Something new has struck up, I haven't seen before. It is related to the rollbacks and the weird major block lag. We would all be playing then blocks wouldnt place and then the whole server would time out, but, we would all time out sepearately, like I would time out, then 2 seconds later my friend, 2 seconds later another person, and then we would all join back in and 2 or 3 blocks arent there. It's strange...

I know I've heard techs are looking into things, but sometimes it just acts crazy. I know p used to have crazy issues back in like revs 7-9. Many of the problems there were mob related. I know C had made some changes recently, maybe some of the added features are causing troubles. I don't remember, was compass enabled? I know it was never enabled previously due to lag issues. Keep in mind I'm just throwing ideas out here.
Oh good point, Yes compass was enabled as well as horses so that could cause something... Also I've noticed some players (won't mention names) like to ask for a sheep or something to spawn, I don't know if they actually get a sheep, I've only heard about it. But the horse thing I feel could be related if you're saying that many past issues were due to mobs.

This is an ongoing problem with all players of C affected. One minute it will be fine and then the next 8 out of 10 placed blocks will disappear. Everyone on C today was reporting it, so I don't think it was an issue with an individual players connection or my own.
It has been reported by everyone from Aug 6 on and seems to be happening more and more.
Just adding on to this report, I think it got worse because since Aug 3, I was experiencing it only when I placed blocks in a fast fashion, so I assumed it was some sort of plug in doing that, but it escalated even more up to today, Aug 8, to where, like jchance stated, 8 out of the 10 blocks placed just disappear.

I'm also seriously wondering if this is a map expansion issue? I just asked around the server earlier because I was watching Heysofia build and after the restart, she didn't lose anything. But, Gaberios17 lost like 10 blocks of work and he was farthest away on the map (dont know the coords sorry) and Derpherpington1 lost only like 3 blocks and he was a little bit closer to spawn than gabe, and Sofia didn't lose anything and she was the closest to spawn. Do you think the farther out you are in the map, the more blocks to lose? I don't really know if that could be possible or just a coincidence but damn, that was strange.

So I left to take a break and when I went to log back in I get "Failed to connect to the server: Error lookup up user". I tried searching all over google to find the issue since I have never seen this kind of screen before. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Again another update at around 3:21 PM EST rollback happened but this time it was more drastic than I have ever seen it, I dont remember how much but friends and I were building a horsetrack thing and we had a whole lot of redstone under it all and then everything went away, this was at x -14.14 z 2275 if that helps.

No, the map is constantly saving, however if some sort of hacking problems were to arise, the "map saving" is taking a copy of the map to put in another location. if C were to crash, it should not loose more than a minutes worth of work, unless the server was once again hanging, but players remain able to interact client side(which happens right before these mysterious crashes.) As far as I can tell its the same problem we were having 2 years ago, where chat on the server worked perfectly, but placing blocks does not.
The chat working and placing blocks does not happened last week if I remember correctly. Switchviewz was on when that happened and no commands would work too. It was quite strange. But one more update: Server crashed again at the same exact time it did yesterday (ive been keeping track in my head) so I don't know if its a coincidence but it happened. I lost the same amount of work as well...

And Update: The server timed out and we rejoined and a few blocks were missing from everyones build, wasn't drastic so I assume that was just normal lag though. This happened at 12 CET and I was in the pixel art valley if that helps.

Update: Everyone crashed and went to the lobby and then rejoined and some things were slightly gone (approx 20 blocks off my build and 1 minute lost from someone elses), this time not as much. (thankfully). Happened according to Aypop at 4:01 A.M. EST, most of us were at spawn if that matters. there were about 6 people on, 4 of us at spawn, 2 spread out in the world. (I was watching the livemap). Hopefully this helps a little.

I can't tell you why it happened, but going to ask you some things to help the techs see what went wrong. What day did this happen, and what time as well as timezone? Do you know about how much work you lost? By that I mean was it about 2 hours, so the entire period between restarts, or maybe a longer/shorter period of time?
Ah this happened CET at around 10 this morning, so if you are in america, that would be around 1 in the morning for you. Gaberios17 also mentioned this happened once last week but didnt say exactly when. I lost about 20 minutes of work, well everyone did, we were all disappointed after the server reset, however, some of the work during that time was still there, it was only the last 20 minutes. I hope that makes sense.
Not sure if related, but Creative has been having issues restarting lately. Several times in the past week it has restarted without coming back up and we've had to get a tech, and more recently when it does restart it takes a really long time to do so.
Yes, I've been present when that happens, and it happens quite a lot. This morning it did that but only for an extra minute I believe, I think you were there for that one. Also happened a few times later where its delayed.

So one lovey afternoon of playing some Minecraft I decided to build more on my parkour, I built a giant mountain and added redstone for puzzle parts and everything, it was crazy cool and I was having fun building it, but then the server did its reset thing... okay thats fine, happens... I relog back and its all gone. Everything I built was GONE. Enkription was building his thing and all of that went away as well as many other people complaining about their builds just going away. It was strange because I remember the map saved, is there a reason for all of this to happen?

eh I'm not new to photoshop, what happened was that I wanted to get rid of the fat on my neck and then I slipped and I thought it looked cool so I went overboard with it. and I posted because I can.
