I didn't see anything around it and I checked the rules on reddit before taking it. It didn't say anything about taking stuff that is found so I assumed it would be okay. TLDR, sorry, my bad. Not sure how you missed our rule about griefing. It doesn't matter that it was unprotected, you can't break blocks that belong to other players without their permission.
