Whatever we decide to do, I think we need to get some plans going soon. There has not been much discussion about it here, so perhaps we should move this thread to PMC or create a similar one there. Personally, I think having a the space event and a CTF event in the same year/summer would not a bad idea even if we only use one as a donation drive. I think a CTF event could be a safer option since we have done a few in the past, but I'm not sure if should go with the safer option for a donation drive.

Hello everyone, I would like to know what you guys feel like you could use some more training in. This can be anything from the protecting beacons to moderating chat. I plan to use this information in two ways. First, it will be used to help train new mods. If there is something some of you don’t know, odds are we need to cover it better in mod training. Second, it will be used to help create a refresher course for everyone. I’m not sure when the refresher course will be, but this is the first step in making it happen. This refresher course will be designed around survival. However, anyone will be welcome to attend, so even if you don’t moderate on S feel free to comment below. One last thing, you are more than welcome to pm if you don’t want to post below.

I have put together a description for the servers (a bit of it was copied from the wiki because I could :P). So, please read through the descriptions, edit anyway you see fit, and then reply here so I can update it. Once everyone is satisfied with descriptions, I will make a post to /r/mcservers. Here is what it should look like on reddit. They are all free-to-use public servers with no white-lists, no ranks, no pay-to-win, or no pay-for-perks. Players often use Mumble to coordinate building and events, such as spleef matches and PvP arenas. The Creative (c.nerd.nu) server is where users are able to express their creativity within the form of blocks. Some play Creative for the blocks, others play for role-play, others play for the people, and others play for the server. The map, currently 3900x3900 blocks, will expand over time and features a predominantly vanilla terrain with a touch of amplified and WorldPainted terrain mixed in. The PvE (p.nerd.nu) (Player versus Environment) server allows players to battle the environment and mobs while working with, instead of against, other players. The emphasis is usually on collaborative building and friendly competition. The entire map is PvE, without player-on-player damage, with limited exceptions for a few PvP-enabled arenas. PvE is known for its large, active, and friendly community. The map is currently 5000x5000. The Survival(PvP) (s.nerd.nu) server is set up as a nearly completely PvP-enabled map. The only areas that exist where PvP is disabled are the starting spawn area, and particular sections of the server's official arena. Everywhere else, players may freely kill one another. Some play for the PvP, well others just enjoy the potential danger brought on by building in such a hostile environment without ever actually starting a fight, and we welcome anyone who chooses to play either way. When: Saturday at 7:30 EDT Where: Survival (s.nerd.nu) What kind of fights: Players vs Mobs! 1 vs 1 - All types of armor! FFA! (Free For All) 1 vs 1 - On horses! (You must provide your own horse) [insert your idea here!] I will be trying something a little different with this arena by holding two lotteries during the arena. All you need to enter the first one is be around in the arena when I decide to draw for it. I will not be releasing the time for the drawing to help avoid people only logging in for the drawing. The second one will take a little more work, but it should be more fun. To be entered into the second lottery, all you need to do is participate in an armored fight, it does not matter if you win or lose. The process for drawing the winner will be the same for each lottery. I will assign each eligible players a number and then pick a winner using a random number generator. The prizes will different for each lottery, and the prize for the second lottery will be better. So even if you don't feel like fighting, come to watch some exciting pvp and have the chance to win some free items!

Hello Four_Down, great question. I have noticed with past discussion threads that the community will typically only focus in on only a few ideas, and the other ideas will be pushed to the side. I would like to avoid this. Having it setup this way should allow for people to make suggestions without being influenced by the few ideas that the community decided to focus on, and it should allow for a lot more unique ideas, which is something S could use right now. Going by the responses we have already received, this has has been working. Also, it allows the meetings to take place. If players just posted their suggestions here, like what has been done in the past, everything would be discussed long before the actual meetings.
