  1. Saw the topic title, figured this was a thread about me, so I figured I should post something in this thread... So, now it's posted.
  2. Which server do you think has a birthday on June 15th?
  3. Ban is ancient: Ban for itzliam3 on c.nerd.nu for glowstone swastika nerd.nu/appeal by cyotie911 on 2011-12-04 22:59:21 (1 more bans, no notes) Please go reread the rules at http://nerd.nu/rules and reply back here stating that you understand and will abide by them from now on.
  4. Hello GetaFever, Just wanted to remind you to be patient. I appreciate your appeal being sincere and polite. We have all been busy lately but I will kindly remind someone to look into this when they have the time so this won't get passed over. Again thank you for your patience.
  5. As long as the change is made public and is perhaps made a revolving purple in-game server message that tell people that chests are now auto-locked I believe that this will be a positive change and will be welcomed by the community. You will probably get more questions about "How do you unlock/modify this chest" and a whole lot less "Someone stole all my shit out of my chest". The second one will probably cause a lot more rage quit by new players than the ones that will get upset about a locked chest.

  9. So I've recently had an issue with logging out (and server restarts) while in the end. The issue is that nothing but players in the vicinity render. Nothing else renders and I slowly start to fall out of the world. I'm always in modmode so it doesn't matter much, however, when doing /spawn and going to spawn, nothing still renders. The only way I can get things to render is to /spawn, logout, and relog into the server again. If I try to logout and log back in again before going to spawn, nothing will still render.
  10. I have a few situations that I'd like clarification on. Let's say that I'm in my base doing some mining or base expansion/building. Someone sneaks up behind me and attacks me. I don't log out and despite my efforts I was killed during combat. Now, lets say I have an alternate account in my base that was equipped with proper armor and weapons the last time I logged out. Is it going to be against the rules to log into that account to then attack the player who attacked killed? Also lets say that a player logs out while I was approaching them.. I know that this is considered combat logging, but because there are no logs in this instance and because I also know that even if I modreq them I know that I'll never get the items that they were carrying. So lets say that I logout of the account that I am looged into close to the spot that said player logged out at. I then log into an alternate account to continue playing while waiting for that player to login. Once I see that player login on my screen I relogin to the server using my other account to attack the player who I saw logout... Is this considered against the rules? Just some scenarios that ran through my mind.
  11. Enough time has passed since this ban has happened, I'm willing to give you a second chance. Please reread the rules at http://nerd.nu/rules and reply back here stating that you understand the rules and will abide by them from now on.
  12. Ban is super old: Ban for omahashanks on c.nerd.nu for huge avo wool sign nerd.nu/appeal by cyotie911 on 2011-11-28 08:14:26 (no more bans, no notes) I see you say that you have now read the rules. I'll hold you to following them from now on. Unbanned.
  13. 1. As far as the rules go, they are all okay to build. However, rail's that span across the map, that are merely a single wide block with a rail on top can be considered an eye sore, they tend to limit the ability to build in areas, and are rarely protected because of either the span of space they they interfere with or the effort they require due to hardly ever being built in a straight line. They become easily griefable due to the blocks being able to be broken from underneath then and the rail disappearing also, then when we roll back a griefer, the rails never reappear unless we redo the builders edits also. Rollercoasters are cool because they are normally built within an area just like any other build would be.. 2. We have had several Ideas that we have been throwing around that could help with bringing the player count up. I believe that we lost a few people with the last update that was put out by minecraft. This was probably due to the fact of our player base on Creative, seems to have shifted it's age group to a young crowd. I figure that most of the younger player base might not understand how to downgrade the update after updating their client and were now stuck not being able to join our servers until they were updated.. 2b. Video's, events, contests, and other things will probably be in the works for in the future. 3. The commands that have been put in place to help the users I believe allow the game to be vanilla enough but allow the players to us features that wouldn't be available otherwise due to the things we have to disable. For example, /nv is the same as using a night vision potion, but having this command allows for it's use without enabling all of the other potions. 4. Being a C admin is hard and also fun. It's a lot of work but it's rewarding to provide the help that people ask for. Unfortunately it cuts into your playing time. I can honestly say that I rarely really play minecraft anymore and most of my time on the servers is spent as staff and not as a player.
  14. Sorry for the delay in my reply. I'm going to go ahead and unban you but please don't do it again.
  15. So, Pepsi then? Since My. Dew is a Pepsi product.
  16. Hope that this isn't a permanent break and that you'll eventuality come back and play on a regular basis.
  17. 1. Why? Because 2. When? Sometime in the future 3. How? With as little effort as possible 4. Beer, but only when there is no liquor available, and only when it's Guinness. 5. Probably the worst thing I've had to do is ban friends because they broke the rules. 6. Because they are friends and It's not enjoyable but has to be done.
  18. Not sure. I haven't built anything in a really long time. Everytime I start a project, something comes up and I always run out of time.
  19. This is a super old ban: Ban for superjake819 on c.nerd.nu for griefing by draggin_low on 2011-04-09 16:15:28 (no more bans, no notes) I'm going to go ahead and unban you now. Just please read the rules at http://nerd.nu/rules before hoping on the servers again.
  20. 1. My hair get's so silky smooth because I actually wash it with bar soap. 2. See #1 3. No 1. I didn't really hear about minecraft from anyone. I happened to wander into a classroom, at a college where I work, and saw someone playing. 2. I, like a lot of people here, found this server from watching an avo video. This server was actually the first server I ever joined and I pretty much never left. I joined the server, I believe in March of 2011 and became a moderator in July of 2011. I became a server administrator for the creative server in March of 2012. 3. I can't remember how long it took me but I remember building a 200 x 300 x 300 atari 2600 complete with controllers and a TV with pacman on it. I'll have to see if I can find some pictures of it to post. The best way to handle this is to just answer their questions politely. A lot of people fly away from spawn without ever looking at the rules so, if a player is at least taking the time to ask about it, I'll be more than happy to answer it.
  21. Okay, I've decided that there should be a place to: #1. Share ideas about ways to improve the creative server. #2. Voice any issues/bugs that anyone has found in the creative server. #3. Any general question that you would like to ask a Creative Admin. Any and all questions will be answered sincerely. No question is invalid and everyone should be encouraged to post here. So, ask away.
  22. I'll look into this as soon as I get a chance.
  23. current way to deal with griefers... Step one. Lock griefer in survival mode. Step two. Mute griefer. Step three. Light griefer on fire. Step four. /thor griefer. Step five. Take away griefers ability to run commands. Step six. Teleport griefer to Cyotie911's box of shame. Step seven. Ban griefer. Step eight. Griefer appeals and ban length set. My method leaves several minutes for a griefer to be honest and apologize for breaking the rules before step eight. Thing is, most act angry they were caught and aren't sorry. If they don't want to be here and don't want to play by the rules then I would rather they weren't here. systems not broke. let's not try to fix it.
  24. Come here, I'll hold you... :)
