  1. Go ahead. Post your random screenshots taken on the servers. :) Some from the C chaos: PUTTING AN END TO DIDY'S INHUMANE ILLICIT GOVERNMENT EXPERIMENTS
  2. You can now use /heartshine instead of /modreq Well, That's if you want to, both commands exist!
  3. Hey Everyone! We are in the beginning stages of preparing the new map for Creative Revision 30! This poll and the following suggestions will be taken into consideration for our planning. We anticipate the revision to be launching in February (an announcement will be made 1 month prior to the launch date). Please provide us any of your ideas in the comments below, we want to gather your ideas for consideration! ~The Cadmins

    Creative banned items

How up to date is the banned items list? http://wiki.nerd.nu/wiki/Rules#Creative Didn't even realise dragon egg is on it and people are able to spawn them currently. Not sure if it's different for mods, but I'm also able to /i spawn eggs and even a monster spawner (when not in modmode)? Something broken?
  5. Hello Everyone! Below is the schedule we will be following during the change over to Creative Revision 30! - as per https://nerd.nu/forums/topic/3941-creative-revision-30-launch-date/#entry31956 - FEBRUARY 11th THURSDAY @ 7PM EDT CHAOS (Survival Mode, World Edit Disabled, PVP enabled, Griefing Allowed - All other server rules apply!) - FEBRUARY 12th FRIDAY @ 7PM EDT TNT PARTY (Creative Mode, World Edit Disabled, Griefing Allowed - All other server rules apply!) - FEBRUARY 13th SATURDAY @ 7PM EDT Revision 30 Launch! (Everything back to normal, with NEW map.) Timezone converter http://www.thetimezoneconverter.com/?t=7PM&tz=EDT%20(Eastern%20Daylight%20Time)& Here are some more details on the maps features and new server information: - The Main World will be 5000x5000 to start off, potentially expanding to 10000x10000 in small increments. The map terrain is naturally generated with some World Painted areas mixed in. - Challenger2 has worked very hard on a new plugin called NerdPlot. This plugin will allow players to instantly claim a plot ONLY within spawn city's pre-made suburb and downtown plots and the redstone playground. NerdPlot is smart enough to allow 1 plot per player in certain areas. Each player may have 1 suburb plot, 1 downtown plot, multiple redstone plots. Claiming any plots does not require a moderator, however if you want to add another player to the plot or be removed from the plot - you will have to make a /modreq Claim Spawn City and redstone plots by standing in the plot and typing: /nerdplot claim Other NerdPlot commands can be looked up by typing /nerdplot help - There will be a Classic Multiverse World with no world edit or flight. @ /warp classic. - Spawn City will form a ring around the spawn location(which is located in the main world). - Cardinal roads (North, East, South, West) can be connected to, but not blocked or disturbed. - The CTA will have a spawn city downtown and suburb station, tracks will be both above and below ground. - Redstone Playground will be available @ /warp redstone - this will have the traditional plots as well as much larger plots. The Revision 29 Map will be available for download shortly after it is taken down. It can be found at http://mcp-dl.com RULE CHANGES 1. Standalone redstone builds are required to be in the Redstone Playground. (This rule does not apply to builds that include redstone contraptions.) 2. Removing borders from complete or near complete builds. (Removing your borders will be easy with World Edit and it will look much better on the map render.) ~The Cadmins
  6. I'm getting tired of having to /ignore the same dumbases every time. Alternatively, have some sort of automated periodic report in /mb of top /ignored users, so moderators are aware if someone is pissing people off.
  7. Many minecraft players love their texture/resource packs. A different texture pack can completely change the overall feel of a build. Currently if a player wanted to encourage use of a specific texture pack when viewing their build, they would have to give visitors a notification via signs or a message upon entering the WG region, at which time players have to follow a url (or in the case of signs type the url manually), download the pack, put it in the right folder, activate it, then open the game back up. Contrast this with custom texture packs for a server, which gives the player a prompt upon login which allows the client to automatically download, install, and enable the pack while connected to the server. It's a very nice interface. This plugin allows worldguard region owners to set a flag which prompts players entering the region to automatically download/install a texture pack just as a server has the option to do. http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/worldguard-texture-pack-flag/ The plugin itself is very simple, as far as I can tell. I don't know if it works on the latest spigot, haven't tested it. https://github.com/mewin/WGResourcePackFlag When I suggested this a while back to sirtacoface and jchance when they were CAdmins the one issue brought up was that it might be annoying to constantly get these prompts upon entering regions. Given the simplicity of the plugin, I do not believe it would take very much to add in the ability for players to disable the prompts for themselves. Edit: clarification, if i recall correctly, it will only prompt you to download the pack - once you have it downloaded it would automatically switch to the pack upon entering a region with the flag set without prompting. Again, if this seems like something users ought to have greater control over, it does not seem that sticking a few lines in the code for such preference options would be too difficult. That's the meat of the request. Here's why I think this would be extra cool: texture packs that use unused data values of blocks in order to add additional textures to the game, expanding the palette of options for creative builders. The conquest texture pack is one such pack that has done this: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/resource-packs/1242763-conquest-wip-weekly-updates The first half of this video demonstrates a little bit of what can be done with this sort of resource pack: (this is the plugin he's using that lets players use a stick to change the data values, though worldedit could also be used - it would be slightly more tedious but it could be done: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/monster-blocks/) This video also shows a neat build that uses the features of the pack, and at time index 16:51 shows what the build looks without those features. The second cart he made looks ok, but the first one just looks weird without the pack enabled: Please let me know what you think of this idea. I don't play on C much at all, and I'm not a very good builder, but I've been stunned by some of the things I've seen C players create, and I would be very excited to see what they could do with the ability to prompt and automatically switch to specific packs for a more seamless integration of resource packs into the game.
  8. Good afternoon everyone, we are happy to announce a new building contest to take place on C! In the coming months we plan to start hosting events more often on the Event Server and to do that we are in need of Arena’s. Who better to build some Arena's than the community? Information Starts: October 11th 2015 Ends: November 11th 2015 We are looking for 3 types of Arena’s: PvP: An Arena that can be used for a variety of PvP Events ranging from Tournaments to Kit PvP, and more King of the Hill (KOTH) or King of the Void (KOTV): An Arena that has a point that players must race to get to and will fight each other to get there (Please no absurdly hard parkour, however some parkour is fine) Other: Have an idea for a different type of Arena such as a Mob Arena or Spleef Arena? Then it goes here, let’s see what people can come up with! How it works: We will be using the same system as the lobby contest: PlotMe. WorldEdit commands will also be the same. You will be able to claim 3 plots per person in which to build your design. Each plot is 100x100 however you do not need to fill the entire space. Groups builds are highly encouraged. SafeBuckets is enabled. You will need to /modreq for flowing water/lava still, sorry =/ WorldEdit is enabled for use in your plot(s) only, however most commands are rate limited to help server stability. Any abuse will result in a ban. The winner will be chosen by a vote on the forum. The contest is taking place on C in the 'Contest-Arenas' world. To get there type "/mvtp Contest-Arenas" OR "/warp ArenaContest" Please put a sign with the arena type and your name(s) in one of the corners on your plot. Rules All Nerd.Nu Universal Rules Apply Each player may submit 1 Arena for each category (for a total of 3 entries) Unused/Abandoned Plots can and will be removed and reclaimed All Arena’s must be no larger than 100x100 and no smaller than 50x50 We will not be importing builds, your build must be done on C in the Contest-Arenas World (/mvtp Contest-Arenas) Arena Requirements: PvP Arenas 2 Team Gates (No more than 2 teams) No smaller than 50x50, no larger than 100x100 KOTH No team gates, however can have multiple gates/entrances No smaller than 50x50, no larger than 100x100 Other No smaller than 50x50, no larger than 100x100 No other real requirements, besides be creative! Winners/Prizes Winners will be decided by a public forum vote that the community votes on. There will be one voting question for each category. The person with the most votes get first place, the second most votes gets second place, etc. Prizes: PvP First Place: Your arena will be used in the first PvP Event on E PvP Second Place: Your arena will be used in the second PvP Event on E KOTH First Place: Your arena will be used in the first KOTH Event on E KOTH Second Place: Your arena will be used in the second KOTH Event on E Other First Place: Your arena will be used for the first non-pvp/non-koth event on E All Other Places for All Categories: Your Arena will be used at some point for some event on E Commands: "/plot claim" to claim the plot you are standing in "/plot home" to get back to your plot "/plot info" to get info about a plot "/plot list" to list your plots "/plot clear" to clear out your plot "/plot add <player>" to add someone to your plot "/plot remove <player>" to remove someone from your plot "/plot dispose" to give up your plot
  9. Hello everyone, it's about that time! It has been a great revision 29 but it's time for a new beginning. A new revision is just around the corner. Revision 30 of Creative will go live on Saturday, February 13th! We're taking in consideration the results from the poll we posted (you can still vote, it's not too late). There's still lots of work for us to do. If you have any questions or suggestions leave them in the comments or PM one of the Cadmins if you'd like to stay anonymous. In the mean time, here are a few teaser pics! http://i.imgur.com/TgSnFwO.png http://i.imgur.com/wo30g15.png http://i.imgur.com/66wexmX.png http://i.imgur.com/YanWq0j.png _____________________________________________________________________ Just a reminder for the Speed Build Arena contestants: You still have nearly a month to complete/start your arena builds!! If your build does not appear to be complete, your arena won't make it through to the voting. Your arena MUST follow the guidelines presented at the contests warp area. If it doesn't follow the guidelines it won't make it through to voting. The contest world will be taken down on February 6th! A week before the rev launch and you, the public, will vote on your new Speed Build arena. It will be presented with the new rev, so get to work! - Cadmin Team
  10. Tonight we are pleased to announce that Hollifer will be joining myself and ExcessiveToker as a Creative Admin! She has been an active part of the Community for the past 1.5 years, first joining in 2012 and becoming a moderator in July 2015. Hollifer is known for her artistic style in her builds which are usually symbolic in some way. Being helpful towards other players and her contributions with Spawn City and Bigtown this revision has made her the perfect addition to our team. We look forward to the ideas she will bring to the Creative Admin Team! Please welcome Hollifer to her new position when your see her in game! ~The Creative Admins

  13. Hi there everyone! First of all, I wanted to thank everyone for their congratulations and such. I can't wait to work with everyone, staff and members alike, to help bring great things to all our servers. Next, I have had a few people ask me and other admins questions regarding my new position. To answer the first question I've been asked: yes, I do have quite a few ideas for different events for each of the servers and can't wait to set them in motion. Some time this week I hope to meet with all the server admins to discuss ideas and time frames so we can start things as soon as possible. In addition to the new events I will be running, I will also be hosting the moderator run arenas on Survival, speed builds on Creative, and (hopefully/possibly) that lovely game of Spleef on PvE. In regards to the Event server, what I hope to do is host three to four major events on it a year. The Head Admins and I are already discussing getting a donation event set up, so be looking out for that! All the other events will be hosted on our current servers: Survival, PvE, and Creative. I also want to take this opportunity to extend an invitation to the community to bring any ideas they have for possible events. My idea with this is not to take over any ideas the members of our community have but work along side you to make it happen. This way we can work together as a team to make our servers as great as possible. If you have any ideas, please don't hesitate to PM me here on the forums. Another way to reach me is IRC; if I am working at the office then just message LRO|Office instead of LadyRavenOwl. All of you are also more than welcomed to message me via Steam, my username is LadyRavenOwl. Speaking of Steam, another thing that I will start directing is Steam Events! I am looking forward to extending our community and having fun outside our virtual legos. If you have any ideas for that, hit me up and we can talk about it!
  14. It's been quite a while since the last, so we think it's time to have a Creative Community Meeting! It'll be taking place some time between November 30th and December 7th. So, I've set up a whenisgood page for you all to let us know when you can make it. http://whenisgood.net/nsmp7becreative -Don't forget to select your timezone, and don't forget to add your username :) The purpose of this meeting is to catch up with all of you, and discuss what you would all like to see in the future of Creative, and more specifically, Rev 30! If you have anything in mind you'd like to discuss during the meeting, feel free to comment! Once we get the results from the whenisgood page, another post will go up announcing the official meeting date and time. Thank you all! - Cadmin team
  15. This is the third Creative rev since WE has been introduced and it seems like a good time to evaluate land claim rules. Before the time of WE, only an existing build would qualify for protection. Players could build wherever they wanted to and then get protection. This prevented any form of un-used land. The current policy allows any user to create HUGE land claims and get protection before building. Pros: The owner knows they will have enough space to complete their build The owner does not have to worry about expanding Con: Many of the regions are huge and full of empty space It is difficult to find good building places after the fist week. (All good places are all claimed by then) Some owners will use their land, while some will not We could only grant small claims and expand them incrementally, but that has its own problems. Pro: * Less wasted land * Claims actually have builds on them * More time to get good claims Con: You can get boxed in, hindering long term and huge builds. ("hindering" is a bit of an understatement") Possible solutions: Any large claim of land that hasn't been used in awhile or doesn't use all the space could get shrunk by Cadmins. We would have to be very careful with this solution because it gets players the impression that their land claims could be revoked. Its like giving someone $100 dollars and then later telling them they have to give $80 dollars back. Maybe a type of "reserve" region system could be used. A player can make a large land claim like they do now. However, the player will only get a small chunk of the full region. The player can build in their small chunk and the "reserve" region will be unbuildable by anyone. As the player builds outwards, they can then claim and use up the reserve regions. Since the reserve regions are unbuildable, they can easily be revoked by staff and give out to other players. At the same time the player has piece of mind knowing that the land they do have won't be taken away. I would like to hear any feedback or suggestions about how to better handle huge regions.
  16. In the C redstone area I recently noted that this melon tower was cycling two rows of its pistons continuously (about once every 15 seconds). After noticing that I went in search of the potential clock to make sure it is left in an off state but found none. Instead I found a BUD switch, which ideally only triggers when a block updates, however with melon growth disabled in this area I'm rather mystified as to how it is continuously being triggered. While my technical understanding of the phenomenon is lacking, I do understand that it is continuously cycling pistons, a cause of some lag, which our "no continuous clocks" rule seeks to address. I would like to suggest that, that the rule be expanded (at least on C) to include that continuously active BUD switches must have an off switch and be left disabled when users are not present. You can observe the phenomena by tp'ing to modreq 1332 (as it only occurs in this specific area of the redstone device). Otherwise you can view triggered and untriggered states in the images below. Whole melon tower view Untriggered: Whole melon tower view partially triggered: BUD switch view triggered:BUD switch view untriggered:
  17. Hello everyone, We currently believe one of the main sources of the lag affecting the servers is a result of a failing SSD on our main box. The techadmins are in the process of moving the necessary data from the failing SSD to our secondary box before contacting the host to replace the SSD. We don't know how long this will take since it depends on the availability of our techadmins and our host. This may result in some downtime for some of our serveries including pve, creative, CS:GO, website, etc., so make sure to keep an eye on the subreddit and forums for any further announcements. Other things are also being done and looked into and we will make further announcements once there is something to update you guys on.
  18. Hello everyone, A few of us were talking on creative tonight about ways to increase the number of people participating on creative's speed build event, and we would like to hear if you guys have any other ideas. In no order, here are the ideas we came up with: A final speed build at the end of the rev for the winners on the speed builds throughout the rev, and the winner of that get's a prize (subreddit flair, special plot next rev, statue of them in next rev's spawn, etc) Museum of all the winners. Items for pve. Start posting on the subreddit and adding the events to the forum calendar.
  19. Hey Everyone, I Just want to remind all moderators who create regions for players on Creative to please leave at least a 10-15 block space between region protections. It is ok for the very large regions to butt against each other, but the small regions with plenty of free space around should not be huddled right beside each other - try to encourage claims that have a "buffer zone". Thanks for cooperating!
  20. Creative Revision 29 will have a Spawn City, please follow this guide for adding players to permissions in Spawn City. The types of plots are as follows: - Suburb - Downtown (skyscrapers) - Shop Players can find an unclaimed plot and type /modreq claim - type /rg i (To find out the child region name you are standing in.) Example: Suburb_15, Shop_5, Downtown_1 - type /rg addowner suburb_15 PLAYER After you have added the player to the child region, update the sign on the plot to show: - Plot number - Player name - Date added Example of sign format: Suburb Plot #15 PLAYER August 22 /signtext 2 PLAYER (to add player name to line 2) /signtext 3 DATE (to add date to line 3) The sign in the middle of the plot can be deleted after! Just have the andesite block with sign when you are finished. Please Do Not add players to the spawn city regions; SpawnCity_North and SpawnCity_South If plots go unused or are left unfinished and there is a demand for plots, they be reclaimed after 1-2 weeks. Thanks Everyone!!! ~The Cadmins
  21. All aboard the hype train!!! What builds you guys planning?
  22. This is for fanfiction about people on nerd itself (so not just minecraft). Anything goes on these fanfics, just have have warnings if it gets graphic, so go nuts
  23. The end of rev. is here! In order to race you builders to the end of the Rev. come join our final community build, the mobile city of TITANIS. Our most recent Warp. /warp titanis The interior of this massive city is open for building, and while we'd prefer tall builds that follow the winding roads paved throughout, we're interested to see whatever you will build in the final moments of the Rev. Residences, a library, entertainment venues, a market, fireworks cannons,...anything your heart desires. The interior is unprotected and ready for new builds without any waiting. /msg, /mail, forum PM, IRC, email, and smoke signal any questions to MasterCommaThe, and don't wait, the Rev. is NIGH!
  24. (copied from Bardidley here) Hello Everyone! The Creative admin team is pleased to announce the details on Revision 29! as many of you have been asking and waiting for. We plan to have Creative Revision 29 go live on August 22nd, 2015 Specific times for the chaos/tnt party and the switchover to Rev. 29 will be announced in the approaching days. Enjoy the teaser video/music courtesy of SirTacoface https://youtu.be/kXvB7nZDTN8 Also here are some teaser screenshots from the map which myself and ExcessiveToker have been working hard on. http://imgur.com/a/7khkd The current Revision 28 map will be available for download shortly after Revision 29 has launched. Thanks Everyone! Time to hustle and finish your unfinished builds! ~The Creative Admins
  25. Hey their everyone, this is something I have always wanted to do and I intend to push really hard to get this going. I want players to be able to host their own events on the server with staff assistance if needed. When I was a player I always wanted to host official Mob Arenas or Spleef Matches but was turned down by staff because we don't do that. I want to change that and open event hosting to all of the community. I want to do this however without granting any sort of extra perms to players and to do this they will need staff assistance and support. This is what I propose for Player-Ran-Events. Info Players submit a document following a specific format (that I will write up at a later date) that will include information about the event. Such as what server they want the event to be on, what kind of staff assistance is needed, what the prizes are (if any), and other details regarding the event. The goal here is to have the player completely run the event and only have staff assistance for things they can not do. These are the things that I feel we should offer to players: /o and /broadcast usage (announcement on the servers) Teleporting short distances Prizes EasySigns All of the above would be done by a designated staff member for the event and not done by the player. The player(s) running the event would be in a clanchat to communicate with the designated staff member. The initial launch of PREs would not include players building something on E in Creative and then having it transferred over to P, C, or S. However this is something I would like everyone to comment on as I think it is a neat idea. Essentially a player would submit a idea proposal, let's say a 5K for PvE. They would build it on E, then next rev PvE it would be transferred to the map. How would server admins feel about something like this? If it is on S or P it would not be put in the world, it would be put in a MV World or under spawn where players can not do block damage or bring things back to the overworld. Rules Draft Event must be hosted on P, C, S, or E Event must not take down any other servers (You can not do something like the fundraiser where all servers are taken down) Prizes can include any item that is obtainable through survival gamemode. Can have a custom name or enchantment (such as a fish with Protection 2). Can not be anything to ridiculous if on PvE or S (ex: giving out stacks of diamonds). Staff reserve the right to halt an event if problems are to arise Approval Process The approval process would work like this: Player posts event submission in the correct format EAdmins overlook it to see if anything seems unusual or a bit extreme (such as huge prizes) If nothing is wrong, it will be overviewed by that servers admin team If all server admins and EAdmins see nothing wrong it is approved Event is built/hosted This is my initial proposal of Player-Ran-Events to you guys and this is definetly subject to change. Please leave any feedback you have and if you would be okay with something like this.
