  1. I've put together an update to the approved mods list for Survival. Before i post it to the wiki, I'd like to check and see if anyone has any issues with this list, or any suggestions for additional mods to include. http://paste.thezomg.com/15385/12912366/ password: mods notable changes from old version: not-approved: zyin's HUD - has mild xray like feature for cave-mapping, and a player locator. gammabright both of these are on PvE's approved list. Be aware of this distinction between the two. approved: tabbychat journeymap fairplay edition batty's coordinates avancedHUD Schematica notenoughitems togglesprint (updated link to togglesneak) saturation display bupload Monster Spawn Highlighter updated relevant rules section to reflect current rules. almost negligible difference, just up-to-date now. removed a handful of obsolete/outdated mods, like ssp slime fix which hasn't been needed since like, 1.4.7. left reis link in there, even though it goes to an outdated version - it's still the relatively official link. Any other mods we should add? Any we should mention in the not-approved list? Any issues with these changes?
  2. As posted on the subreddit http://redd.it/2i55yn Survival revision 26 will be ending tomorrow, Friday October 3rd, and a 1.8 chaos map will be up at 5pm CDT. Please stay tuned for announcements about revision 27.
  3. For the past month a few of us have been working on a community Halloween event to be held on the Event server. The event features two main attractions: Pumpkin Carving Speed Build This part of the event will be held on Saturday, October 25th, at three different times so I can cover all player time zones. There will be three rounds with three winners from each round. The fourth round will be a build off between the nine winners. The three winners from the final round will have their pumpkin on display in the Pumpkin Patch of the maze Halloween weekend. Space is limited so please sign up for one of the slots below by PM-ing me here with the time slot you would like to build: SLOT ONE - Aussieland SLOT TWO - Brits&Friends SLOT THREE - North America The Champion build round will take place at 7p CDT on October 25th. Translate for your time zone here. For those of you unfamiliar with speed building but think you may want to give it a try, speed building is a game where you build (or in our case carve) within a certain amount of time while in creative mode. I will make a defining post closer to the event with the time allotment etc. You may reference this post by LetsBFehr for more background on speed building: Speed Building The Night Is Dark and Full of Terrors Opening again to the public at 12a CDT, October 31st, the Event Server will be showcasing our second attraction, a multi-area (and in some cases multi-level) maze. Don't worry, while I am known for building mazes with no exit, I assure you this one can be solved! More than just getting through the maze though, the surrounding area of the maze is full of different things including, but not limited to, the Pumpkin Patch that will have our three winners from the speed build. Different areas will have different enemies and different upgrades. Prepare for riddles and combinations locks to get through the maze, it'll be the most fun you'll have fighting for your life. Special Tiny Sneak Peak While I'm at this I would like to take this moment to give special thanks to the staff members and players helping me make this possible: Maze Spawn: SwitchViewz Creative Speed Build Arena: unce Everything Technical and Training Me to Use World Edit: slide23 Writing a Plug-in For Aesthetic Purposes, the Barn, the Rivers, and other building: JudgeDread Redstone: TheRandomnatrix General Testing: All server admins & Mrgauthier34 You guys really have been fabulous and I really appreciate all your hard work. Also thank you for helping me stay stress free and sane (well more sane-ish).
  4. Something that has been suggested to me which I think would be great to try on S is a contest to design useful or beautiful shops. Any contest needs judges - unbiased and responsible ones at that, and who is more unbiased or responsible than admins?! :D I'd like to invite all of you, head admins, server admins, and techadmins, to volunteer to mercilessly judge whatever shops players may create to stimulate trade and creative interactions on the survival server for revision 27. I'm thinking we announce the contest before launch, and hold final judging about a month in. If "best designed shop" seems vague or not very useful in terms of contest titles/parameters, maybe someone has a more creative suggestion? I figure we can allow players to modreq to protect any redstone mechanisms involved, as long as it can't be abused for PvP purposes. That should allow for a greater variety of creativity than would normally be exercised on the server. If you feel like taking a few minutes to review the builds a few weeks from now and offering your expert or pseudo-expert evaluations, please let me know.
  5. This post is not strictly for survival moderators. Anyone is welcome to help out. We're looking at launching rev 28 at 6-8 weeks after launching rev 27, barring tragedy or overwhelming outcry to extend rev 27. There are a few projects sadmins want to present to mods and the other admins here to offer the opportunity to help out with. 6-8 weeks will put launch day near the end of November and beginning of December. Everybody in the northern hemisphere will be quite chilly (I suspect the majority of our players are from up topside, sorry equatorial and southern hemisphere friends :/ ) so I was thinking a wintery theme for spawn/arenas might be cool (no pun intended, but heh). Particularly the idea of a sort of "winter palace" for spawn. I'd like to see if we can put something together, maybe hold a contest on C for it, with winner being selected a few weeks before launch of rev 28 (to give us time to paste it in and make sure it's all configured properly). Would anyone be willing to help out with this? Still need to run the idea by Cadmins. Or if you think you can make a decent frigid-feeling spawn or arena yourself, that'd be awesome too! We're going to continue trying new approaches to survival, whether that means new plugins, new events, different rules, novel map designs, etc. Sadmins may need help sifting through all of the ideas that have been submitted in the past, all of the seemingly endless discussion threads or reaction polls. xTheHundredsx gave me a list once of some of these, but I'm sure it's outdated now: http://paste.thezomg.com/15244/41210733/ If anyone would like to volunteer to help make sense of all of this, please let us know. If you have an event you have been kicking around for a while that you'd be excited to see implemented on survival, please share it. With our combined effort we can do more than we might as individuals. The sooner we can get them planned out, the easier it will be to make them work together as an integrated experience for players. I have a mini-ctf arena that's been languishing for a while now that really just needs a few things tweaked and maybe given a mild makeover with 1.7 blocks, i just haven't had the time to work on it. We can put together a list and make it happen. And if it's an idea that may seem too big to work on S, it might work on the event server, or in a multiverse'd dimension on S. Nothing is really off the table currently from sadmin's standpoint. Beastbruiser, redwall, and I will be trying our best to engage non-staff further in planning/preparing for rev 28 and beyond. If anyone has ideas on how this might best be achieved, please share. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and much gratitude to you for all you do here.
  6. The meeting will take place on September 27th at 6:00 pm EDT. The time of the second meeting will be announced at a later date, and we will open the floor for new question at the end of the second meeting. Discussion on new nerd.nu website What is the status of it? Suggestions for the new site? Donating Should we add some sort of badges on the forums for donators? Should we add something in game to distinguish donators? How else could we encourage donating? Should we have more donation drives/events? Forum Badges/Subreddit Flair Should we add some sort of forum award/badge system, and then when players win events they can have a badge/flair added to there account? Should we give players that win events a special subreddit flair? How can we make the flow of progress faster? Right now it seems staff members do things in there own time and seem to randomly work on things. How can we make it so that we have a better system for completing jobs?Modded Servers/Mini Games Should we expand our current servers to more then just vanilla minecraft? Such as FTB or minigames? Thanks to SwitchViewz for putting together this agenda.
  7. Hey folks, I've been sent a suggestion regarding the preparation of survival maps/revisions that pertains to all S moderators, and perhaps to other mods/staff that may have an interest. Rather than paraphrase, I'll just copy-paste it here: Sounds simple enough. Is it a good idea? Who would be interested in being a part of such a "council" aiding in the preparation of survival maps? What else might such a group be responsible for? Does it need to be anything so formal as a special council, or can it be just something that mods can do if they feel like it? Maybe the formalized structure will help provide a sense of organization for the task. Is this even really necessary when the admins could do it on their own? Any other questions or thoughts about this suggestion, please share them here. I personally like the idea of involving anyone and everyone who is interested in helping prepare the map or plan revisions or even the direction of the server. Whether they are staff or not, if they want to help why turn them away? So some additional questions I have which relate to this are, what can non-staff do to help apart from creating awesome builds like spawns and arenas and roads? What sorts of things should be relegated to staff-only, or admin-only? There are no wrong answers, so share whatever comes to mind. Sadmins will be making a post on the general discussion forum about preparing S rev 27 soon, so non-staff can have a place to work together on it if they like too, but the main focus here is this council idea and what role moderators ought to have in general in revision preparation.
  8. I think it's high time we start getting ready for the new revision, the current one is stale. I think the fact that an arena had to be cancelled due to low playercount is enough evidence to bring this forward. Admins, do you have plans to discuss this?
  9. Is this [ https://docs.google.com/document/d/1e5b6oLYH79VyvnelZvd496Qf3mrcdJoCyv1J8EHsIp4/edit ] no longer going to be a thing? We haven't been told much about S and what the admins think about the current revision. I'm just curious. -dizney07
  10. Now that Rev 26 has been up for 4 weeks and we have all had some time to play and see how various changes affect gameplay, let's hash out what we like, dislike, or think needs tweaked, both for the continuation of this rev and for the next. Please keep all comments constructive and keep discussion civil. Sadmins reserve the right to take poll results into advisement without necessarily following all outcomes of the polls to reach a configuration of plugins, settings, and rules that works well together.
  11. Now the last few mod nominations made me a bit curious to how a mod is picked out from the rest of the players. I just want to know how the staff picks out the person and what traits do they look for? Another question i have is when a staff member picks someone to be mod, is it well discussed before voted on?
  12. Mrgauthier and I think we should hold an arena next week. Could we have prizes or something?
  13. What is the standard procedure for this? What should be the standard procedure for this? Discuss -gsand D';
  14. Could we get an exemption from the "Slow down Chat" plugin? When Kitcatbar does xray requests she gets kicked and it is very inconvenient while using other moderating commands.
  15. PvP on Survival I've had more fun PvPing on Survival in the last 4 days than I have in years. To me, big clan fights are the most fun, and everything about the new revision encourages big clans, from the resource drain of protecting blocks, to the need for teammates to come rescue you when you've been pearled. Also, having the prison pearl plugin gives you a consequence for dying, which makes PvP that much more intense. Also, being "enemies" with the two largest clans on the server means that you can find PvP whenever you want it. Let me share a story that just happened a few hours ago: I share this story to show how much fun PvP can be with the new plugins. We've had battles like this one every day since the new revision started. I see a lot of complaining about the new plugins, but people just need to realize how much fun they can make PvP, you just need to ally up with a big clan. If you want to fight the civvies with us, we're allying everyone that wants to go up against them. A few days ago we had a "Prisoner Exchange," each of us freeing our Prison-Pearled hostage(s). Just the fact that politics like that can exist in Minecraft PvP is super fun.
  16. I was called onto survival to deal with some players, including one who claims to be a long time player saying they had been trapped in a prison due to the prison pearls mod. They were confused and asking me if such things are even allowed, they felt it was a way to utterly ruin their time on the servers. I was not sure what the proper action to take was, since I am obviously not that frequently on Survival, however I was the only moderator present at the time. after much consideration, and the fact that the player themselves was getting so disgusted with it that they practically wanted to leave the server and not return unless the plugin was removed. I made an executive decision to free the player simply tp'ing them up out of the obsidian prison they were placed in. I later talked to troop about it as the people who built the prison were bringing more players (including one of their own alts(which I was not aware of when I tp'd them up) Troop came on and saved one of the players after observing the situation for himself, and I later brought the third player up and out after they returned (unknown that they were in fact an alt account of one of the prison creators. I was asked by a crew of people whom I have not seen on S before to stop going players an unfair advantage then one of the prison builders links a screenshot of the third trapped players chat logs. Upon personal observation, this prison system, even if its as short as 20 minutes(max time I let the first player sit in it) seems like such an incredibly good way to loose players that I am shocked we have it installed. I may not play on our realism servers a lot, but I've been on many before and if enemy players had the ability to do this to me, I myself wouldn't return again. Tell me, how is it acceptable to trap players in this? Please note, its 3 blocks high and at bedrock level, they also trapped players under stone. more pictures can be viewed here http://imgur.com/a/1RRXb If I did something wrong by freeing a player from this, then go ahead and ban me... But I personally don't think it is at all fair, fun, or welcoming to players new and old alike. and especially when players desire to leave our community because of it.
  17. Beastbruiser and I spent a majority of the morning testing the current plugins so that I could better write the “Beginner’s Guide” that can be found here https://bitly.com/Guide_To_SREV26 During this time we discussed some potential new ideas/changes to current plugins that we think would benefit the current play style of S. Please vote on the poll and make comments below in regards to what you think. Bounty Plugin Changes We both believe that the bounty plugin is a good idea, however, is at the moment a bit pointless due to many reasons. The two main ones being: Clan members can claim bounties on other clan members by simply killing them You don’t immediately have to “claim”a bounty when you kill the person so you could wait until someone later makes a better bounty and then claim that one even though you may have killed the person days or weeks ago. Bounty plugins normally work best on HARDCORE or DEATHBAN servers where people will actually try and claim bounties to get that person off the server. Our idea is this: To create a bounty it costs 12 Diamonds Plus a reward to whoever claims the bounty The bounty hunter must have the player prison pearled to claim the bounty When the bounty is claimed the person who created the bounty is notified If the person who created the bounty is online they will get the players pearl and the 12 Diamonds back. If the person who created the bounty is offline, they will get the players pearl when they log in and some diamonds back depending on the amount of time the player has been pearled. If there are multiple bounties on the same person the bounty hunter, like they can currently, can claim the bounty they want to receive. Players would be able to add rewards to their current bounties, however, they would not be able to remove bounties. The reason for this is to prevent people from using the bounty system to protect items. We chose 12 diamonds for 24 hours however this could change to 6 (12 hours) or 3 (6 hours) depending on what the community thinks is fair. We believe doing this would actually make people hunt for bounties vs randomly collecting them like they are now. Maybe also integrate it onto the website so people can view bounties from the site and see who has claimed bounties and bounty stats to see who the best bounty hunter is. After talking to FatherSouth we came up with this as a possible solution. Create an entirely different plugin or integrate it into the current plugin. To create a Pearl Bounty there is a minimum reward that must be given to create the bounty. For example 5 diamonds. To claim the bounty the user who issued the bounty must be online. If the user who issued the bounty is offline the bounty hunter would be required to keep the pearl safe until the issuing user logs in if they wish to eventually claim the bounty. This may cost the bounty hunter some diamonds to do. When both the bounty hunter and bounty issuer are online you could then claim the bounty while holding the pearl in your inventory by entering a command The pearl would then be sent to the issuer and the reward sent to the bounty hunter. Better Clan Chat I personally think the clan chat we have no is annoying to use. The main cause of this is having to enter /c every time i want to talk to just my clan. Also since snitches are a thing they both start with the same color which makes it more difficult to identify if its clan chat or snitch warnings when you aren’t really looking at chat. In a perfect world what I would like to do is somehow have the clan chat integrate into our SimpleClans plugin. That way you don’t have to create a custom clan channel and add members to it but instead just have whoever is in your clan automatically be added to the channel. The other thing I would like to do is make the chat system a toggleable system. For those of you familiar with Factions servers you understand this concept. In short there would be commands: /chat clan - allows you to only talk to clan members /chat ally - allows you to talk to only allied members /chat enemy - allows you to talk to rival members only /chat public - allows you to talk in public chat When you enter one of these commands it would turn your default chat into that chat type. That way you dont always have to type /c before everytthing you want to say. This could prevent you from accidentally saying stuff in public chat for example coords. Also each chat, except for public, would have a colored prefix. For example: [CLAN] <Malvagio87>: This was said in /chat clan [ALLY] <Malvagio87>: This was said in /chat ally [RIVAL] <Malvagio87>: This was said in /chat rival <Malvagio87> This was said in /chat public Juke Alert (Snitches) Adding color codes to snitches i think would be helpful. Let us know what you think and if you are confused/ want clarification on what I mean by anything above just ask and I will edit the post. Link people to this post using this link here >>>
  18. Survival Revision 26 Beginner’s Guide and Information (because I can't find Totemo's) Share using this link https://bit.ly/Guide_To_SREV26 The two biggest changes are: Griefing is allowed LWC is no longer installed meaning no more /cprivate or /lock but you can still protect chests Main New Plugins Citadel – Item and Block Protection Plugin Juke Alert – Alerts you to nearby players and edits made Prison Pearl – Allows you to imprison players The Guide CITADEL In short Citadel is a block protection plugin that allows you to reinforce blocks that you place. What reinforcing does is makes the block you place harder to break depending on what you reinforce it with. Reinforcement Information Stone – 25 Breaks to destroy block Iron – 250 Breaks to destroy block Emerald – 1000 Breaks to destroy block Diamond – 1800 Breaks to destroy block Therefore, if you reinforce a chest with iron, someone would have to break the chest 250 times before it would open. You on the other hand can bypass your own protections depending on the permission you have and type of reinforcement. Types of Reinforcement Private Reinforcement Group Reinforcement If it is a private reinforcement YOU and ONLY YOU can bypass reinforcements. If it is a group reinforcement you must be at least a mod to bypass and reinforce. Being allowed only gives you access to using the reinforced items. Ways to Reinforce Reinforce Fortify The difference between fortify and reinforce is that reinforce makes you click on each block individually and fortify allows you to place blocks and have them automatically reinforced as long as you have the reinforcement type in your inventory. How to Reinforce Privately Place the item you want to reinforce down for instance a chest or double chest Use the command /ctr Punch chest with the Smooth Stone, Iron, Emerald, or a Diamond in your hand. Use the command /ctr again or /ctoff to stop reinforcing Group Create a group using the command /ctcreate <groupname> Add the players you want to the group by using the command /ctallow <groupname> <playername> If you want the player to be able to break the reinforced blocks within the group add them as a moderator using the command /ctaddmod <groupname> <playername> Now place the item you want to reinforce down for instance a chest or double chest to reinforce with the group of players you created Enter the command /ctr group <groupname> Punch chest with the Smooth Stone, Iron, Emerald, or a Diamond in your hand. Use the command /ctr group <groupname> again or /ctoff to stop reinforcing Now those players have access to the group How to Fortify (you should be doing this with at least smooth stone when building your base since it will help prevent random or alot of griefing) Privately Hold the item you want to reinforce with in your hand Enter the command /ctf Then start building and your as long as you have the reinforce material in your inventory it will reinforce what you are placing. Group Hold the item you want to reinforce with in your hand Enter the command /ctf group <groupname> Then start building and your as long as you have the reinforce material in your inventory it will reinforce what you are placing.Hold the item you want to reinforce with in your hand Other Helpful Commands /cti - allows you to see the reinforcement of a block Full List at - http://redditpublic.com/wiki/Citadel_%26_JukeAlert JUKE ALERT taken from HERE JukeAlert provides an easy-to-use means by which one can record player activity within an 11 block radius. In short it lets you now when players are near your “snitches” word Creating Snitches To create a snitch reinforce a jukebox or a noteblock. This will create an active snitch block. Jukeboxes snitches will save logs and notify you whenever someone enters the 11 block radius of the snitch, whereas noteblock snitches only notify. Recommendation: It is highly recommended to properly name your snitches with /janame to make your own life easier when trying to determine the general location of the snitch. Access to a snitch can be controlled with Citadel groups. By reinforcing the snitch to a group with /ctr group group-name, any member and above on the group will receive snitch notifications. Note: If you are receiving a snitch notification and are unsure what group that snitch is part of then use /jalookup x y z to find out. Checking Snitches Walk within the radius of the snitch you are in the group for and type /jainfo. This will load the snitch logs for the first page. You can check other pages by typing /jainfo page-number. Only jukebox snitches save logs and as such using /jainfo only loads logs for jukebox snitches. PRISON PEARL Taken from HERE The basics of Prison Pearl are simple. Have at least one ender pearl in your hotbar and when you kill a player, they will be pearled. Once a player is pearled, they are trapped in the end until they are released or until the chest they are in runs out of diamonds. If the player who trapped you doesn't put you in a chest with diamonds you will be released on the next restart (every two hours). Pearls need to be stored in a chest with diamonds for them safekeeping. One pearl costs 12 diamonds per day for five days if the pearled player logs in. This is called the charge time. If the pearled player goes five days without logging in then the pearl stops costing diamonds until they log in and reset the charge time. Warning: If you log out with a pearl and there are no other players within render distance than the pearl will be released. If other players are within render distance than the pearl will be dropped. The moment a pearl is outside of render distance the pearled player is released. Pearls must stored in chest with diamonds for safe keeping. Most criminals are stored in highly secured vaults that can cost thousands of diamonds and obsidian to make. It is highly advised to store criminal pearls in secure vaults. Warning: Do not store the pearl in an item frame. If they type /ppl then they will be freed immediately. Being Pearled If you are pearled than you are trapped in the end until you are either released or the chest you are stored in runs out of diamonds. Being released is dependent on why you were pearled in the first place. Finding Your Pearl and Broadcasting If you want to locate where your pearl is being held use /pplocate. This will tell you the location of your pearl. You can type /ppbroadcast player-name to share the coordinates of your pearl whenever you type /pplocate or whenever it is moved. In the event people are trying to free you, using /ppbroadcast is highly recommended. Summoning and Returning Prisoners Prison Pearl allows you to summon pearled players. Equip the player's pearl in your hand and type /ppsummon or /pps and this brings the pearled player into the overworld with only pearls in their inventory and the armor they are wearing. No other items can be transported by a summoned player. You can also use /pps player-name range to set how far away from you they will be at when summoned. Note: Any other items in the pearled player's inventory will be dropped on the ground in the end at the location they were prior to being summoned. It is advised to notify the player you are summoning so that they have time to prepare stash their items. Only ender pearls and equipped armor can be transported through summoning. All other items are dropped on the ground. Toggling Damage, Block Break, and Changing the MOTD for Prisoners Summoned players will take damage if they wander too far away from you. You can change the distance they can travel with /ppsetdist numbers. Additionally, it is advisable to type /pptoggledamage so that the pearled player can't kill you and free themselves. You must either hold their pearl in your hand or type their name like /pptoggledamage Dr_Jawa. You can also use /pptoggleblocks to make it so that the players can't break blocks. You can also change the message of the day a pearled player receives by either holding their pearl and typing /ppsetmotd your text here or typing the players name /ppsetmotd Dr_Jawa You have 100 diamonds in reparations remaining. For the purpose of receiving reparations, you can summon them and allow them to drop the pearls and in exchange give them wood or such and then type /ppreturn to send them back to the end. Note: Any items in the players inventory when they are returned stay in their inventory. You can use this to your advantage. By providing the pearled player some cheap armor, food, and wood planks and returning them to the end they can in turn farm pearls for you. Freeing Prisoners With the pearl in your right in your hand, right click and they will random spawn away. Alternatively, you can type /ppfree and they will be freed at your feet. Note: If you put the pearl in a chest with no diamond, then after server restart the pearl is freed and you actually get a useable pearl back. Make sure to share this in game using this url: https://bit.ly/Guide_To_SREV26 EDITS: 7/29 - Removed information in regards to posting on civcraft
  19. Since people keep asking in chat here is a short tutorial on how to "lock chests" PLEASE NOTE: You are no longer able to lock chests like you were back when LWC was used. To "lock chests" now you must reinforce them with either Iron, Emerlad, or Diamond. What reinforcing them does is prevents people from opening them, however allows the chest to be broken if hit enough times. Therefore, the better item you use to reinforce the chest, the longer it will take for someone to break it. To lock a "PRIVATE CHEST" - meaning you and only you have access to it. Place chest or double chest down Use the command /ctr Punch chest with the Smooth Stone, Iron, Emerald, or a Diamond in your hand. Use the command /ctr again or /ctoff to stop reinforcing To "Add People to a Chest" - you must reinforce the chest with a group and have the member you want in that group Create a group using the command /ctcreate <groupname> Add the players you want to the group by using the command /ctallow <groupname> <playername> If you want the player to be able to break the reinforced blocks within the group add them as a moderator using the command /ctaddmod <groupname> <playername> Now place the chest you want to reinforce with the group of players you created Enter the command /ctr group <groupname> Punch chest with the Smooth Stone, Iron, Emerald, or a Diamond in your hand. Use the command /ctr group <groupname> again or /ctoff to stop reinforcing Now those players have access to the group Use this link to send people here in game http://bit.ly/lockchests_SREV26
  20. I was noticing on the wiki pages for the survival server and the creative server that a number of the cartographs (otherwise referred to as cartos) for recent maps were missing. The survival server is currently missing cartos for revision 23, revision 24 and revision 25. The creative server is currently missing cartos for revision 25. I was wondering whether or not these could get updated and added onto the wiki, as it would be nice to be able to take a glance at the things we built during these revisions without having to download the entire map. Thanks, Avada
  21. With the new survival rev starting tomorrow, I thought now would be an appropriate time to post this (also we were still thinking of a name). With the new plug ins, now seems like the perfect time to bring about the idea of a city. We're not going to give away any details of the city or where we plan on building, but this is an invite to players that if you would like to join or help with the building, let me know :D Disclaimer: If none of us know you, we likely won't let you join in the building process due to major S trust issues, but you are welcome in the city once the preliminary plans are completed. Also if we don't trust you, we may not let you in at all. <3 u all though -dizney07
  22. Can we please just go back to how the server once was.. If you check the mcpublic reddit posts regarding the new direction people are really unresponsive. Veteran players all hold the same views that the open grief and lack of ruling will kill the server. And trust me, these server vets know their shit as most have been around twice as long as the current server staff. Myself included. We aren't a citadel server. We're a survival server. A suggestion I have posted about is to strip back the game a tad and allow it to accommodate a pick up and play approach a little better. PvP was rife before the adventure update as anyone could quickly craft armour and weapons and run out to hunt for someone. As soon as enchants and spells were introduced the onous was onto getting a grinder, getting god swords and armour, then getting tanked up on buffs and then and only then, going out. When the majority of your gameplay is spent idling at a grinder and trialling and erroring enchants, of course PvP and user count will die. My suggestion is to completely remove all PvP related spells and enchants. Swords can still have Bane of Arthropods, Looting, Unbreaking etc But Sharpness, Fire Aspect and Knock back should go. Bows can perhaps keep Infinity, though this may even be brought into question.. The rest.. Gone. Armour should remove Protection and leave the rest. All other enchants related to mining will stay and still be useful when it comes to getting your resources. Spells which buff a players strength and life regeneration or harm another should go. Keeping Invisibility and Swiftness for example can really bring some stealth style killing into play. Of course what would be necessary alongside this is a rebalancing of the in game items stats. No longer should a stone sword be able to batter an iron clad player. Leather armour should also not be entirely useless. Gold should even be brought into the fray and made a suitable step between iron and diamond. Working out the perfect balance of stats for this would be a toughie. But there are ample people out there who are willing and able to help. I'm sure the rebalancing has even been done before somewhere. The random spawns and spawn in beds should be totally removed as these REALLY do not help with encouraging PvP. Safe buckets should also be reinstated. As should anti griefing and revised don't be a dick rules. And the roads. The roads MUST come back!! To prevent spawn camping I have an idea which should help. Create quite a large spawn, circular in shape, which has the look and feel of a village. There could be places for meetings to be held in game. Clan halls. Rule museums. A redstone museum demonstrating redstone engineering examples and so on. This area will be entirely no PvP. Anyone spawning inside this area is immune to attack for the duration of being inside it. Leaving and reentering the spawn however does not enable the no PvP again for you. Not until you die and spawn inside it. Because the spawn will be quite large (and perhaps even raised on a double platform encased by a protected ring road and its main road system which MUST be returned!!) Players who have been killed can exit in any direction and away from any likely spawn campers. A suggestion could be to even harm players who reenter the spawn area with poison, preventing them wanting to pearl into the spawn and buddy up with their victim awaiting them to drop into the PvP zone. I believe these suggestions will allow players to join the server at any points during its revisions life, spend an hour gathering resources, then get straight into the fray with PvP and survival. Can these suggestions please be discussed and directions altered if the response for them is positive please. So far, these suggestions on the subreddit have gone down well.
  23. To help keep chaos interesting for everyone while we finish getting ready for the new rev, we have decided to load Survival's Rev 17 for you guys to destroy!
  24. Hello everyone, Here’s what our plan is so far for the next rev. Before you read any further you should know that rev 26 will also be a test rev. We will be trying out some major changes to survival, but not all of them may work as we plan. This just means that some plugins and configs might be changed during the rev. The map itself should be considered stable and unlikely to be reset without ample warning. We are still working on a few details, and this post will be updated once those details are finalized. Now for what you really care about, the changes. Survival Rev 26 will launch sometime next weekend. We will make another post once we set a final time. Chaos will go down this Saturday at approximately 5:00 pm EDT(click here to see what time that is for you!). The new rev will start shortly after that. Survival Rev 26 is live. General Details The map is 5000 x 5000, but might be expanded later in the rev. There is a ring road at +/- 600 There are 8 portals randomly placed throughout the map and 2 on the ring road. There is a public arena at the southeast corner (600, 600) of the ring road. There is a first join area. Ores are plumped, but only specific ores will be plumped in specific biome. Taiga - Gold Roofed Forest - Gold Forest - Iron Plains - Iron Jungle - Iron, Coal Ocean - Gold Desert - Lapis Savanna - Lapis Extreme Hills - Glowstone Mega Taiga - Glowstone Swampland - Clay Mesa - Redstone Ice Mountains - Coal Emeralds are plumped throughout the map. A custom nether will replace the vanilla one. Gameplay Changes / Plugins Citadel - Allows you to reinforce blocks using Stone, Iron, Diamonds, or Emeralds. We will be updating this wiki page once we finalize a few more details. A beginner's guide to Citadel by totemo. Citadel reinforcement values: Stone - 25 Iron - 250 Emeralds - 1000 Diamonds - 1800 JukeAlert - Allows you to track any blocks placed, removed, mobs killed, and player movement in a a 21x21x21 area around a reinforced Juke Box. PrisonPearl - Allows you to imprison a player if enough damages is inflicted with ender pearl in your hot bar. However, there is a cost for everything, and this no exception! In order to keep someone imprisoned you must pay a fee of diamonds. It will take 1 diamond to keep someone imprisoned every restart. ItemExchange - Allows you to create a shop using chests. SimpleClans - Back by popular demand, this plugin will add a new twist to clan fighting with things like a clan leaderboard, rivalries, and vitals! Friendly Fire is on(you can kill anyone, even your own clan), and there are no clan tags in chat. NerdBounty - This plugin allows you to place bounties on players! We would like to thank roastnewt for taking the time to make this plugin for us. ExpensiveBeacons - This plugin adds a new twist to base defense by allowing you to create beacons that only apply specific groups. PlumpXP is set at 3x Enchantism has been removed. LWC has been removed. SafeBuckets has been removed. Enderchests have been disabled. Crafting recipes for Smooth Stone Slabs (block 43:8), Smooth Sandstone Slabs (block 43:9), Self Powered Redstone Lamps, Hopper Braziers(can be toggled with redstone), and Decorative Command Blocks have been added. Things That Will be Returning Beds - Die within 10 meters of your bed and your spawn and you are given the option to spawn randomly or in your bed. PearlNerf - Attempts to limit the potential abuse of enderpearl during pvp. Combat Tag - to deter using logout as a function of PvP, CombatTag causes an NPC to spawn if you logout shortly after engaging in combat. Please keep in mind that using login/logout as a function of combat, regardless of whether you've been tagged, is against the rules. If you aren't sure if it's safe to log out, wait maybe 30 seconds or so. You should be fine. ReblanceVillagers - We will be using a different configuration than last time, and we will update this post with a link once we finalize the details. Villager trading is disabled as it would make emeralds too easy to get. CobraCorral - Allows players to lock horses to keep them safe when not in use. You may no longer protect donkeys or mules that have chests attached or place chests on them if they are protected. Armored head drops will continue to be in effect. Crafting recipes for Horse Armor, Mossy Stone Bricks, Chiseled Stone Bricks, and Mossy Cobblestone will remain the same. Rules Survival's rules will change before the rev starts. We will be making a post once they have been updated to make sure everyone knows about them and has a chance to read them before the rev starts. Survival Arena League (SAL) Started in rev 21 by Ludeman84, this series of weekly arena nights will be making a return for rev 25! A more detailed post will be made at a later date. End of Rev / Future Changes We are not setting an end date for rev 26 like we did with rev 25. Keep an eye open for posts regarding the future of Survival! These posts may involve asking for opinions, suggestions, or help developing plugins. Suggestions / Feedback Have any suggestions or feedback about the Survival? Let us know here or here!
