    Hey opiu7891,

You were banned for killing all of the cows at the end grinder.

    HIHGz0I.png?1

(when I arrived there were no cows there, the cow there in the picture was placed by me, I forgot to take a screenshot beforehand)

In the future, please remember to leave at least 2 animals in a public farm so that others may use them.

Reply to this post with the rule that you broke on nerd.nu/rules and I will unban you as soon as I can.

  2. Alright. So this thread is about $pudcoins. If you believe that a different item would do well as a currency then by all means do it. I'm simply introducing the aspect of this and only this. The base price of a $pudcoin will always be up for debate and the item used is not. If you wish to open Flintcoin or LilyBucks, then by all means do so. I think now is the time that I should speak up and say that there is no discussion about what item is used. $pudcoin is a renamed poisonous potato. That's it.

  3. I think asking the admins to modify the server for any type of player-run currency is too much. The idea of $pudcoin is to simply make something unusable into something usable on the server. Normally, whenever you get a poisonous potato, you toss it without a second thought. $pudcoin makes them valuable. Flint isn't a bad idea, but it's so much easier to get a doublechest of flint than a doublechest of poisonous potatoes. I should also add that flint isn't finite resource, you can trade with villagers to get flint too.

  4. This is one reason why we are introducing $pudcoins. It is entirely player-ran, prices are negotiable, and I think it'll be fun to see who can mine the most of them! The "prices" of items on P change as the rev gets older anyway, and $pudcoins can make up for that. And like I said in the post, if you aren't a fan of $pudcoin then that's okay, you don't have to worry about it.

  5. So one thing that I haven't come to a decision about is the shorthand for $pudcoin. So what do you think it should be? I've seen people use SPUD, $c, SC, and some others, for example.

    • Allowing towns custom portal sizes

I feel like this point is separate from the others. Therefore I will say something about it.

This rev (and last?) cities were allowed to choose the blocks that would replace the 4 obsidian at the corners of their claimed portal. I see changing the size to something that the city (or whoever/whatever claims it at any point in the revision) would like it to be is no different. If there are technical reasons why this wouldn't work then that would be a good reason to not do it. Otherwise, why not? Portal customization is not new for PVE.

  6. Hm...I can't think of a way to explain it (also haven't done it in a while), but there's a way to filter items using hoppers that involves a comparator and some other redstone, spreading 4 of the item across the slots and then an amount ,depending on your redstone length, in the first-draining slot.

And after typing it out, my brain begins to work.

Place the hopper with the bottom end facing a block, so it won't automatically drain.

Use the comparator to sense how many items are in the hopper, then loop redstone wire from the comparator back around to the side of...either the same hopper or the one underneath, I forget which.

When more items are places in the hopper (someone throws something in the hopper above), the comparator signal will reach around and activate the targeted hopper, causing the items to drain, leaving some items in to act as a filter since they'll stop draining once they reach a low number, since the redstone won't reach anymore (only potatoes named "$pudcoin" can enter the stacks of the same type).

if people wanted to make shops using redstone, it'll work just as well as if they used gold or any other item for that matter. The only catch is if the poisonous potato is specifically renamed to "$pudcoin" it'll stack in the hopper if it is named correctly. This means that if there is a poisonous potato named to "spudcoin" it won't work.

  7. I doubt that $pudcoins will be worth much. Poisonous potatoes are simply too easy to get.

This is true, but the 2% chance of getting a poisonous potato from a fully grown potato plant + the iron needed for an anvil + the experience needed to rename it makes it just valuable enough to be used as currency. In comparison, a US dollar is just a green piece of paper with ink on it.

  8. Hello citizens of p.nerd.nu!

Have you heard of the recent internet currencies known as Bitcoin and Dogecoin? Well Sapphric and I would like to bring a new type of currency to PVE! $pudcoin [spuhd-koin]!

    What is $pudcoin?

$pudcoin takes the rarity and uniqueness of a poisonous potato to new heights by making it a note of currency!

    How do I get $pudcoins

       1. By trading with other players, silly!

       2. Renaming a poisonous potato to "$pudcoin" (how you get a poisonous potato is up to you)

    How much is a $pudcoin?

That is to be determined by the economy of the server! A $pudcoin may be worth a 64 Diamonds or 2 Dirt, it's up to the traders in the market.

WondrLand, this is so dumb. Why in Lever's name would you and Sapphric introduce such a silly concept?

Ah! That's okay, stranger! You don't have to participate if you don't want to! $pudcoin is simply for those willing to try out this new form of economics on the server. You may continue to trade as you always have, but understand... people may find $pudcoins to be extra valuable.

  9. Hmm... I'm not so sure that having a strict number about what a city collectively has is a great way to determine portality. Sure that will encourage activity and city interaction, but at what point does playing minecraft become a chore? A city shouldn't have to fill a quota of materials and active members to be deemed portal worthy, I would recommend that a city should be granted portality if they are a great benefit to the server and the community sees that that particular city should get a portal.

  10. Ok but no big name Youtubers do look for that type of sever though they want the fun minigames that gives them short but fun videos.

I disagree, there are many different larger Youtube channels that produce mature(er) content than others. We are not a minigame server, so I wouldn't expect someone who normally visits minigame servers to visit our server.

  11. I know this sounds silly, but maybe reaching out to popular (good-natured) Youtubers for a server tour or something? I know one in particular has started traveling to other servers (in particular only minigame servers so far) to get them more attention. I don't know if money is involved but if they do it for just asking that would be very nice. The only downside to this and why I'm apprehensive about it is that if I invite someone to the server (chances are they'll say no, but if they say yes), that they'll spawn the wrong type of players to the server. That being said, if we are advertising elsewhere, then I guess that risk is assumed anyway.

EDIT: aaaand I just realized this was mentioned in a post above this as "video bloggers" oh well here is my opinion about that then

  12. I understand minigames draw attention to servers and they are great fun. However, that's just not who we are. We offer a close-as-possible-to vanilla experience that other public servers don't really offer. Besides, we want to get more people on the servers we have now, not servers we would use to bring people in.
