  1. I've read everything and I'm going to make a short and sweet reply since I had a very long conversation about this with Avada in game: 

     

    We're always open to suggestions for the server. What we are NOT open to, and what caused all of this in the first place is using exploits to bypass our current system. We're also open for building with players and sharing plots. We realize that you've done that quite a bit, that doesn't concern us. The exploits concern us. Had it been a popular demand or a simple request in the first place we would have had no problem increasing the limit on Spawn City plots for players after waiting for a while. We have already discussed this as a team and we will be increasing the limit on Spawn City plots for everyone. Not sure what the exact numbers will be but we all agree that 2 doesn't seem like enough. We don't like giving special permissions or treatment to individual players (which is practically what we did by letting you keep your 5 plots). I also don't appreciate the direction this thread went, or the direction it started off in. It's very passive aggressive (hardly passive) and not very "civil". This SHOULD have been a discussion thread about Creative policies rather than a "can I please have my plots back" thread. 

     

    In the future, if anyone has suggestions/concerns, please contact us before breaking it. We, on a regular basis, add new features and change things based on player request. Your suggestions/concerns will not be ignored by us.

  2. Hello! As you all know, Speed Build takes place on Creative every Saturday night at 9pm EDT. Last year we had special Halloween Speed Build events! We'll be continuing that this year, of course (and every year until the end of time). Here's some info on when/where/whatnot:

     

    • WHEN- Saturday, October 22nd AND Saturday, October 29th at 9pm EDT.
    • WHERE- Creative server at /warp speedbuild.
    • RULES- Originally, we let the winners of the rounds pick the themes for the next round. Since this is a special event, we'll have the themes for each round pre-planned. Also, there will be 3 10min rounds like usual, and then a 15 minute bonus round (4 rounds total). All other rules will stay the same.
    • HOW TO ENTER- When you get to the arena, fly to a plot and just stand in it to get building perms when the round starts. When the round is over, you might want to see if someone else who hasn't played wants to join the next round since we're limited with plots. Sharing is caring!

     

    Hope to see you all there on the 22nd and 29th! It'll be lots of fun.

  3. We're nearing Halloween, that means lots of fun Halloween events! For the next two weeks, we'll be running a Pumpkin Carving Contest on Creative. We will pick 3 winners pumpkins to decorate Spawn with at the end of the contest.

    The contest begins literally right now and will run till October 9th!

    • You can get there through c.nerd.nu with /warp pumpkin 
    • Once you're there, stand in a plot and claim it using /nerdplot claim
    • Players may only claim one plot each.
    • You may build with your friends!
    • We won't judge a non-pumpkin build.
    • There are no building standards, your pumpkin may be any size!

    We hope you all can have fun with this contest, happy building! 
     
    Finally, I'd like to briefly mention that we've added a new multiverse, our Map World. You can access it using /warp mapworld on Creative. Builds that are not for map use will be removed.

  4. Today we're very happy to announce that Torteela will be joining Bardidley, Hollifer and myself as a member of the Creative Admin team!

     

    Since he first joined in August of 2014, he has been a very active member of the community on both PVE and Creative. He joined staff as a moderator in February of 2016. He's known on Creative for becoming very connected to the community and very helpful for anything Creative may need, which is why we've decided to bring him on board. 

     

    We know he'll have a lot to offer to the Cadmin team, and the Creative server itself.

     

    Please welcome Torteela to his new position when you see him!

  5. Hello everyone!

    As mentioned in this post we will be launching Revision 31 of Creative this Saturday, August 6th!

    Here's a schedule for when we'll be changing over to Revision 31:

    - THURSDAY AUGUST 4TH @7PM EDT CHAOS (The server will be in Survival Mode, World Edit Disabled, PVP enabled, Griefing Allowed - All other server rules apply!)

    - FRIDAY AUGUST 5TH @7PM EDT TNT PARTY (The sever will be in Creative Mode, World Edit Disabled, Griefing Allowed - All other server rules apply!)

    - SATURDAY, AUGUST 6TH @ 7PM EDT Revision 31 Launch! (Everything back to normal, with NEW map.)


    More map info:

    • We will be launching in version 1.10.2!
    • The map will start off at 6k x 6k, expanding in 1k increments all the way to 10k x 10k.
    • Spawn city/suburb plots will be using NerdPlot again, just like Rev 30.
    • There will be NO cardinal roads this rev, it will be up to the players to build roads, and their own series of highways throughout the map.
    • Premade warps will include Spawn City plots for houses, buildings and new marina plots for boats and ships! As well as Pixel Art and BigTown as always. Redstone Playground will be available at with 2 different plot sizes to choose from. All of these premade warps can be accessed with the /warps command.

  6. Hello all! It’s that time again. A new Creative rev is fast approaching and it’s time for yet another Speed Build arena building contest! 

     
    The contest winner’s arena will be featured in Revision 31 and will be used for our weekly Speed Build competitions at /warp speedbuild. 
     
    Contest Details: 
     
    - The contest will be open until the final WEEK of Revision 30. Rev 31 is TBA but we’ll let you know as soon as possible. 
     
    - The community will vote for their favorites during the final week of the current revision and the winners arena will be revealed in Rev 31!
     
    How to Participate: 
     
    - Contest will take place on c.nerd.nu
    - Enter the contest with /mvtp world_speedbuild
    - Find and stand in an empty plot and type /nerdplot claim
    - You may use World Edit within your plot.
    - You may add other players to your plot with /rg addowner 
     
    Building Guidelines: 
     
    - Arena plots are 250 x 250
    - Your arena must have at LEAST 16 plots. More is fine. 
    - The arena building plots must be at LEAST 25 x 25. Larger is fine. 
    - Can be any theme you want.
    - All server rules apply, of course.

    Spawn City: Have another world for just serious cities, and then keep spawn city for more casual builds

    I'm agreeing with Bard here: City regions can get messy but it wouldn't help the server any to have our main attractions all in a separate world. It would also be tough and a bit unfair to try to determine/judge who builds the "serious" cities. Not to mention, it would add a ton of confusion for new players. 

     

     

     

     

    What about just having spawn city on one side of spawn, and then having just everything off on the other side of the spawn being freebuild?

    That's a great solution for helping newer players realize that this isn't a plot based server, thanks. Having a circular area around spawn seemed like a nice idea at first, but to a new player it really does just look like we're a plot based server if someone doesn't bother to take a minute to fly around. The issues we had during revs where free build areas were exposed from spawn was a lot of scattered, derpy small builds and a ton of grief on a daily basis. We'll see what we can do to prevent those issues and also make it more clear to a new player that we're not a plot based server. 

     

     

     

     

    I'm in favor of more beautiful worldpainTED maps. Vanilla has grown boring after half a decade of Minecraft.

     

    Also, ideas for a new addition to Spawn City. Perhaps if the city could be built next to a sea, large lake or ocean, there could be a harbor area complete with piers which can be claimed for players to build ships in. I think this would be a welcome addition seeing how C loves their ships.

     

     

    I LOVE this idea! We have so many great ship builders, and water and ships and whatnot would look really great in Spawn City :D I can see this happening next rev!

     

     

     

    Make the end larger and give more space for scifi or outer space builds, or just make a space world like in rev 29. I would really enjoy being able to make a much more space builds (star destroyers, space stations, planets, etc)

     

    Currently, we just expand The End when needed. Personally, what I'm afraid of are MASSIVE unused claims from people who get a little too excited about all the space :P. We had this issue in Rev 29 a lot. In my opinion, it should start small to prevent this, and then be expanded when needed (like we just did recently), similar to the Overworld. 

     

     

     

    I wouldn't mind seeing spleef tournaments every now and then. Spleef seems pretty popular on the servers so a good spleef tournament/competition would be a really good addition.

     

    I definitely would like to add 1 or 2 more regular events like Speed Build to C. This would probably call for an entirely separate poll. If we did add another event, I'd like to see how many people on the server would actually attend them. Elytra races also sound super fun, especially with these snazzy powered elytras we have now. 

     

     

     

     

    The quality of what will go beside spawn isn't necessarily more encouraging to new players than a spawn city. And I believe either way that the spawn region would reach the render distance and it would never be possible to see free build area without moving from log in spot.

    It's really not hard to notice that we're a free build server if new players would take a minute to fly from Spawn. However, this rev we plan on coming up with a good way to compromise. Somehow have a Spawn City, and also make it clear and visible that we're mainly a free build server (and hopefully keep out all those derpy little builds that tend to pop up around Spawn and Spawn City).

     

     

     

    Again, thanks to everyone who took the time to post their feedback. We're looking forward to implementing all the great ideas and getting started on Rev 31!

  8. The Speed Build arena contest is officially over! You will have the next 5 days before the Revision 30 launch to vote on your favorites! We had a total of 5 finished arenas. Sorry for those of you who did not finish in time, your arenas are not included in the poll. The contest winner's plot will be revealed when the new revision launches. You'll be able to see it at /warp speedbuild as always! :)

  9. Hello! As you all know, Speed Build takes place on Creative every Saturday night at 9pm EDT. Christmas is coming! So, just like the Halloween events, we'll be having TWO weekends of Christmas themed Speed Builds!

     

    • WHEN- Saturday, December 12th AND Saturday, December 19th at 9pm EDT (regular time).
    • WHERE- Creative server at /warp speedbuild.
    • RULES- Originally, we let the winners of the rounds pick the themes for the next round. Since this is a special event, we'll have the categories for each round pre-planned. Also, there will be 3 10min rounds like usual, and then a 15 minute bonus round (4 rounds total). All other rules will stay the same.
    • HOW TO ENTER- When you get to the arena, fly to a plot and just stand in it to claim it. When the round is over, you might want to see if someone else who hasn't played wants to join the next round since we're limited to 12 plots. Sharing is caring!.

  10. Alright, I've gathered the responses from the whenisgood page and it looks like the best date for everyone is

    Sunday, December 6th at 8pm Central time. (Time zone converter).

     

    The meeting will take place in Mumble, and I'll probably be making a temporary channel for the occasion. If anyone has anything specific they would like to discuss during the meeting, please comment on this post or add something to THIS document. We'll be recording the meeting just in case some of you can't make it. Hope to see you all there! :)

    • WHEN- Saturday, October 17th AND Saturday, October 24th at 9pm EDT.

    • RULES- Originally, we let the winners of the rounds pick the themes for the next round. Since this is a special event, we'll have the themes for each round pre-planned. Also, there will be 3 10min rounds like usual, and then a 15 minute bonus round (4 rounds total). All other rules will stay the same.
    • HOW TO ENTER- When you get to the arena, fly to a plot and just stand in it to claim it. When the round is over, you might want to see if someone else who hasn't played wants to join the next round since we're limited to 12 plots. Sharing is caring!
    • OTHER INFO- Speed Build on Saturday, October 31st will be canceled! I'll be absent on Halloween, as well as the other Cadmins (possibly), and won't be able to host it.

  13. I think this should be mentioned that it's probably not the best Idea to keep the middle "/modreq for. . ." signs after the plot is claimed. I'm starting to get modreq's for plots that are already claimed.

    It's sort of expected that the player who claims the plot destroy the sign and start building.... but too often, someone will claim a plot, then leave it for a day or two and leave the sign up. I guess it all depends on how fast their req gets finished. We could start removing those "modreq for..." signs though, not a bad idea.

  14. I like the idea of making the entire spawn area ( and maybe about 30-50 blocks beyond it) PVE. There's always an issue with spawn camping. Since making it against the rules would be difficult to enforce, disabling PVP around spawn sounds like a good solution to prevent spawn camping as much as possible. Also, I'm 100% for disabling PVP in shop areas too.
