  1. It's actually not silly at all, it's a tactic that is used in lots of occasions, if someone is abusing something, like this to get personal information about others, the feature is temporarily disabled until better control over that information is added

    What are you talking about?

That isn't even close to why it was removed, don't talk about things you don't have any idea about.

  2. The main issues related to being unable to interact with tile entities while the cooldown was in effect, no chests, doors, levers, etc. I can scour through logs to find all the PMs I got, if they still exist, and give you details if you like.

We were using this plugin: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/enderpearl-cooldown/

    Sorry for the late reply.

Hm, that's quite weird, we use that plugin and have never had a single bug report.

Have you guys reported the bugs to the plugin dev on the ticket page?

  3. This is true on P and C. The only extra limit on S is that you can't use an alt account for a PvP advantage. Anything that gives an advantage, including logging out on account 1 in a strategic location and playing on another account until you see someone log on can get both accounts banned.

    Hey, I got a question.

Let's say one account is being camped at spawn/bed/something, is it okay to log into a second account and just get on with whatever I was doing before, with no PVPing.

I would imagine it is, as it doesn't give a PVP advantage, but I just want to make sure.

  4. I'll first express my bias: I am not particularly fond of the idea of implementing a cool-down plugin for enderpearl usage. It moves us farther away from vanilla minecraft and favors a *specific* strategy in survival and PvP.

That being said, response to the plugin usage in the polls was lukewarm. Only half of those who voted wanted it after the trial - a smaller percentage than those who thought it might be good in polls before the trial. Numerous people who did not vote also contacted me or made modreqs about the technical bugs the plugin we were using had. I would not be in favor of another trial unless we used a different plugin or updated version which fixes the bugs this one had. If anyone has specific plugins to suggest which perform this kind of cooldown, please share them.

Could you give a list of the bugs that were reported?

Also, could you link me to the plugin you guys were using?

    Thanks.

  5. The trial for this wasn't really conducted at a time where we were able to get a good idea of what all of the players thought. It was trailed at the end of the revision where there were few players and very little PvP. Since the results were mixed, but slightly in favour of keeping an enderpearl cooldown, why not try it for a week whilst everyone is playing and then make the decision based off those results.

    I second this.

A re-trial when people are actually playing/pvping would be much better, even though the majority vote was to keep the enderpearl cooldown.

  6. Yep, I agree

The time isn't the problem, the thing that people have the problem with is that an announcement was made before the revision was anywhere near ready for launch, which lead to the map not being complete for the deadline.

What we are asking for is that in the future, the Admins wait until everything is finished, or at least very close to being finished before announcing it.

  7. They block stuff like /version and other things to prevent users from getting server info which could potentially be harmful. We had /plugins unblocked and now it alerts staff members whenever it is ran, but it would be hard to do similar to unblock other commands.

I understand that is their own reasoning behind it, but my point is we can't help if we don't have the commands we need to do so.

  8. I first noticed this problem when we originally updated to 1.7, however I have not been able to reproduce this on S or P or on my own server. I haven't looked into it in a while, but I was at a loss before to it's cause. Originally it affected almost all the new 1.7 blocks and it seemed to simply strip the color for them. Currently it seems to only be happening on the stained glass and kinda unfortunately means its low priority for me =\ If anyone happens to figure out any more info, please do let me know.

I'd love to try and help out, but unfortunately, 99.9% of the commands I'd need to use are blocked for whatever reason.

  9. As I said, it doesn't have to be complete. We are just allowing people to move their current progress in. At no point have we said its only completed builds that can't be edited ever again.

    Okay, that makes sense.

Just to double confirm, this means that anyone who has not submitted their "off nerd" build whether complete or not by Wednesday will have to wait until the next contest?

  10. It allows all players the chance to see the competition. It would be unfair for those who don't have access to World Edit outside of Event to have to build it in game for everyone to see, but not get to see what they're up against.

I see your reasoning here, with people not being able to see what they're up against, but I still don't think that it's fair that people who built them off the server are only given 4 days VS just short of a month. That's a massive difference in time.

  11. The reason is I want all designs/work in one place, for the designs to be done inside the community, rather than alone in secret. I've tried to enable as many features as possible so it shouldn't be a question about tools.

So, builds that are not on Nerd have to be submitted within 4 days purely because that's how you want it? I think that's ridiculous.

If you're so set on having them in one place, why not allow them to submit one week before the deadline, that gives plenty of time for people to finish their builds, as well as people to view the builds.

  12. Being a contest like this, it is only fair if all people participating can see other entries. We're trying to keep a level playing field, but allow those who already started to not have to start over.

I don't understand. If you're trying to keep it level, why give people such different times?

Even so, this is still really early, I know a few people that are building their hubs locally due to the WorldEdit restrictions on the Event server, I feel it's unfair to force those people to rush their build.
