  1. I can understand the confusion. Currently the wiki says:

    • Any client mod on the NOT APPROVED list may NOT be used on the server, period.

Which in my opinion is incredibly vague and open to interpretation.

To be fair, Loud recently told me that updating that list has been on his list of things to do for a while. The Sadmins do know that it needs updating, but perhaps it needs to be a higher priority.

  2. This issue is already being addressed and will show results in a short time.

    Any news?

Not sure yet. I have been busy with the new rev and have only gotten a rough agenda together. Once I get that done I will work on setting a time.

I would like to take this chance to ask everyone if there are any new topics that you would like to see discussed in a general meeting?

    Any news on this either?

  3. No no no, what I'm saying is, AFTER the bounty is collected by the killer, but BEFORE the pearl is redeemed by the bounty issuer, the pearl is in "limbo."  It does not exist anywhere on the map.  At the moment, prison pearls are always somewhere on the map, so if you are imprisoned, your friends can go rescue you.  If a pearl is in "limbo," then there's nothing you can do to free yourself.

To combat that then the player that makes the bounty has to make a "pearl chest" via a command /bounty chest and if the player is not online when the bounty is claimed then it would go into that chest.  They could put the 12 diamonds in the chest instead of having to pay 12 diamonds to make the bounty that way the person who claims the bounty can decide how long they want to put the player in prison for.

Roast: you make a good point.

Malvagio: I'm not sure I love the idea. What if the chest was broken before the bounty was cached in? Would that disable the bounty? This seems like it's getting a bit too messy from a technical perspective.

  4. I like the concept behind the prison pearl system, as that would also force a likely loss of at least one diamond to the one who makes the bounty, and I believe the current system allows bounties that are too cheap.

The issue I see with the prison pearl idea is this:  If you claim a bounty, the pearl goes into "limbo" until the issuer comes online / accepts the pearl, during which time the prisoned player is unable to be rescued.

I think that's kind of the whole point of this new system. If the one who made the bounty is online, he or she would have the choice whether or not to release the person they put a bounty on. Otherwise, that person would stay pearled until the diamondss are gone. I believe malvagio is saying that if you actually want to put a bounty on a person, don't do it frivolously; do it because you want to trap them for at least a little while. If that's not the concept behind the bounty system, then maybe this is the wrong way of going about it.

Without the ability to sort by things other than most recent, this is pretty much useless at the moment, as there are just way too many bounties.

  5. "/afk PlayerName" - This would return one of two options: "Player is currently listed as AFK" and "Player is currently listed as not AFK".

A few thoughts. The first, purely because I think it sounds better: /afk Playername should do "Player is not currently listed as AFK" rather than "Player is currently listed as AFK." But Maybe I'm over thinking that. The other part is more of an agreement with Wayne's inital idea. I think that having a message sent to those people who mention name or msgs saying something along the line of "Playername is AFK" would be a helpful addition.

  6. Lastly, if it's so important polls are much more adequate for discerning popular opinion on one idea vs another, where personal matters are less of an issue, though I recognize we can't put polls on everything. Which is why I agree we should make another forum poll, since the last one is a bit dated, to decide what the voting should be.

I couldn't agree more. Can someone please set up a poll for this?

  7. :/ guys, not sure why the creeper eggs discussion is happening now? Another thread is easy to make if someone wants, I am just looking for PAdmin feedback here please.

Edit: again apologies for the harshness but I put some time into this thread and hope to not drag it off track.

    the TL/DR was allow TNT.

  8. Creeper eggs have never been given out during non-chaos events on P. The only time a player got a hold of creeper eggs was by stealing them from a dispenser someone forgot to lock in a PvE arena a year or two ago. The player was later banned for killing players with the eggs, like you mentioned. They weren't willingly given out.

Right, but I think the point that he's making is that I could very easily just lead creepers to AFK people. This is a case of possibly allowing a block that could be used improperly (and the player banned for it), but also has many proper uses. I'd advocate for trusting your users. If someone uses this improperly, then that person would probably get banned for doing something else anyway.

  9. Out of curiosity, did you check last time in-game for those who were not greater than a month? I would contend that as a primarily minecraft-server based service, those who are not active in-game and do not know the current user-base should not have the right nor the power to take part in decisions made about said user-base.

  10. So Here's the problem in picture form: Aq3AJui.jpg

As you can see, when scrolling over a user, this happens. What normally happens, for those of you who don't know or have never tried, is that it is supposed to display a small amount of information about the user. Don't know if this is just for me, for everyone, etc. For info, I'm using firefox. Thanks!
