  2. At this time I think I am not quite comfortable yet removing my note; Rev 19 has just ended and as its less than a year old I want to give it a bit more time. I can however remove Zomise's note as she is currently inactive.

I will also ping the other staff listed to make sure they've seen your post.

  3. We are in need of some builders for the fundraiser. We've got a few non-staff helping so if you see any of them floating around its ok.

    WHAT WE NEED:

Carnival Builders - See SILVERSUNSET if you want to help with this!!
    - We need people to build some small carnival games designed to be used to award some prizes for the main event. Things like archery contests, dunk tanks, pac man, tic tac toe, small obstacle courses, etc
    - We will need some people who are good at decorating (because i sure am not) - the main spawn for the world is built but its sadly lacking in "pretty" - if you've got a flair for circus builds and want to help make the overall area look like a large outdoor carnival we need you!!

City Block Builders - See SIR_DIDYMUS if you want to help with this!!
    - We need people to build small city blocks for the world generation engine.
    - city blocks are fairly small, we are in need of three sizes: 16x16, 32x32, or 16x32; and up to 100 blocks high.
    - required themes: high rise, mid rise, low rise, industrial, municipal parks, suburban, and 'outskirts' (which are things like logging camps and quarries)

The fundraiser is still tentatively planned for the end of june, so these are things we'd need fairly soon. They are pretty small to put together, so if you've got some time to help out please contact us and let us know

  4. Hey UNP. I'm going to leave scherers and sapphrics notes to them to handle but felt I'd drop a note on the jchance/troop notes as they are no longer on staff. I'll remove those two later tonight when I'm home from work as they refer to specific cases from two years ago.

  8. Thanks to everyone who came to the initial testing for the fundraiser event!

For those who couldn't make it, we're looking at doing the following:

    • Carnival
      • running all weekend with small carnival type games
      • To be built by a "build team" selected by head admins consisting of both staff and non staff
    • Events
      • To be run periodically throughout the weekend at scheduled intervals
      • Potentially run by server admins (i.e. speedbuild on saturday) if they have the time
    • Zombie Apocalypse
      • [sekrit]

We are hoping to do some additional staff-testing events, so be on the lookout for announcements in PMC. Additionally please *do not share* information with the general public about this event, we would like for this to be as much of a surprise as possible.

For those who were able to come to the initial testing event - what were your impressions? Keeping in mind it was a first-pass with a default generation, what did you like or dislike?

One of the things we need to come up with are some "goals" for the weekend, reasons for people to keep logging in other than "to survive." Some things we've tossed around are rescuing villagers, surviving the longest, most mob kills. What sorts of things would keep you logging in for the entire weekend event?
