  1. Sorry for taking so long to deal with this appeal. There were some notes regarding this account being used during a ddos attack, however I do not think that you were apart of this. I suggest changing the password on your account to be sure that it is no longer compromised. Please read our rules located at http://nerd.nu/rules .

After doing both of those things reply back here stating that you have done so and I, or another staff person, will unban you.

    Thank you for your patience.

  2. So with timed bans, i can see this happening... player comes on, griefs a little. Logs off. Gets banned a day later. Doesnt come back on for a month or 2. Logs back in. Ban length has expired. Player never knows he was banned, let alone that he ever did anything wrong and in my eyes, cant really be heald responsible for past actuons that he may not ever be aware that they did.

  3. What you see isn't a hack. All you are seeing is a history of your edits. This is not a tool for detecting ores, simply a visual history tool. We have this available because we are staff and we have access to a players logs. Nothing more, nothing less. I'll leave this open for a bit if you would like to reply, otherwise it will be closed and we will see you in a month.

  4. Well, even if you don't publically announce a mass amnesty, those who disagree would undoubtedly still find out about it and then explode about not only the amnesty itself but the lack of transparency in its implementation.

hence the reason I'm against it all together. Just seems like it's going to be more of a headache than its worth. I mean, the people who will benefit are either, people who will probably never play here again, or ones that won't remember they were banned in the first place. All All it will accomplish is giving us an unnecessary headache.
  5. He means how we keep track of people who have been unbanned (for purposes of identifying repeat offenders) - afaik MCBouncer doesn't keep records of unbanned players.

We could use a bot to auto-populate notices of amnesty in the ban appeals section (basically appeal for them).

Probably, but again, this would publicly announce that we are doing this, which I'm pretty sure will induce a ton of unnecessary drama from people who disagree.

  6. I'm still for at least making people appeal. Also, how would we keep track of older bans? An appeal is how we keep track of them now. Would we add notes? If so, then will essentially be announcing that we are getting rid of old bans, and I can see the drama session that will be created on the forums from this.

  7. I do like this idea with the exception of what jchance said. When you have a Rev reset date set so far out in advance, everyone will quit building the entire last month before. If there is a set date, then when new players join, they may leave if the reset date is a month away rather than then building, since we normally only announce the end of revs a week to 2 weeks in advanced, this normally doesn't happen.

Edit: might rewrite this later after I wake up and am no longer on my phone. I'm sure my grammar is horrible.

  8. I'm one of many who are kinda sick with that so called tension, lots of people just come to the servers to build and play, but apperently some people cause drama for little to no reason. It's sad really. Other then the select few making claimes on the subject, 90% of the time I just find players who A. Are not involved or B. don't even know that the "problem" existed in the first place. I played C for a long time, I played p for a long time, and I played S for a while. Do I think any one group is better then another? No. I for one prefer to see it as the nerd.nu community, not the p/s/c community. Although I'm sure some of the people who disagree with any of this will reply.

Difficult1 that was one of the best posts I have ever seen from you. Big +1.

I also always prefer to think of the nerd.nu as one community. Everyone who has been here long enough to recognize their name, I consider family and it does pain me some to see people arguing. We, as head admins try our best to help and improve the community in growth and integrity. I receive criticism and take it to heart.

I hope always that everyone can work their differences out and stick around to watch this community become something even greater than it already is.

  9. I'm referring to servers who have VERY similar rules to ours. We have no lenience on this server in regards to rules, you can let something slip for a minute and your instantly warned, threatened to be banned and there goes your opportunity of ever wanting to work your way up here.

Define working your way up? Are you talking about being staff? There are several staff members that have been banned in the past and even a few that have been banned more than once. Hell, I was even banned once a long time ago.

That being said, if you were banned in the past, that doesn't mean you will never be staff.
