  1. My question was more aimed at revealing how it doesn't particularly matter which servers each of the head admins have come from given their involvement in all.

The last time I saw a head admin on S was when Lude was running the arena nights. That was actually one of the only times I've seen a head admin on S this whole revision. I know that their time on S doesn't accurately represent their involvement in it, but it can give you somewhat of an idea.

I said earlier that S needs a head admin to represent it's best interests. In my opinion, a head admin from S would feel empathy to S and it's problems. I think it would motivate them to clarify rules & do more work for the server that they came from. I'm not saying the heads don't work hard for S, because we know they do(and really appreciate it), I just think a head from S would have more of a drive to improve S, as opposed to one that wasn't from S.

  2. With the survival server not being obviously represented in the sense that a former survival admin is within the head admin team. How are the interests of survival conveyed within the head admin team?

The former survival admin within the head admin team that you're referring to has stepped down as announced in the staff meeting. Also I don't think that particular admin was so much focused on survival, than the servers as a whole.

  3. Since the Head Admins of nerd, JA(Creative), thrawn21(pve), wickedcoolsteve(pve), shouldn't the head admin team draw from all the servers? That way each head knows how a server and its playerbase works accordingly.

I second this. S needs a head admin to represent it's best interests.

  4. Secondary bases and placing a few chests outside your primary base make this not an issue. If a player is inside your base, go grab gear from your secondary base and kill them. If you lack the resources to do so, now is the perfect time to gather them.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

  5. I never, in ~20 revisions of playing S, had to put more than ten minutes of effort into leaving spawn. Even on the worst occasions when I was fully under attack and had to figure out alternate routes besides the roads, I never had to spend more than 10 minutes getting away from foes. The map is huge and the game has no radar, if you can't escape spawn you are not playing the game very well. If you can't access the exact road you want in exactly the way you want then you are being unrealistic and are not recognizing that you're playing on a server called "survival." No one, in many revisions that I've seen, has actually stood at the spawn point with a sword swinging at newly spawned players for longer than a minute or two.

If what you want to discuss is "unimpeded ability to return to base," then let's talk about beds. Because that's what this topic is really about: beds

Okay, I understood everything up until the last part about beds. I agree with you luke, spawn camping is often exaggerated to the extreme. I too, have never had an issue leaving spawn. It has only happened once and good came out of it because I built this little summer home and it was really nice but I digress,

To me it's only camping if they are killing you repeatedly on all four roads. The term is used to loosely. Today I was accused of spawn camping by someone. The player attacked me several times after we had a Zerg fight. He kept coming back and punching me to break my chain armor. Then, the first time he ran past me, I killed him. After that he went on a huge tirade about me spawn camping. This is ridiculous, and I agree with draykhar this rule needs to be more clearly defined.

I also think players use this For malicious intent. They will do the aforementioned, and then /modreq you anyway because it looks like you're spawn camping in the logs, as there is no way to verify wether they got to a chest, punched you, etc.

The real camping issue is base camping.

  6. I am banned for mumble because I said a player's full name in a channel. I know that doxing is rude and should be taken seriously, but I do not feel that I should be punished in this instance. My reasoning for this being that the player and I were the only ones in the channel at the time, therefore no private information was disclosed to anyone else.

    Here's a definition of doxing:

Disclosing personal information( i. e.Address, Full name, Phone number) on the internet.

Since there are no recordings in mumble, and no other users were in the channel at that time, I do not feel that this would fall under doxing.

Still though, It was a dick move from the start and I understand that there is a fine line between joking, and being a dick.

    Thanks,

    Geta
