SkrapssparkS
Right this could just be my timezone however, the last few times I've gone onto minecraft and looked at the number of players on creative and survival it's been at 0, even pve's numbers seem to be going. This shouldn't be happening at the very beginning of the creative revision. This could just be my timezone however I feel something really should be done about this and I don't mean just unbanning a block or having a speed build contest, as fun as they are they just bring in players for a very short period of time. I think we really should go ahead with the idea of opening up another server soon, we could lower the number of players allowed to join each server because when are we ever going to have 150 people on creative? I'd really like to see a mini games server. Minecraft has changed it's no longer that fun to do things the vanilla way, mini games are very useful as they often use a small space so players could build arenas for them on creative and if they are good enough we could put them in. There is also a lot more opportunities to reach out to different people with mini games as you can please a far bigger crowd due to the vast number of mini games out there. As I type this up the player count just now is Creative 0, Survival 0, Pve 14. These numbers are so low that there really isn't much harm we could do to them by trying something drastically new out. I also don't think it's useful to say something along the lines of oh that's a good idea we will get back to you on that and then change something weeks down the line, the player count isn't going up and who knows how many players we will actually have in the future. Why not give it a go and put up a new server as soon as possible. I am sorry for this post as I have probably repeated myself many times but I like this community and I don't want to see it dwindle into nothing.
roastnewt
Hey SkrapssparkS! We missed you at the general mumble meeting, we talked a bit about this. A couple points that were brought up in the meeting: 1. Most of the community seemed in favor of opening a minigames server. 2. A Minigames server would probably be beneficial for both C and S, for building maps and getting familiar with pvp. 3. The creative gametype is wildly popular on other servers, so I don't think it's a matter of people not liking creative mode. Also, to be fair, this is a bad time for player counts. It's Monday/Tuesday, it's 5-8am in America and it's noon in the UK, so no one's started playing. And it's getting late in Australia on a weeknight. No matter how good our player count gets, this is going to be the lowest point. But our Australian player count does seem to have gone down.

Fair point, I apologize for not making the meeting, It's been quite busy here aswell. But even late at night when the player count usually is high there still isn't very many players on. I hope we do go through with having a mini-games server, it should really bring in more people.
tobylane
I don't think it's related to anything we offer, or don't offer. This is the start of the further education term - UK university/college, US college. We have a fairly mature player base that has a lot at university age. We didn't have 0 players on at a time as often as this last time students came back from a holiday. Also it's more the point that if we offer more, more will come so if we can do it, why not? Difficult1
Well, one of the reasons could possibly be minecraft mods. They have always been popular but they seem to be booming right now. Also, many of our "regulars" have been playing loads of different games other then minecraft, so that draws a few away. Those seem to be the two main reasons in my mind.
