  1. ok, old man, slow typer here.  often, while playing I see a modreq come in.  by the time I get to Mod mode, someone has it.  my best chance honestly is when there are multiple reqs in queue.  my filled req numbers are then low as compared to others.  if that means I'm part of a house cleaning, so be it.  metrics are needed for tracking, I understand.  however it also seems to build a class stacking of whom can do the most.  I do not like that.

also, of note.  I get a number of "drive by questions" that can not be tracked, as we all do. I feel that this is as important if not more so in day to day activity.

my 2 cents and ten minutes of typing....

  2. I believe it will be fairly hard to set modreqs as a base, it should be a factor though. I personally have had this subject close at hand.  I feel as though I might be a C+ mod since I am kind of vagrantly playing as of late.  this is due to work, health and family activity.  I have been through enough resets to value the need for mods at refresh and would plan to clear as much time as possible. I agree that activity, reqs, and overall review  should be components weighed.  I also think that new mods (and existing) should have knowledge of any expectations set prior to becoming ( or continuing to be a ) mod.

  3. Creating "Role Variety" will be called ranking regardless of what it might designate.  it will create an implied structure and devolve into class warfare that will eat the server.

I will play as I have since the beginning, helping where I can, regardless of role.  this is an open community, and should work to stay that way.  I have changed my player name in an attempt to stay unnoticed, this allows me to help players without being accused of abuse.  imagine the player environment when "modlist" is run and we see players listed that cannot do certain things?  I got roasted earlier this month playing off my "normal" hours by a player that expected me to "just fix" an admin issue.  once I sorted it all out and elevated the request, i was heckled  with questions regarding when the request would be filled, until I logged.  i would not like to have that happen to a "trusted Player"  or anyone for that matter.

  4. hey peeps !! so sorry, a sort of unexpected need to be away from most all tech since July 1st ( certification testing, and sadly failing)  then an health issue.  and  finally , thankfully a vacation that has just ended.  my appologies for not informing anyone, it all happened a bit fast.

TL:DR - was gone, now back

  5. I have a note from a long ago past on S... it stated that I can be a jerk.  it serves as a warning to myself that I need to weigh each interaction.  do you all need to know that I can be a jerk?  I believe that notes should be reviewed, and potentially eliminated.  I would wish that my reminder not be though.  - just me view.

  6. I fully endorse the initial Solo Portal.  I have been speculating on building solo in the nether next rev and would welcome ideas for bringing in a larger repeat player population.  the idea of mid rev ( or throughout the rev) distribution of portal is very appealing also.  I stressed heavily this rev regarding initial rush for portal and did not enjoy that time.  Last rev, Wellspring flourished (!?!?) without a portal.  and this rev is dead.  i believe a portal does not make a town and would love to see the mid rev road structure when portals are not at town centers.
