  3. I have ONE pet. he is a cat. his name is link.Highway interchanges when designed correctly can make or break your drive to and from your destination. plus, they look cool on google maps.
  4. Yes. i do indeed like me some hockey. And Walmart pays my bills, so theres that. Hats do a fantastic job keeping my otherwise out of control hair in check.
  5. Hi. nevastop here, that one mod from C, that no one who never plays on C knows about. ask me (almost) anything.....
  6. I am on the fence about cardinal roads. i think they would be okay, dont make them all the way to the border. I have some food for thought as well: if we are going vanilla consider using large biomes. A large build such as Dome, spleef, ect can dominate a entire biome, making transitions between build awkward. also, in rev 23, which was the last Rev with a vanilla map, we had WAY to much water, and not enough consistent land. finally, once the map is made, BUILD UP THE HYPE. post a link to a cartograph on the subreddit, and the forums, so everyone can start planning out builds with there groups of friends, and everyone gets excited and we get a day 1 land rush.
  7. I think a lot of it is finding other members of our community who have similar gaming habits as yourself. thats what brought us all to nerd.nu in the first place. while Minecraft isn't going anywhere, many people are getting bored of it. we have built up a very nice community, and keeping the connections in house in other games would be fantastic. A gaming sub-forum with threads for different games would help draw people together. we could get the steam group a bit more organized, have set events and much more.
  8. Alright, with the info at hand, i declare this to be a 48 hour ban. Please go to nerd.nu/rules, and read over the rules. you will be unbanned around 10:00pm MST on 2/1.
  9. Hello, as this ban is relatively new, and involves more then one moderator, i would like to also ask Nickeox to post some of the related info, as some of the offenses took place before i logged onto C. the following imgur album as a overview that we took just before banning after doing a quick redo to try to get it all on one image. http://imgur.com/a/2gWQq this is a type A ban, and has a ban time of 1-day to 1-week. i will discuss with nickeox what he witnessed before i logged and get you the final unban date.
  10. this is my cat link. hes not much of a lap cat, so i took a photo of this rare event. http://i.imgur.com/asIwePx.jpg
  11. this is me, and that would be a rock i am sitting on.
  12. I suppose i can join the fun. Warning, huge.
  13. At the time when i Joined nerd.nu, it was just before a reset on P. i found the servers from a post in /r/minecraft. i wandered around, but i didn't want to commit to anything since the server was about to reset, so i found out there was a creative server and joined it. i found i could build very impressive builds, and stuck with the server since. from what i have seen, the populations have been on a decline ever since i joined (rev 19). upon further research, i found the decline started around the time that the vanilla creative mode was implemented into minecraft. by keeping our creative server as vanilla as possible, with the addition of some of our restrictions, our creative server offers NOTHING that players cant get out of other creative servers. we no longer have that "large" community feel that some people would come to the server to experience. alot of C dedicated would build on the server simply because there work would get to be viewed and enjoyed by a large user base. the flying aspect while being a fantastic building tool, allows players to spread out far to much. there is no governing force outside of the world borders that keeps players congregated together, encouraging one another to get to know there neighbor. I quit being as active as i have in the past due in large part to the lack of users online. I only started up again recently because the server i was playing on with some friends died down after we defeated the end dragon. I figured i should finish my spleef build. so in a large part, IMO, here is what C needs: 1. flying. keep it, but spawn players in survival. encourage as much as possible to be done in survival, but let players switch into flying mode for building uses. 2. lets get some moderates on C who know the server. as much as i appreciate mods form P and S coming around to help out, its still no substitute for a Mod who resides on the server, and moderates chat, and takes care of small issues on a personal level. 3. ADVERTISING! lets get some players in. this has been discussed above. what will be done about it remains yet to be seen. 4. EVENTS! the highest pops on C in recent history have been during in server events, such as the 10 minute build contest. 5. keeping up on the tech side of things. during rev 24, item durability was broken in /mode for nearly 4 months. yes, FOUR MONTHS. and to my knowledge, all it took was updating a single plug-in to fix it. also, at this time, on the modding side of things, we still don't have a 1.7 modjar. i have a hard enough time myself keeping up the latest and greatest way to get client side mods and install them, so i am still doing modreqs/protections without the CUI, optifine, and Watson. 6. while /randloc works, bring back /warp openspace. openspace brings new players together to a blank canvas, so they can work together or be neighbors. EDIT: also, lets branch out and use our subreddit more often. i often overlook ALOT of things, because i don't check the forums as frequent as reddit.
  14. I would like to see some improvements made to survival mode. right now, durability is STILL broken, as it has been for the majority of the current rev. so it takes STACKS, lots of STACKS, to get much out of it. you then end up with a bunch of ghost blocks because when the stack emptys out, the client registers broken blocks, the server does not. also, i think the possibility of have working health in survival mode would kinda useful in some situations.
  15. I for one am for jungle biomes if it is done right. back in REV 22 the jungles were laced with large caves on big hills with massive river valleys going through. some of the revs most impressive builds were in the jungle that rev. i would like to see less nether, mushroom, and end biome. i have yet to see anything good come from those biomes. plains are always good, just break them up a bit, but some interesting things in between. islands, rivers, lakes, ect are good.
