  1. Hello Rubix_cube100.

Yes, that is correct. You were banned yesterday for multiple cases of grief.

Today you failed to replace saplings in a tree farm which you used, as seen here:

Please take time making a replying explaining which rule(s) you have broken, and how you intend to avoid breaking them in the future.

After you've read over the rules here: http://www.redditpublic.com/wiki/Rules

Please post your reply and I will get back to you within the next 24 hours discussing an unban time.

  2. I went ahead and moved this here so we may gather some more suggestions around this.

We've made tree repositories as well as tree building competitions in the past, but we've never really gathered any opinions on how it should be set up from the players, I'm making this post for suggestions. I'm posting this here to help build a more standardized format for a tree repository in the future for players to access.

Here are some things i'd like to get some input on, but any suggestions are very welcome.

    • What kind of trees would players like to see available? (Made just by nerd players, or gathered from online?)
    • How big do you think would be necessary for something like this? A whole world or only a 100x100 area?
    • Would anyone be interested in other types of builds for reference? (Such as cars, planes, ect )
    • Should there be a limit on player submissions to a repository world or area? (to keep the quality of submissions high)
  3. Your usage of double negatives in that last reply is too ambiguous in this context. Since it doesn't seem that i'm getting through to you anyways, and it appears you have no intention on doing anything except blaming others. We're currently compiling some evidence of your harassment on other players, and Torteela or myself will be presenting it here to you, so we can see if that will help us discuss this further.

In the meantime, if you decide to make a legitimate reply addressing your behavior instead of other's then i'd be glad to read it.

  4. Hello Aeternalis,

    Welcome to the community.

I find it very fascinating that you're multilingual, and I admire that. That has to be a lot of dedication for someone at your age. I want to learn French by the time i'm 30 as well.

I'll add you on steam the next time I boot it up!

If you're aiming to meet everyone, a good time to get on might be during speedbuild. Speedbuild is every Saturday at 9pm ET, and we usually all chat on our mumble server and have a few good laughs.

  5. These people who start arguments, they might be doing it for the reasons I said above, you know? Sometimes people get defensive, and maybe for good reason. If you come off with such a strong and harsh tone towards things, it seems alarming, and that's exactly what's in question right now.

I believe you would find it easier, and more fair if you learned to turn away from arguments or conflicts that arise, instead of fueling the fire, do you agree?

  6. This is an accumulation ban ; By Bardidley's request to ban on next offense.
You had a ban on next offense note from me 6 months ago, so Bard chose to give you another chance.

You have received a ban from me today because of your aggressive and disruptive chat, in combination with player harassment yesterday.

Since this is a reoccurring problem, rather than a single case, i'd like to take this appeal in a little bit of a different direction than normal. I know you do not believe that you have been rightfully reported, but we can work through this, and make sure it won't happen in the future. You are a regular and long-time user, and my intention is to see that your, and everyone else's experience on this server is the best it can be.

Minecraft can be a good escape. A virtual world where you are free to express yourself in any way that you want, even the negative feelings. Life can be very hard, and stressful, and lots of people turn to the server for recreation and fun. Though our reasons for playing may be different, we are all part of a community. I know you're a great builder, who has fun on the server. Sometimes things happen that can really be irritating, or frustrating when it feels like people are ganging up on you, or being argumentative, or straight up disrespectful. Although it becomes interesting when you consider the opposite points of view, the people you believe you may be defending yourself from may be feeling pain as well, and the same frustration. Nobody likes to be put down, and nobody likes to lose arguments or feel harassed.

Before you start thinking to yourself that you don't have time for this jibber jabber, I want to say that i'm speaking from experience. I used to have problems controlling my anger, and controlling the things I said to others. I used to hurt people, people that cared about me, like people from this community. It hurts to look back on the times I did that, because at the time, I didn't even know it, it didn't seem like what I was doing was wrong. It wasn't until people spoke up, and I got in trouble, and lost friends for me to realize that I wasn't acting kindly, and that something needed to change. I don't want you to have to deal with that on nerd, or anywhere really.

You just got back after being gone for a long time and already have given us some wonderful builds. I don't want you to have to deal with any more bans, or a ban longer than it has to be. I know that you can play without hurting others, so do it, and have fun.

Consider this my appeal to you.

I only ask that you read this, and make a thoughtful reply, and then we can go ahead and discuss an unban time.

  7. Hello Promaxxe.

Thank you for appealing, i'll try to explain why I made this ban the best I can.

So let's lay out the events.

At approx 2/13 - 6:30 server time , LogBlock shows you making destructive edits to the treehouse, starting from the bottom up. Then shortly after a border built up in the sky with a modreq. The modreq way delayed from being taken because of the size, so it needed Cadmin approval, and that's where I come in.

Right away I noticed things were wrong.

I started by initially declining the request because of minimum distance protection rules, and then used WE to just help move over the borders when I saw you login, I figured it would save you the trouble, and I went ahead and protected the region. Since it was a large region, my LogBlock request was a taking a while to check for edits, and that's when it dawned on me there was a treehouse before, and it was suddenly gone. After making smaller LB queues and rolling back your edits, Surprise, there was a whole treehouse sitting there smack in the middle of the region.

After confronting you, you claimed you had no idea anything was there, and perhaps your brother had removed something while you stepped away. Here's all the things that discredit this claim:

    • You state in your appeal that you knew of a treehouse, yet requested protection anyways.
    • You showed no concern for said treehouse magically disappearing without your knowledge.
    • Evidence shows your story is not linear about seeing the treehouse after building up borders. Borders were created after the treehouse's removal.
    • LogBlock shows that it was extremely unlikely that your brother had destroyed the treehouse in the time frame before you started building your borders (they were started almost instantly after edits to the treehouse).
    • The coincidence of your brother deciding to grief something that would benefit your ability to claim a large area.

Here are some screenshots that show your edits:

In the end, this is your account, and making sure that others do not have access to your personal computers is not our responsibility, it is yours. I advise that you start password protecting your computer or logging out of minecraft when you are not active.

I'd like to see a reply from you, addressing the inconsistencies that I mentioned above, then we will discuss an unban date.

Perhaps these links will also be of use to you: http://www.redditpublic.com/wiki/Rules

  8. Cosmocrat, thank you for taking the time to appeal, I hoped you would -- Sorry it took me so long to reply.

We have been having a very hard time with hacked items on C with the potential to crash/annoy/lag other players, and with a little bit of discussion we deemed the firework hazardous if used in excess. After some investigation I came across your tree-house where I found chests with extra NBT data on them, this to me, is a huge red flag, and where your ban comes in.

Normally when hacked items are obtained, there tends to only be only one in question, this makes it easier to find and remove, as well warn and inform the player. Since we discovered multiple items in your case (3), I decided to take a little bit more action than usual while we cleared things up. The decision to give you a ban was to ensure that these items could not be distributed any further, or that you would not (potentially) bring more hacked items onto our server.

All of this falls under - No xraying/hacking/cheating .

I hope this clarifies why this ban was made, and will be lifted as soon as you reply back acknowledging that you took a look at it. Your inventories and chests have been wiped, if you have any remaining copies of the items I described above that we did not find I ask that you remove them. Thank you for reading over the rules, and I apologize for the lack of clarification for hacked items.

PS: I love your skin, seriously it's really cool. I was perplexed by it for a solid 5 minutes.

  9.

Maybe it's worth just trying to keep the discussion on-topic. If we perceive another post as passive aggressive, rise above it and be the better person, lead by example.

From what I can see, there are a few points worth discussing in more detail to find out what both the creative admins as a collective and the community would like.

    • Spawn city plots allowing for more than 2 per person?
      • Which criteria would people need to get additional plots?
        • Nerdplot lets people get a region without moderator intervention which is great. Should moderators be involved to determine increases beyond the nerdplot capacity by assessing whether the existing plots are developed / used?
      • Is the current limit of two per person enough?
        • Making sure that there are plots available for anyone who wants them is important but it's also good to see empty plots being used.
    • Ensuring there are enough spawn city plots.
      • Bardidley has mentioned that the creative admins are looking into adding more plots. Maybe this could be something prepared for during the construction of a new revision?
        • This way the city plots can start at their maximum intended size, if we're reaching close to capacity at the (approximate) halfway point of a revision.
      • How many plots are there in total per district, how many are claimed and how many are built upon? I'm merely curious as to how popular the plots are, even if they are only estimates to save time.
        • Bluntly, I am wondering how big an issue plot usage is at spawn city from both the perspective of making sure there are adequate plots available and for people who want to help spawn be a showcase of great builds.
    • Sharing spawn city plots.
      • This point is a little more geared towards the creative admins. In my opinion, people should not be restricted from building together, it is multiplayer after all. ;-) Though I do see some concerns about plot collaborations and the consequences of having plots taken away, would someone from the creative admin team be able to share some reassurances, please?
        • Assuming one collaborator has reached their plot limit already and this will mean they are sharing an additional plot.
    • Plots taken away.
      • Again this point is probably best answered only by creative admins. When the above points, particularly addressing the plot limit have been addressed, would this change anything in regards to the currently contested plots at spawn city which have culminated in this discussion?

Allowing more than two per person:

    •  Those who have filled up their auto-claimed plots already. would be able to modreq for additional plots.
    • Yes, moderators can list the plots owned, and teleport to said plots manually if they suspect someone has not used their current plots.
    • The current limit of 2 plots per person is not enough, and i'd like to see it raised to 5 for both downtown and suburbs + allowing plots on modreq once you've reached the limit.
    • It's not very difficult to add more plots, and in the case that we do run out of room -- The map is never full, and the possibility for community builds are endless. (spawn city 2? )

    Ensuring enough plots:

    • If people would like, we would always be open to making spawn city larger at the revision start.
    • I actually don't know the # of plots, that's a great question for Bard
    • As far as i'm aware of: We have enough space to expand a bit right now, Bard is working on it, and there are still plots that need to be filled. (downtown may be getting a little bit low, but that's where expanding can come in,

    Sharing spawn city plots:

    • I feel that so long as a plot is being filled, and both players agree, it's perfectly fine.
    • If we take the route of changing the claiming policy to allow players to claim more plots with modreqs, this will be irrelevant.

    Plots that were taken away:

    • I believe the best solution here would be to allow these plots to be returned/claimed freely to their owners.
