Modification of the Month #29 - July 2025
Welcome Back to Modification of the Month
Each month, we bring you the latest updates from the TAdmin team. In the past month, we've been busy with:
- Given up crying over the rapid updates from Mojang and accepted our fates
- Continuing our
1.21.51.21.61.21.71.21.8 updates.
Before we dive into the details...
NOTE: The list of updated plugins does not indicate 1.21.8 Soon™, but we're hard at work to bring it as soon as possible! Also remember that the list only contains in-house plugins that belong to Nerd. Any plugins that are third-party or are in-house and already working will not appear there apart from the plugin counter.
Why are these updates taking so long?
It's been a bit since I've included proper information in one of these blogs. These updates aren't just to get our plugins up to speed with 1.21.8. They're also to get them more optimized, easy to manage, and less bloated than we currently need them to be.
In the time that's passed since a lot of our in-house plugins have been written, third-party alternatives have popped up, or better library/API plugins have appeared. A good number of our in-house plugins have been replaced with these third-party plugins. They've had to go through extensive testing and approval to ensure we're still aligning with the view of the server.
For the plugins we couldn't replace, we did update a number of them to enhance performance, add new features, and make them easier to use. A few plugins required full rewrites, which is why it's taken much longer than originally anticipated. A benefit of this is that a lot of these plugins have been future-proofed and become easier to add new things to, should we wish to do so.
We're almost done :). Thank you all for your patience.
