Hello rukEEEa,

I’m writing to appeal my ban for x-ray mining ancient debris in lava.

I want to be clear about what happened. I was playing with several performance-related client mods installed. I wasn’t using any X-ray mods, ore detection mods, or resource packs intentionally. I believe one of the performance mods made lava more transparent than normal, which allowed ancient debris to be visible while mining in lava.

At the time, I didn’t think of this as X-raying, but I understand now that mining ancient debris this way can still count as ore detection and isn’t allowed under server rules, regardless of intent and I take responsibility for that.

I’ve been playing on the server for several years and have always tried to follow the rules and play fairly. I wasn’t trying to cheat or gain an unfair advantage, I just got excited by the idea of finding a bunch of netherite. If given another chance, I won’t use or rely on this method of mining again.

Thank you for taking the time to review my appeal.

Hello, long time player (since rev 26) and friend of Palladium here. I just wanted to share that I believe Palladium was not even aware that his actions were against server policy. Mining for netherite in lava is a widely used technique, and Palladium did not even install a mod (which upon speaking with him I discovered the culprit was voxy) with the intention of making lava transparent. He has also been very helpful in making Snotown what it is today. It would be amazing if we could avoid rolling back the nearly 250 hours of honest work Palladium has put into making Snotown what it is today because of a misunderstanding of the rules and using a questionable mining technique that could have also easily been done in vanilla Minecraft. If this can't be done I will sadly be stepping away from nerd.nu for the time being as I don't expect to have the motivation to rebuilt a good portion of Snotown. There was no malice in his actions, and I hope this can be successfully resolved.
