    Issue confirmed as CobraCorral handling of ChunkUnloadEvent, specific cause not found, we are reviewing the source now and reaching out to the plugin author

     

    With more debugging we have narrowed the issue to what appears to be async database updates. However for whatever reason each locked horse per chunk unload takes 1000ms to complete the following function

    Note for casual readers that what is seen in that log paste is not  "each locked horse per chunk unload" on the server taking more than 1000ms, it's only the locked horses that are taking more than 1000ms that are shown:

     

            Long duration = System.currentTimeMillis() - begin;
        if (duration > 1) {
            this.plugin.getLogger().log(Level.INFO, "ChunkUnloadEvent; duration={0}", duration);
        }
    All the horses that aren't taking longer than 1000ms wouldn't be shown.

     

    I don't see any changes to onChunkUnload() here; additionally this function has been there since March of 2014, why hasn't it manifested this problem until now at the new rev start?

    For folks who might know what to look for and/or just want to browse the actual changes to the listed plugins, I've added relevant links to code diffs where possible:

      • Do you have build numbers?  "git-Spigot-07a5b1b-04afd79 (MC: 1.8.7)" or somesuch would allow for pin pointing commits.

    slide would know for sure, but if I'm remembering correctly I think one of the main reasons for it was the regular kicks for flooding on gamesurge, especially on restarts with all the disconnects and joins. If that's not an issue then yeah, you're right about it being one less thing to have to worry about keeping running on our end.

    Many of us, and many of those before us, have stuck to this rule that evading a ban on an alt account results in permanent ban of the alt account (and from the poking around I've done, in most cases time was tacked on to the original ban if applicable). And you're right, it really doesn't make a ton of sense. And Dumbo's improvements sound reasonable, certainly.

    I'm curious what the reasoning was for the rule's introduction in the first place. Does anyone know?

    We have never really had any set guidelines.

    Right on the staff page we say 1-2 months or so:

     

    Inactive Moderators: These guys have been absent for around 1-2 months or so. Powers may be temporarily removed, need to be requested back.

    Also, the staff expectations post says:

     

    If you've been unable to play with us for an extended period of time, we may remove your staff permissions and move your to our inactive staff list.

    Also, Barlimore's public modchat thread from back in August 2013 outlined the steps he took to determine inactivity and the procedure he followed afterward to trim the active list.

    I think all of these could be used to form set guidelines for us to follow.
