update text on nerd.nu/applyformod

Current text on the page says: "Submitting a name will send it to the admins, and give you a little something for

taking the time :D"

Previously submitting a name would direct the submitter to a humorous video. The site that was used for this no longer functions, and that redirection was altered so that now submitting a name directs the submitter to a page thanking them: http://nerd.nu/applyformod/thanks.php

There is no "little something" offered anymore.

I suggest that either the text be updated, or some other cute/amusing video/image be visible on the "thanks" page.

Given how this page has been updated to be more serious and names are pulled for consideration, it makes sense to keep that more professional layout with no cartoon unicorns (as much as they can be fun).

My suggestion would be to show an image of the moderator nominations process after a name is submitted or redirect to a topic (I'm sure there have been some mentioned / stickied).

What if we keep it more serious, however we add a link on the side to an odd video under the title of nostalgia or something or just something to link back to how it was? Just ensure that it is merely a link back to the old applyformod joke and that the new one is genuinely serious.

Dumbo has updated nerd.nu/applyformod/ to now include a place for people to add a reason they are submitting a player, updated the text, and updated the theme to better match the theme of our website.

Nice. Thanks Dumbo, and thank you for letting us know, Mrloud. This thread can probably be locked/archived now.

Locking / archiving as requested.

Thanks for putting forward the discussion Mumberthrax and to everyone who got involved in the resulting responses (myself excluded as that suggests I'm stroking my own ego, which I don't have), I'm glad we achieved something with this idea.

I'm now pulling names of people being submitted via applyformod, to the private mod forum at least on a weekly basis, alongside the reasoning shared in the comments box.
