I was recently banned for griefing on c.nerd.nu. The building I griefed (I did grief it) was very close to a build that some of my mates from p.nerd.nu were working on. Going along with teh general theme of the build, I created a scarab shooting a beam at the building. For realistic effect, I was going to have to beam fork when it hit glass and destroy the inside of the building. I just blindly assumed that the building was theirs.

 

It turns out that the building wasn't theirs, and I ended up getting banned for the beam. If I knew it wasn't theirs, I would have gladly repaired it. I'm not trying to cause any actual grief.

Socarch26 will be along shortly to deal with the ban, but I wanted to take this opportunity to talk with you regarding a few things buzzie and I came across on P as well that ultimately ended with his adding of that second note.

 

You added builds/redstone contraptions to the top of two other players builds in a town all three of you belong to:

 

 

 

Do you have an explanation for what these are and how/why you built them?

 

Modifying other players' builds without their permission is grief and griefing is not allowed.

 

Since we're here I'll also just remind you again about the other note, that NSFW builds are also not permitted.

 

Socarch, please take these additional factors and Centallith's replies into consideration when setting a ban length.

To avoid confusion, I'll label those pictures. The first one is Difficult1's house, the second one is SleepyOatmeal's.

 

On Sleepy's house I built a prototype for a door (which is now finished, by the way). He was on vacation, and on our small island his roof was the largest flat surface we had around. Unfortunately, he came back before I could take it off of his roof. He left me some mail, and I took everything down the same day. This was before I knew how to use /mail, but looking back I would have just /mailed him a heads up. Here is something like what the finished door came out looking like:

 

 

 

The build I made on Difficult1's house was broken by design.  I had some extra diamonds from hollowing out a large hole, so I decided to build a machine to distribute a diamond every 5 minutes (4th giveaway, usually weekly events that get destroyed after I'm done with them). The picture below is an overview of what the redstone on the inside looked like. Basically, when an item despawned on the pressure plate, a signal was sent to the NOT which activated the giveaway dropper and the control dropper. I was never able to find out why this one didn't work, however. The reason I built it on Difficult1's house is because he is smack-dab in the middle of town square, so residents would walk through and randomly acquire a diamond.

Since it didn't work, I was going to destroy it. However, before I could, we all got on C so they could work on tanks and I could make my scarab. Actually, my memory is a bit fuzzy. It was either the day before or the night I got banned. Either way, the night I found out it didn't work and wanted to disassemble it I wasn't able to.

 

Finally, on the NSFW build. We have a drone in the sky that reads "The NSA is watching you". One night, some mates decided to get together and make a dirt farm drone in the sky with trees, potatoes, and carrots. One thing lead to another, and the build became increasingly phallic.  One of the nincompoops from the island said something about it, and kitcat told me to take it down. It was down the same night. 

 

I feel as though the redstone builds were justified, albeit executed poorly in regards to coordination with other island members. I do take full responsibility for the NSFW build, and would understand if that effected the length of my ban.

Hey Centallith, thanks for admitting to your mistakes. Keep in mind that you should never alter other players builds without their permission, even if you know them. Repeal in two weeks on August 17, quoting which rules you broke. Obligatory pictures.
