Suggestion: Can we have some kind of event to distribute clues to help narrow down the location of the unfound spawners?

Our Response: We have plans to discuss the remaining custom spawners hidden in both the overworld and nether within the next padmin meeting this weekend. We'll follow up with our plan of action in our public meeting notes and go from there. Short answer - yes!

Suggestion: end crystal plugin should extinguish the fire before it converts the item to a drop

Our response: Thank you for your suggestion. End crystals are set up as close to vanilla as possible, without allowing them to cause grief. The persistent fire works as a partial replacement for the explosion you would experience in a normal game. At this time, we don't feel it's desirable to diverge from vanilla further, when end crystals can be crafted with relative ease.

Suggestion: Make the /vote rewards apply to everyone from the same IP since you can only vote 1 time per household

Our Response: This particular suggestion is not one in which we can help with directly, so we will not be responding to it here. Instead, we have passed on the suggestion to the head admins where they will seek to respond to it accordingly in the head admin suggestionbox. Should you have lobby-specific suggestions, or head admin suggestions, running /suggestion-box on the lobby will go directly to them.

Suggestion: start of this video as minigame - sphere randomly filled with air or TNT, some creepers start in the middle, your score is how many TNT you retrieve after <time>

Suggestion: I had an idea to help promote community interaction! Address Book. It's like /place but for people. Allow players to mark a location they call home so other people can more easily find them. /address bob to be pointed towards bob's house

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion - we do like to see new avenues opening up for community interaction! We do have a suggestion in response to your own suggestion; With the use of "/setwp <name> public" ( http://wiki.nerd.nu/wiki/PvE_Information_Guide#Waypoints ) you can set up a list of publicly accessible waypoints and collect them all in a post on the forums, or subreddit for people to easily find various homes which may not have a place marker on the map.

Suggestion: can /stand have ability to control view distance on the name...?

Our Response: With regards to view distance on the server, this is overseen by tech admins to ensure optimum server stability. We are not looking to have any form of view distance set manually for this reason.

 

Suggestion: redstone block tech admin doppels

Suggestion: hadmin and tadmin dopples should be special too. more heads and technical challenges!

Our Response: We felt that both of these suggestions were similar enough that we wanted to put a combined response together. Thank you both for putting out these ideas!

We have different doppelganger costs for padmin doppels as they directly feed into the costs for iron golem spawners. Other admin doppels do not feed into any special costs and we do not wish to extend any changes in the cost to any other doppels. In regards to other admins, they would potentially see increases to their own skull costs - when as players themselves, it wouldn't be fair for them.

Suggestion: golem-soul-like drops for other blocks that can be traded at spawn for equally useless trophies

Our Response: We really like this suggestion and already have some ideas for implementing something like this into the next revision, as it would fit into the theme there. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this idea!

Our Response: Thank you for your submission. We are not looking to request tech admin time into this particular suggestion as reconnecting to P, while on the same server is currently possible either by disconnecting and reconnecting, or by running /lobby first.

Our Response: Thank you, all three of you for submitting this suggestion! We think this could be a fun idea to include, and would be completely willing to consider any plugins which have this feature, for testing on pve-dev, and then submitted to the entire P community for discussion / feedback. We've yet to encounter a plugin which has this feature yet but if you find one, please send it our way!

 

Suggestion: Horse levelling should scale with the number of people on the horse

Our Response: Given that this means of travelling is an unintended bug, we will not be looking to implement this suggestion.

Suggestion: Make rider capacity a levelable stat for horses. 2 diamond blocks fed=2 riders, 4 more diamond blocks=3 riders, 8 more diamond blocks=4 riders, etc

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion, we've taken this into consideration based on the recent bug which has had groups of people sharing the same untamed horse.

For the moment, we will not be looking to request a permanent implementation of a feature such as this. We would be interested to learn of the consequences when two people who share poor connections are trying to share the same horse, and would prefer to avoid creating situations where one individual steering a horse could kill their passenger, creating new ways for pvp deaths to occur.

 

Suggestion: separate limits for rabbit colors (like sheep)

Our Response: We took some time to discuss your suggestion and have decided against implementing a change here. Moblimiter limits are in place via the tech admins to keep a handle on server stability, where there are sheep divided by colours as they provide a block resource, we do not see a resource benefit for requesting an increase to the moblimiter limits for rabbits.

We would instead recommend to use name tags to retain any rabbits that you wish to keep. Please be mindful that large quantities of animals do contribute to server entity lag as on occasion we do have to reach out to individuals who are breeding excessively.

 

Suggestion: add thelvadumee to the list of hunted ppl :smile:

Our Response: We do like the idea of having other people added to the roster of hunted people during admin hunts, though one of the primary issues we would encounter are all permission-related.

For example our creative admins currently have a more difficult experience getting set up for each life in the admin hunt. Additional steps are needed due to differing permissions on P. One of the other key concerns related to permissions would be that any admins who are hunting others to kill, would be able to see hunted people getting set up in the hunt arena - and this would provide a significant advantage.

Sadly, we do not see a way to make this happen at the moment.

Our Response: Thank you very much for getting back to us - this video is a good demonstration of the gameplay of this type of event! We have passed this onto the head admins who oversee the minigames server - as a reminder, all suggestions for the head admins can be submitted directly from the lobby in between restarts, if you wish to take a more direct approach.

Suggestion: for admin hunts: instead of dropping a shulker box, said box is auto-placed at their death site with the killer on admin perms. would allow them and only them to pick it up

Our Response: We took your suggestion under consideration as we can understand the frustration of putting effort into pursuing an admin, only to lose the prize box. It is for the same reason, that effort of pursuing an admin that we are not going to proceed with this particular suggestion.

During the admin hunts, we witness cases where the people who spend a lot of time chasing a single admin, possibly doing the most damage to them, don't always get the killing blow or the loot thereafter. If we were to award the shulker box just to the person who landed the killing blow, we could potentially be cheating another player out of a prize. There's no easy way to judge this fairly and so, provided the admin hunts continue, we have opted to retain 'luck of the draw' for both kills and loot, rather than have people prevail upon our judgement at every admin kill.

 


Suggestion: pvp enabled region closed off from the rest of the map at a corner? nerd.nu does not facilitate pvp properly anymore and therefore loses potential players

Our Response: We can certainly see an appetite from some to expand the reach of the pvp elements on Nerd. From our understanding of the player versus environment server, we are not the server to expand into this area. P is intended to be largely open to exploration, where people only need to worry about the environment and mobs themselves as a threat.

While we are not going to pursue this suggestion ourselves, we would recommend submitting this idea, or others related to pvp combat, with the head admins (the suggestion box on the lobby will go directly to them). Keep in mind though that all pvp-orientated servers have already been switched off, or has no current activity.

Suggestion: /hmount command to put you on your horse if it is close enough (as a work around for the invisible horse bug)

Our Response: We understand the frustration of horses deciding to make a great escape through invisibility as we experience this often too. However, given that moving 10-15 chunks away and returning, or simply relogging can fix this issue, we don't feel that it is worth requesting tech admin time to pursue another workaround to this.

Suggestion: /place has grown huge, can we have /place nether and /place overworld to make the list easier to parse without huge chat scrollback?

Our Response: For the moment, we're not looking to make any further changes to place as the next step is likely for it to become a plugin of its own, where new features can be included. During that process, we'll ensure that your feedback is included in the feature-list.

(edit: Just an added reminder that you can run /place <setname> to return only the list of places associated with a particular set, such as /place settlements )

Suggestion: A (streaming) tag on server list like the (afk) tag. That way people can know who's live and streamers don't have to spam out links to remind people

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion, we do see a need to have something that would better identify people who are streaming, though we don't feel that tags would be the right way forward with P, given how we avoid ranks.

However, we've put forward a new command for P, for the tech admins to consider which would address the points in your suggestion. Hopefully the command works out, and if it does, we'll be shouting about it further down the line.

Suggestion: I wanted to ask if you could make the moblimiter thing modreqable , i dont want massive farms but things like slime chunks (slime cull is 4 oof) or some other animal farms, it would be good if you could modreq it and ask to have almost 10

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion, we are happy to review specific requests with regards to moblimiter but this is not something we currently see a need to adjust in the case of slimes. From our interpretation of your suggestion, we gather that a clarification may be worth making in terms of mob spawning and moblimiter. Moblimiter will not prevent slimes from spawning in numbers greater than 4, the issue is that when on a multiplayer server, the available mob spawning is spread across the loaded chunks, so it is typically better to visit the custom slime spawners and their respective grinders in these cases.

Suggestion: Change admin hunt pluging to automatically give prize box to person who killed the admin, not normal drop

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion here, this is an element of the admin hunts that we have considered in the past, and reconsidered again today. For the moment, we have decided against making this change as described, as we do not believe that this change in this form would increase the fairness for participants.

During admin hunts, many people put a lot of time and effort into chasing and hitting admins, only for someone else to get the final hit and _potentially_ the loot too. At the moment, there is an element of pot luck when it comes to the drops, where multiple people are engaged, similar to all mob drops in the game.

Applying this change would only ensure that getting the last hit on an admin would reward the prize, which may not always be the person who may be considered the most deserving (based on their effort). Implementing this change would still see complaints come through that someone had stolen their kill.

We've created some incentives for admins to die more frequently, in the attempt to hopefully see a wider array of people getting admin kills and have plugged up a exploit which should even the playing field again.

Suggestion: Followup to that other guy; instead of last hit getting a loot box, you could calculate who did the most total damage to the admin and distribute it that way. Other than that I'm alright with the current system in place.

Our Response: Thank you for adding your thoughts to the most recent suggestion! Your feedback here is certainly exploring what could be the start of a fairer loot distribution system.

We will keep an eye out for any ways we can improve upon the admin hunts based on your suggestion, and any others which may come about.

Suggestion: Would love a '/mail sent' for those times when you send a player a mail and then forget their username...

For the meantime, we'd encourage you to contact an admin to help to find usernames for situations like this.

Suggestion: Just a thought; since mob heads have been available via GoneBatty for awhile now, wouldn't it make sense to remove the ability to gain them from Doppelganger? It would make them more trophy-like for the collectors.

Our Response: While this does make a lot of sense to do, unfortunately it would not remove the possibility that anyone with an alt could update the skin, cycling through any and all mob heads they want to obtain - to use with doppelgangers.

 

Suggestion: Can we hide "Offline" output from /cm unless specificially requested?

Our Response: From the new revision, we'll look to request an additional command for clanchat which would only display online channel members.

Suggestion: Add alias /suggestion or /suggest? The hyphen's kind of cumbersome.

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion. While adding shorter aliases for the command is something we may look to implement in future, we find the present number of players engaged in the use of it to be high enough that it doesn't seem to be a major issue overall. Don't forget you can also message us directly in game, via the forum or subreddit, or start a discussion topic of your own on any issue.

Suggestion: Would be awesome if you restored the map world stuff from before map world was preserved (pre-rev20 I think).

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion. At some point in Revision 22, we'll look to bring back former mapworlds as view-only for a few weeks or so, allowing you to request any plots you wish, to be moved to the live mapworld, so that those maps will carry over too.
