  1. Just need 3 more players!

I have never played but I would be down to try it out. If you wouldn't mind though can we postpone a week to avoid finals? :)

Looks like it worked out that way :D Finals week ends today!

  2. I've literally watched hundreds, if not thousands of users login to S and be almost immediately greeted by some kind of negativity and leave within minutes. Not a single one of them got far enough in to even know about any admins. Also, lately (past few months or so) I've heard reports of regulars on C following new players around and harassing them until they leave.

This will probably be my last and only response to this thread, as most likely my views will be brushed aside as "biased" by those who wish to ignore complaints about them and only see fault in the admins.

You've literally watched thousands of users log into S and leave because of negativity? What do you mean by negativity? Most probably leave because it isn't fun to play on a server with 3 other people online.

  3. Diplomacy!

I'm looking for more players for Diplomacy. Diplomacy is a turn based strategy war game based around diplomatic action, strategic movement, and backstabbing. All communication is done in game through the built in private and conference chats. Each turn, all players are required to submit orders for their armies and fleets. The goal is to either win by taking 18 supply points, or to end the game as an allied victory between multiple powers.

If you are interested in joining, read up on the game here: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Diplomacy

Once 7 players are in, the game will start. Phases are 24hr unless everyone gets their orders in early.

Don't join unless you can commit time every day to submit your orders or you'll quickly fall behind.

Once 6 people join, the game will start. Phases are 24hr unless everyone gets their orders in early.

Don't join unless you can commit a little bit of time every day to submit your orders or you'll ruin the game for everyone else.

  5. Well the idea would be to discuss games in the thread and then if an event was to be scheduled, for that to happen through one of the two steam groups.

Discussing every game session in one post seems like it could be messy. Having a "gaming" section on the forums would allow anyone to organize a steam or non-steam game event.

  6. There is new people coming to PVE everyday, they wont stay if they log on during an experement. I don't think its a great idea to risk loosing massive amounts of players due to testing. Along with that, over 80% of the players i see online i have never seen on the forums, so being misinformed could lead people to abandon ship. Maybe that might not happen, but i wouldn't risk it.

Why don't you think they would stay? It would be just like a new PvE rev but with more features. Players who enjoy the current PvE server would not be forced to go out into the new PvP area if they decide that they don't enjoy the new content.

  7. From what i have seen, P is doing well with population and everyone seems to be having fun, why scrap it for this?

Eh, it wouldn't really be scrapping PvE. If I understand the idea correctly, people who don't want to involve themselves in the new content could stay in the "PvE" area of the map. Essentially, they could play "classic pve" within the new map.

Having a new server, or even better, a trial run on the event server would be the best way to go about making this happen.

Trying the idea out on p.nerd.nu would work out best because it already has a large player base to experiment with the new features. New players are more likely to join and play on a server that already has an established community.
