  1. Whatever. While I respect your rules, I think your interpretations and execution of them are silly and founded in poor logic. I hope you realize that there's a point where you can try to be so politically correct that you're no longer politically correct anymore. I bid you good day sir.
  2. IG Name: honkey40 I have played on the Reddit minecraft servers for a little under a year now. I've seen multiple revisions on the Survival server mostly, and I even had a permanent residence in Menzoberranzan on the Creative server. I have never had any stink about my name being racist or derogatory until recently, when suddenly the topic came up that the term 'honkey' is racist and offensive just an hour or so ago on the PvE Server. People on the servers were comparing it to the 'n' word and shortly after I was kicked before even could argue my justification. Since when is HONKEY a term that is considered offensive on par with the N word?! Have you guys ever heard of Honky Tonk, another word for country music? There's a million radio stations out there that have Honky Tonk in their actual tag, why would they put that there if it was racist?? The Jeffersons was a hugely popular family sitcom back in the 70/80s, the main character constantly referred to his neighbor (who was his friend) as Honky! Would you kick a person for joining who was named Turkey? because he called him a Turkey too! Another one of my really popular names that I use all the time on games is JiveTurkey but apparently I would get kicked for that as well! People argue that it's a racial slur for white people. It means a white person, that's correct, but it's not exactly a racial slur. "Slur" connotates criticism, disapproval and disrespect. If honky had any of those connotations, it wouldn't be nearly as widely used as it has been all over American media. It's more of a cutesy term that is made popular by white people! They're the ones watching the show and listening to the country music! That's like saying Uncle Kracker is a hateful musician because his name means "Uncle White Man". Sorry if I sound so riled up; this is just really frustrating. I'm the furthest thing from racist or disrespectful on any server and to be banned for it really grinds my gears. EDIT - Also, for a final point, I realize these rules are in place because of the worry that some users may be specifically offended by my name and don't want to see it or have to play next to it. I would argue that the term "honkey" is already so pervasive in our culture - in TV, movies, and even music, all of a PG nature - that it would establish precedence that the name honkey is decent in a public setting and not considered overtly racist.
