  1. This would became good question for Deaygo, he has root access to the box and can install murmur 1.2.4. I'm still glad we are using 1.2.3 because I have heard about some issues and annoying bugs with it, and overall think 1.2.3 is better

  2. I'm using optifine since the 1.6.2 switch, and I can't see through lava or water unless i'm in the water... and I don't make it a habit to swim in lava, so...

You could only see through lava when you were under it while swimming, I have to use fire pots but didn't mind it as long as I could see right through it legitly, and 3/4ths of the time I did indeed find diamonds, now I can't get it to enable or force enable it anymore since that OptiFine update back in 1.5.2

  3. OptiFine 1.5.2_HD_D5 (updated Fog:OFF not to affect lava, water and blindness fog, updated Clear Water to save block light values, compatible with Forge #738)

Tested this on creative seems to have solved this "Issue"

Sadly, This feature is no longer available in OptiFine, I tried everything in my power I can do to get it back into my client, but failed. This shouldn't be a problem anymore as that functionality has been removed from the mod

Just in case anyone is wondering why I am replying to such an old post, I saw it linked in the main bulletin post with all the survival related topics that Tharine just posted recently

  4. I'm not the best at giving advice, but the first thing I would do is start gathering materials, I usually have my house close to spawn but go very far away to gather materials on the first day. I would also claim your land, It's best to do that first, then gather materials. Once you have that all set and done, I would start building my house. I seem to have a hard time finding glowstone to use as a light source, so it probably would be best to try and get to the nether as soon as possible before all those resources are gone. Once your house is done and all good, I would get some good PvP gear and explore the map a little. I would set up an easy accessible mine from in the house, and maybe even a grinder too if your into that. As soon as I step outside my door there are always people waiting to fight me and hopefully succeed in doing so. When you head out on the roads I would be prepared for anything to happen.

  5. Moved to problems and issues. Before closing this topic, in case someone else encounters this issue. SergeantSpears, would you mind posting how you resolved this?

I have had the same issue, I resolved it by completely shutting down Minecraft [javaw.exe] and restarting it

It may be something to do with the server wrapper, how the server responds to the client, or something else

  6. Just checked the new carto, it seems to be updating, but it also seems to be using code from a slightly older version of MC; anything quartz is not showing up at all or rendering with the wrong texture (in cases of quartz slabs and stairs, which have a valid data value but an invalid damage value for pre-1.5).

I asked totemo if he was going to update Minecraft Overviewer on the Nerd.Nu box, and he said it was one of the things to get done

  7. Could you elaborate why?

Yes, people seem to be worried about downvotes and karma issues. The "Like" button would allow someone just to show whether they like it or not. The post can always be reported if there is a problem

He locked the thread when he posted, was the poll locked at the same time?

    Yes
