Greetings,

 

Although this may sound a bit comical, I was banned from the Reddit Minecraft servers approximately 2 years ago for an act of griefing I did not commit.

 

If my memory serves me correctly, the whole incident went down like this: On the s.nerd.nu server, I built a small secret base on a beach very close to another base. This was during the days of people appearing invisible to certain other people; I took advantage of this, and killed the owner of the base next to mine in the name of looting since he couldn't see me. While I appeared invisible to the owner of the base, everyone else in the area could see me (our bases were both incredibly close to spawn).

 

After killing the owner of the other base, I left the area to join a clan/faction. Shortly after my departure from the area, the other base was griefed.

 

Seeing as everyone in the area saw me near the base, it was assumed (key word, assumed) that I was the griefer. The admin on at the time asked around for confirmation on whether or not I was the griefer; most people in the area thought I was. I was very vocally stating in chat that I wasn't. The admin asked if and why I did it, and I replied that "I was NOT a griefer". However, as I was typing my side of the story, I was banned.

 

This was during the days of Team Avolition's repeat attacks on the Reddit servers, and I guess the admin thought I was just another one of their fanboys. 

 

I wasn't.

 

Now, you're probably wondering why I have waited so long to appeal, and the answer to that is simple: this all took place before I was actually a Redditor. I thought you guys were morons for what you did. However, now that I'm becoming active on Reddit, I can see this is not the case. You guys were under a lot of stress at the time from Team Avo, and just wanted to clean up the server. While this doesn't fully justify banning an innocent player, I can tell this wasn't done due to stupidity.

 

However, now that I'm actively playing Minecraft again, I'd like to be able to play on your lovely servers again.

I'd be surprised if it went down exactly as you say.  It's my understanding that the staff were always held to a much higher standard of proof and we would have been running LogBlock, I believe.

 

Nevertheless, 2 years is an awfully long time.  Please read the rules (http://nerd.nu/rules) and reply below stating that you will abide by them and you can be on your merry little way.

Yes sir, and please note, I said that following my ban. I was quite butt-hurt about the whole ordeal at the time.

 

I've long since realized that Team Avo is not the "anti-dumb server squad" that they make themselves out to be.
