Suggestion: Please reduce or remove time limit to obtaining elytra, if you're already gating it through other means (mining). 6 weeks seems far too long

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion. We do understand that with such a change to elytra such as this, it's going to be a very different experience in the way that affects the gameplay on P, particularly until elytra is released.

At the moment, we will not be implementing any changes to this date. It is far too early for us to consider any such changes, especially based on a single suggestion. We spent a great deal of time reviewing the feedback across the revisions, including the countless posts that individuals submitted in regards to elytra, leading up to the Revision 21 Reset, the survey and the mid rev feedback topic.

We have carefully implemented these changes to try something different, in a way in which we feel is fair to all - Having elytra unlock for all at the same time provides an opportunity for those who, previously would lose out to obtaining the generated elytra, to be on a more level playing field.

We will be continuing to listen to feedback on the elytra changes, and will be further assessing the current implementation over the coming weeks.

Suggestion: +1 level of experience on fossil drop

Our Response: Experience gains are not a part of our intent to focus on, for finding fossils. We will not be looking to make this change.

 

Suggestion: fossil (quartz) block

Our Response: We don't have any use for this currently but we will keep this in mind for any potential additions!

 

Suggestion: Please remove or change the iron golem soul sound, it freaks me out every time

Our Response: The sound is there as an audio cue to match that you are receiving an iron golem soul. We will not be looking to change this. Instead, we'd recommend disabling your sound for item drops.

Suggestion: Elytras Sooner, Had we known people were trying to take away OUR RIGHT TO FLY, we would have been more active in the pro-elytra discussion.

Our Response: We have already responded to the request of bringing forward the release date for elytra, above. Though we do want to add some further comments to your suggestion here. The importance of engaging in feedback topics is vital, so that we can make informed decisions on potential changes. Complaining about the change, having not given feedback is a bit similar to complaining about an election result - having not voted.

For the elytra discussion in particular, this was one of the most engaging conversations we've seen over the past year which spread across various topics but seemed to really open up here and here, right before the Revision 21 reset.

We're conscious that complete removal forever would not be the right step to take, as there is a place for elytra on P. The changes we have made were greatly considered for both sides, and we are very interested to see how this shapes the server in the coming weeks. Our changes may be too much, too little, or just right and while this is something we will discover together in time with your feedback, for now we intend to stay on course.

Suggestion: Add custom recipe to make nether wart blocks be craftable back into 9 nether warts. The fact that you can't do this is silly game design by Mojang.

Our Response: Given that netherwart can be farmed, and there are rumoured areas of netherwart in the nether, we do not feel that implementing this recipe would be a productive use of time.


Suggestion: With remaining portals only opening one at a time for the next six weeks, and 3 of the 6 initial portals being located on the NE of the map, how does the PAdmin team plan to balance this to avoid other map areas feeling neglected?

Our Response: The availability of the first 6 portals in their current locations is intended. Once all 6 have been found, reach out to a padmin and we will happily explain our thought process.


Suggestion: allow players to modreq region biome change
Our Response: This would not fit into the spirit of playing on a survival server, we will not be granting these requests.

Suggestion: make golem souls tradeable for non iron golem related things (I have way too many, have no use for them)

Our Response: We have future plans for your golem souls so don't throw them in lava just yet! Potentially in the form of a community collection once more.

Suggestion: Is there any way to tone down how ugly the world border is? It really detracts from the appearance of builds near the edge.

Our Response: Yes! You can update the visual of each block type within your resource pack, including for the world border. It may be worth reaching out on the subreddit for support on how to do this more specifically.

Suggestion: A death message that says "The last words of [player] were [player's last chat message]

Our Response: Thank you for your death message. We collected community-wide submissions for new death messages only last revision, where we expanded from around 90 to around 460 brand new death messages.

We are not currently looking to add to the existing list but keep an eye out in the far future for any further death message updates.

Suggestion: a horse hydration stat where they require water less often as they're trained up in it (trained by drinking less often)

Our Response: We wish to continue not to complicate the current horse leveling system. The hydration element of horse leveling was added to prevent afk leveling.

Suggestion: Disable fall damage in the 3x3 landing pad at spawn and have the "welcome" message region be at current y+5 so riding through spawn doesn't spam your chat, but new players will spawn and fall through the notification

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion, we will explore alternative uses to region greetings at spawn - and aim to implement sometime next week.

Suggestion: Please make a way to severely punish people who leave villagers locked in trading areas!

Our Response: We do share your frustration at the lack of etiquette being respected in these cases. Unfortunately, we have no fair and consistent way of moderating these situations.

Suggestion: I would love if there was a command to check your horse's hydration level to avoid unpleasant dry-mouth-surprises :slightly_smiling_face:

Suggestion: 8 amber = special glistering melon = instant health X potion

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion. We have added it to the list of ideas for future trades, should we decide to expand on our present plans.

Suggestions: Shulker area and ender chest near Mapworld sign.
& also the return to spawn sign should send you back to the mapworld sign, like in 21, not the actual spawn point

Our Response: Thank you for your submissions! We have a shulker area already set up, just around the corner from the mapworld warp signs. Click here to view a gallery of three images to find it. Enderchests are also available at the mapworld warp signs now. Additionally, we have relocated the exit sign warp location to put you back in the mapworld gallery.

 

Suggestions: Recommendations for Padmin candidates.

Our Response: While we appreciate your ideas, we don't generally accept padmin submissions through suggestion-box. We pursue a detailed and thorough evaluation for future padmins, and take into account many different attributes, some more obvious than others. When a new padmin has been chosen and accepted, we will certainly let you know about it!

Suggestion: feeding dino bones to wolves gives them a permanent stat boost (infinite absorption V/X? infinite strength V/X?)

Our Response: Thanks for your suggestion - we're presently not looking to further expand our Revision 22 plans for additions to the fossils, as we see how they play out over the course of the early rev. Please keep an eye on the subreddit / forum for updates on what is happening in game!

Suggestions: Please remove all the special spawners from the nether before they are found. They will ruin everyone else's experience when people AFK.

&

The nether is a Bad Place to put special spawners, please reconsider this decision. Especially for the shulker spawner.

Our Response: Thank you for your submissions. During the reset process, we did receive this feedback both in a suggestionbox submission and during the mid-rev feedback topic, as well as the opposite feedback. While both sides weighed heavily in our decision for whether to include custom spawners in the nether, we have decided to keep them there.

We have mentioned within the information post that coming soon, will be a different approach to the distribution of wither skeletons across the nether, as well as other custom mobs which will help for the wither skeleton hunt. We are currently testing these changes, however, if this fails to help with any issues you may be experiencing in the collection of wither skulls, we will look for additional ways to mitigate problems.

Ultimately, the nether has been a craft of hundreds of hours and we do not want to see this world reduced to a place where people don't explore, or spend time in, other than to hunt wither skeletons. We feel that the nether has so much more to offer and would be wasted if we settled for less.

Suggestion: Please reconsider a nether shulker spawner. It will encourage AFKing in the nether, which I believe may result in dissension among the players, which we observed last rev.

Our Response: We already responded to this today, please check the former post!

 

Suggestion: Could we have an update at the three-week mark with statistics like number of rails laid, etc? Would be interesting to see stats on how no-elytra affects infrastructure.

Our Response: While we're stepping back from blogs, we will look into communicating these facts and such through other means!

 

Suggestion: A mini-event for the weekend of April 1st where ores drop "fools' gold" (real object type TBD) would be fun

Our Response: Thank you for your idea, we may have to pass this one by as April Fools tend to work best without any prior warning!

 

Suggestion: change the text when hitting a player from "you call this archaeology" because it doesn't make any sense.

Our Response: We'd recommend the original Indiana Jones films for reference points! If you've reached the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, you've gone too far!

Suggestion: add a plugin that lets us hydrate blocks in the nether with a certain block

Our Response: We do not wish to make this change to the nether, as it goes against the gameplay of the nether.

 

Suggestion: Change doppelganger plugin to allow players to get heads using a UUID, instead of an actual name. - Sapph

Our Response: We responded to a similar suggestion back in December, so we're just going to reiterate from then. We don't see a need to include UUIDs currently for doppelgangers as using names are far more convenient. Anvils are limited to a 30 character renaming limit which does seem to be exceeded by the length of a UUID too.

Suggestion: armor on those custom mobs is dropping, it should have names/lore at least

Suggestion: ...also it should be #000000 on the wither archer one

Our Response: We're trying to give techs a bit of a break at the moment, as techs want to play too(!) - but these are interesting ideas that we will consider for any future changes that may take place.

 

Suggestion: shop at spawn for giving low-level enchants to mob heads

We're not sure of the purpose of this suggestion - please get in touch again, and explain further!

 

Suggestion: It's really frustrating that sending a horse from Nether to Spawn portal can put it ~300m+ away from where you come through because you appear at a random corner. Please consider changing how spawn portals are arranged!

You're right, it is a bit frustrating. We can't change the mechanics of the nether portals, but we have added warp signs at each portal to help you quickly get around the spawn portals to find your errant horse, friends, pet rabbit etc. Thanks for pointing out the issue - we hope this solution helps!

Suggestion: villager - bounty hunter? exorcist/priest? sheriff? - at spawn, that will buy the extremely numerous drops from the custom nether mobs (apply lore/names to these to prevent abuse via just crafting them)

Our Response: Thank you for your idea, we do like the sound of some form of bounty hunt - we'll considering working something in at a later time as we have a number of other tasks to complete first.


Suggestion: slimefun plugin

Our Response: While jetpacks and such sound fun, that doesn't fit into the server playstyle.


Suggestion: custom ghast with extreme projectile protectioni

Our Response: On this particular idea, we do think that would create a rather overpowered enemy, particularly as they can attack from beyond the view distance. We've ended up dismissing some of our own custom mob ideas for various reasons too.


Suggestion: /tpa so its easier to get to people

Our Response: The server is intended to create a survival experience, with a focus on the versus environment. Due to this, we won't be implementing this command. There are however, a number of portal and road networks set up to help you move around the map more easily and the livemap will help you to find your friends easier too.


Suggestion: more memes in death messages

Our Response: While Didy and I love memes like a hole in the head, we are not looking to update death messages any further as we had recently spent a great deal of time working with a whole new batch of community-sourced death messages.

Suggestion: fossils should be biome-specific (different set depending on biome) to encourage player trading

Suggestion: fossil drop sound should be two dings, low-high

Suggestion: quartz-based fossil that's actually rare but you have to read the description and it doesn't stack with commons

Our Response: We aren't going to be making any cosmetic changes to the fossil hunt at the present time, in order to ensure a consistent experience for players, and to allow us to focus on what's coming up, rather than what's already been released.

 

Suggestion: What if some of the archologist trades were for decoration heads that you cant really get on here with dopples. mainly some of the nice ones on creative, like book stack, flowers, screens, food etc/

Our Response: Thank you for your suggestion! We do have plans for decorative skulls to be made available throughout the revision, just not presently. In the past we have released them in line with various events and plan to continue doing so!

 

Suggestion: the new mobs make wither skulls entirely too easy

Our Response: We've heard contradictory feedback about our new nether mobs - we'll shortly be looking to gather more information from players as a whole, in our early revision feedback survey.

Suggestion: new map art being showcased should go up for voting on the forums

Our Response: Thank you for your idea, we think this is better than what we had planned, so we will be using your suggestion!

 

Suggestions: I would love to see the Rare drops be given some special purpose beyond "amber fuel" - it would be SUPER COOL if there were display stands at spawn and if the server worked together to hand in 300 raptor bones, a raptor statue was built etc

Our Response: Thank you for sharing your ideas! Sadly, we are unable to track the individual villager trades this way but we plan to explore a community collection in future and are looking for suggestions as to rewards, in the open community survey currently.

 

Suggestion: a gravestone plugin so people's things don't despawn - its a stupid mechanic

Our Response: We will not be looking to implement this idea. Death in hard mode is a risk, and we do not wish to take away that element of the gameplay as it will trivialise dying.

 

Suggestion: sand deposits like clay deposits underground

Our Response: While it is too late for us to make ore changes to the current generation, we feel that with the livemaps coming up very soon, the sand hidden in both the nether, and overworld will be easier to find.

Suggestion: rather than wither skeleton archers, we should have stray archers that all have good bows (that they don't drop) - this would cut down on the incredibly easy state of skull gathering at the moment

Our Response: We are observing conflicting opinions on how easy it is to gather skulls in the nether at present, and are giving it a little more time so that people can form better judgements so that we can make more decisions about how we might change things.

Suggestion (4x combined):

Shop at spawn for giving low-level enchants to mob heads: to give them an even remotely okay use for wearing/obtaining! Specifically low level so you don't have an overpowered, infinite durability helmet. There are even some under-utilized vanilla features to look into: https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Attribute. Certain particularly speedy or damage-heavy mobs' heads could provide extremely minor bonuses to movement speed or attack damage respectively. Or you could do minor health bonus on something. Massive amounts of amber could offset any trepidation regarding implementing this. 100 amber for a health or speed bonus (or some Enchant!) on an infinite durability helmet that provides no damage reduction.

Our response: Thank you for providing additional information on your previous suggestion, as requested. We will add your ideas to the list of possibilities for future additions to the revision.
