This looks pretty good to me, however having a meeting planned at 3am seems pretty ridiculous. Which time zone is that aiming to include? It'd seem more logical to have a evening meeting on the friday and then a midday one on the saturday since generally that's when Americans aren't working/at school.

But what does the 3rd option add, how does it impact the final result? Will it be counted against the player, or is it just a throwaway vote?
I'm sure you can imagine a nastier version of this conversation happening, and I wanted to protect mods from that. However, I know this doesn't work when the mod and Player A do in fact know each other well.
I think having "Neutral" would both serve the purpose that the current 3rd option does as it would cover that reason, but also solves the issue that you brought up. If you don't have an opinion on a player getting staff but have heard good things, you can vote neutrally on the player which neither harms or supports their chances.

Change "Don't know well enough" to "Neutral". To me, don't know well enough just sounds like a reason to not support someone, whereas neutral would be a middle ground.

Hello zilm82o0. Please wait for redwall_hp to handle your appeal. If no one has responded within 48 hours, feel free to bump your appeal.
Ban Information:
Ban for zilm82o0 on c.nerd.nu for x-ray on Survival nerd.nu/appeal by redwall_hp on 2014-05-04 23:42:32 (3 more bans, 9 notes)

You already have another appeal open here so I'll close this one. Please don't make more than 1 appeal. Thanks :)

Most deathban plugins just listen for players logging in, and kick them with a message telling them how long it'll be until they're unbanned. It doesn't literally "ban" them, and they certainly wouldn't integrate themselves with mcbouncer.

I can't recall the CTFs exactly, but I remember the first one had 4 teams. It ended up being 3 since the selection method was poor and one of the teams had very few people on it, but I much preferred the 3-4 teams. It gave you an option of what to do, who to target. When there were only 2 teams it felt a bit boring to me. There weren't many tactics, you just had to attack the other team. With more than 2 teams, you have to consider where to go next, who's weakest, who you should look out for etc.

In Toy Story, there was a character called Mr ______ Head. What is the missing word?

I think these meetings would be a lot more productive if it wasn't staff only, just whole Survival community meetings, then maybe followed up by a staff meeting to gather the thoughts and see what we can do about it.

You just shoot down the idea without having anyone expand on how it could be implemented and tested. "We've always had lwc and everyone is used to it", just because we have always had it doesn't mean we can't change.
I've not shot any idea down, we can't just add it straight away as you suggested earlier. Both pros and cons need to be presented to the players before we can make a decision like this. This isn't the sort of thing you can change just because you think it'll work.
Change is good, it keeps the server moving forward. It is hard to take a step backwards right now. Like you said even small changes are good, I really think we should try and put in a 20-60 minute PvP protection for new players, just to see if it keep more players playing and not leaving after they get killed.
In your absence this was tried, however it would need to be re-evaluated before being re-implemented. New players were running around in armour whilst still in the protection which lead to swarms of players following them until the protection was up and they could be killed. There were others problems that I can't remember of off the top of my head right now that lead to it only being used for 1 revision.

Why would it be easy to pick a chest? Details would have to thought out about it. It would not make people not want to play. Why not attempt to try something instead of just talking about it. It is all talk, nothing gets done.
Because something like basically unlocking chests is a big decision. We've always had lwc and everyone is used to it. It would change the way that Survival is played. Bases, or at least chest rooms, would have to be built for protection and functionality rather than aesthetics. This isn't something that you can implement without thinking about the consequences.

I can't speak for other servers, but I wouldn't want this on S. Grief isn't generally a high priority as it's usually minor and if there's anyone about actively griefing at the time it's usually spotted and brought to a staff member's attention so that it can get cleared up quickly. I don't think this change would be necessary.

There's been a huge list of places that would serve as good renders for Survival in the original thread.

It hasn't been moved, because discussion is still open on it. Once things go to the archives, they are locked down, and a new thread would have to be opened on the topic, which is a bit silly.
Why not move it to modchat public at least, then?

The trial for this wasn't really conducted at a time where we were able to get a good idea of what all of the players thought. It was trailed at the end of the revision where there were few players and very little PvP. Since the results were mixed, but slightly in favour of keeping an enderpearl cooldown, why not try it for a week whilst everyone is playing and then make the decision based off those results.

The delayed start is entirely our fault and I'm really sorry for this. When the announcement was made we were totally unprepared and this was wrong.
"Hey, we got everything done, so we are going to make you wait a week knowing it is fully ready to go now"?
There is absolutely no need for this, it's just down to us to be prepared and actually get most of the work done before the announcement is made to restart. We had plenty of time to build the map but we did very little. RL problems are an issue but we had numerous staff members that could have been working on the build so really that was no reason to delay us, in my opinion.

This is now fixed, locking thread :)
EDIT: I don't have perms :((( lol

So far my understanding of the plans that still need to be completed are:
Roads
- To 1000 blocks in each direction.
- Portals at 300 and 800 on each road.
- A square ring road at 800.
- I'm assuming we're having portals along the ring road at 300-400 and 800 blocks also, confirmation on this please?
Hidden Portals
- 4 in each quadrant between around 1500-1900 both x and z coords (if that makes sense)
Signs at spawn
- Self explanatory - These include rules, announcements, SAL Leaderboard etc.
Arena (I may have missed stuff here, noob when it comes to this)
- Decide what arena we are using and paste into map
- Create various protections - PvP on arena floor, No-PVP in stands
Protections
- Roads, Spawn, Arena, End Portal(s), Nether Portals
Spawn
- I did not build any mod cave/secret features into my spawn, so these need to be made but at a low priority.
- A few things need neatening up - Trees around the edges, water in the punt arena
I will almost definitely have missed some things from this list, but these are the things that come to mind. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of these points also, but we didn't have a checklist anywhere so I thought this might help :)

Ah, I see. Well its not a major issue anyway.
At 3 seconds, the cooldown was not even noticable to me. By the time the pearl has landed, 3 seconds has already elapsed. If we are really considering a cooldown, the time length should be increased.
In my opinion the time limit is perfect. The idea for this plugin, at least from when I was presenting it, was to stop spamming of pearls. Not using pearls to escape PvP, just to give the attacker a more even chance. I think it's done that pretty well, the only downside is not being able to pearl spam out of traps, but since you're essentially glitching your way up the wall I'm personally not too bothered about that.

I've had this before. I dunno why it happens but it usually works again after the next restart.
EDIT: Actually, this is different from what has happened before.

This thread has been up a while and since I last commented I've changed stance and would support having sub-divisions in the Server Discussion section for each of the 3 servers. I've been posting quite a few polls and discussion threads recently for Survival, and I think they hide the other server's content as well as themselves really. Magnyus' suggestion seems quite a good compromise if that's what people would prefer.
Could we come to a conclusion on what's going to happen with this?
