johnl1479
With CTF coming up this weekend and the donation drive as well, I was just curious as to if, however unlikely, Nerd is registered in the US or other countries as a non profit, so any donations can be deducted from income taxes. tompreuss
Any donations made are likely not tax-deductible, either in the United States or other countries, because the we are not registered as a non-profit organization. Please check with your tax advisor to obtain more information.
johnl1479
Thanks Tom. The lack of 501©3 registration answers the question. Out of curiosity, can you or any head admins speak to the possibility of becoming registered?
GMMan
Multiplayer gaming service as a nonprofit organization? That sounds a bit weird. Not sure what criteria there is in defining who's a nonprofit and who's not.
johnl1479
IANAL, but at least in the US: http://www.irs.gov/Charities-&-Non-Profits/Charitable-Organizations/Exemption-Requirements-Section-501©(3)-Organizations

SpiderMan
Donations to this server are definitely NOT tax deductable, they don't meet the criteria posted by the IRS to be able to be deducted from your income taxes.
