useful when used correctly.

  14. So to start, yes I am serious.  I know this was discussed long ago and disregarded, but I'd like to bring it up again in hopes we can make this happen.  Again as said before this will be a region only thing.  Griefers can't go around with the stuff and blow everything up, only certain people granted on certain regions.  Now we should also consider a limiter so no one can lag out the server if they try hard enough.  It's manageable with a little oversight.  As far as right now, the underground is essentially useless unless someone spends 13,000 hours mining out an empty area.  TNT would allow for a more usable underground area that players could create more with.  Any feedback is wanted, thanks!

  15. I'm curious why you would think this is even remotely a thing? You were a staff member in the past and should know just how difficult chat logs are to rummage through. I dread having to do it for a ban appeal because it is such a pain in the ass. I sure as hell wouldn't want to be doing it in my free time for "no reason".

To be frank the fact that you even accuse staff of just searching through logs I find to be insulting. We are here to look out for the playerbase and the users, we don't go digging through logs for no reason. I don't think I have ever heard of any instance of a head, or any other staff member for that matter, just digging through logs for no reason in my year or so I have been on staff. I am very curious on what "evidence" you have.

Your blinders are showing old friend.  Here's your proof that I slightly redacted to leave other folks out of the issue but the main issue I have is that this is not even remotely the first incident where head admins "stumble" upon private logs.  Again let me reiterate that this was brought up because I had my facts wrong. Does no one else wonder how often this goes on? 92om2MG.jpg

  16. So just trying to clarify something, but what gives head admins the right to view private conversations?  It's come to my attention that on multiple occasions, head admins have recently just been combing through logs to view players private conversations even with no rhyme or reason. Is this a common practice now a days?  I always thought being paranoid was over kill but it turns out with very good reason to be concerned about privacy invasions. This isn't directed to say that head admins aren't trusted, but more of why are logs being viewed and combed over for no reason.  That's my concern and that's what I'm hoping to address, and evidence can be provided if needed.

  17. I have a 14 year old niece who stays with me who frequented P and I set up a simple chat filter to mostly focus on cutting out the fun adult conversations that sometimes come up (the very few times they do).

I'll give a first hand testimony that this is excessive. The answer isn't always censorship. We can't put the NSA out of a job folks.

In all truthfulness, if parents can't take the extra efforts to protect their kids from seeing bad words, then we shouldn't be held accountable. Trooprm also makes a good point that very young kids have the attention span of squirrels and rarely last beyond a week for frequent visits.

Do I agree people shouldn't be targeting the kids such as, kid says "hey I'm 12" and adult player says "hey fuck you" yeah that's not okay, that I would mute for and possibly talk to them about. We have to keep the thin line of peace between censoring and noncensorship but this suggested idea is far too much of it. Also what's our players age demographic for this age range? Like 1%?

We have bigger fish to fry aside from worrying about this honestly.

  18. Hey ash, I know you didn't mean harm but your previous warnings lead to this ban. Since you've stated you know what you did and understand, I'll have some other staff member unban you due to me not being at home for another week.

Please just mind what areas you're editing mate.

If anyone could please unban ash for me that would be appreciated

  19. Winners circle, Something unique in server, In-game prizes.

I think this has been discussed time and time again but the main reason for not allowing it, is because we aren't one of the millions of other servers that offer donater ranks and prizes such as that.  We keep in game interactions simple and treat everyone as the same person, this helps keep the community on a less competitive level and also as said before, separates us from the rest of the servers.
