I pretty much ignore every single popup I get from steam because I get so many of them. The only way I'd notice them is if they stick around like chat messages.

God I wish we still had downvotes

The community is fine, just different. After all this time, I've simply just realized I don't enjoy minecraft anymore. I'm sure that the reason for a number of our vets leaving (among other reasons, certainly). This just seems like a post created solely for the purpose of stirring shit.

It's not mudslinging if I'm correct, by the way. But sure, if you would like to go through some of my previous posts and upvote them feel free too.

That's funny, considering you've downvoted a few of my contributing posts BeastBruiser.

I agree, i don't really like the upvote/downvotes either.
Huh, weird. I wonder why that is.

Yep, we've been around for pretty much as long as people have been playing minecraft online.

While we're on the subject of bans being private or not, perhaps implement a system where the banned player can request their appeal become public? It would still allow for privacy and help alleviate some of the earlier mentioned issues, while also allowing transparency if the banned users feel like they have been treated unfairly.

Good to know we have a friendly, professional player(s) on nerd that care about the servers and don't just want to cause trouble all the time. Thanks, Jauris.
You're welcome. I'm glad I can be of service.

Read between the lines? Of what exactly? The rules clearly state what is and what is not acceptable. Only in a few cases is it not clear and those cases are dealt with.
There are a number of rules that are open to mod / admin interpretation.

Rather than having the inventory randomized, why not have kills award players a set amount of points based on the gear the player was wearing, as well as perhaps the "rank" of the killed player. These points could be redeemed at something like a vendor or sign in spawn for exclusive items. (Think valuables. Diamonds, iron blocks, ghast tears, or even unobtainable items like spawn eggs.) Obviously the killed player will lose all of his items, and I would still suggest some of them drop for the killer as well. Perhaps not the entire inventory, but they certainly deserve something besides points. The player killed for points will need to be wearing armor, obviously, as well as the killer.
Additionally, I would suggest that once a player is killed, they will not award points for a set time period. This could be set at something for like 15 minutes, to help lessen camping and the "farming" of points. In a similar vein, when a player has been killed by another player enough times in a set period (12-24 hours, perhaps 2 - 3 kills), they will no longer award points to the killer.

I'm sure many of you may have noticed this post:
https://nerd.nu/forums/index.php?/topic/2137-overhaul-of-rules/#entry15109
Why were none of these changes brought forward and discussed with the community, rather than changed on the wiki and then announced immediately?

Or just ban the user and keep it enabled for everyone?

Apparently someone was abusing the feature, but I don't see why you had to get rid of it for everyone else. It was a nice feature, and it felt good to be able to tell people happy birthday when the time came. Why use an axe to fix the problem when you should have used a scalpel?

.... I wasn't agreeing with you. I will never notice the popup if it flashes and is gone, that's why the one you need to click away would be preferable for me.
