Terrible packet drops when connecting from Europe

I'm getting terrible packet drops connecting from Europe, to the point where I cannot even log in without timeouting. Sometimes when I get lucky, logging in or going through portals takes just 2 minutes.

Is there anything that could be done about this?

I have a very similar blip in my traceroute, nothing to worry about. The bad hop you are seeing is likely the ddos filtering or some other internal gateway, why it would decrement the IP TTL I don't know, but it is not a cause for concern.

EDIT: Confirmed that hop is an internal gateway.

 

The packet loss between yourself and us appears to be the worst as it passes through the LGI-Infrastructure network. Sadly I don't have any friends in RIPE to pursue the issue further. Best to contact your ISP

E: are you able to identify a single router, or is this just the whole network that's dropping them? Could you PM me some logs of how it looks like from your end?

Are your hops through their network and the primary source of your packet loss when I connect from the server back to you ( your router drops all packets but that's to be expected )

 

Traceroutes can however be misleading, your ISP will be able to debug the problem better

I'll contact my ISP then. I guess they won't do anything anyway because that's just how customer support works where I live. So it's probably VPN time again.
