  1. has asked not to have civcraft, has asked to be close to vanilla,

Im glad this has happened, also there are currently 7 people playing online now http://nerd.nu/usage/survival/

Between changing computers and forgetting account details I haven't been able to log on for months, but today I came crawling back to S to see how it was doing and here's what I thought:

    1. Why does it still say "reddit minecraft" on the little server thumbnail thingy?

    3. The spawn and the buildings look the same as they do every rev.

#2 die from lag and respawn in "twi and redwalls super secret hotub" which is a super creepy experience. #3 the warp signs at spawn are pretty cool.

Also 1. If you scroll to the top of this page and look in the left hand corner it's there too

    3. I ended up rebuilding my house based upon my house on previous revs because I ran out of new ideas for a house

#2. What the heck ROFL. I would like to see that hottub myself

  2. Terraria or Garry's Mod

A rotating Gmod server might be cool, switching from Sandbox for most of the day, to DarkRP, and even to TTT when people want to play.

Yeah, you could even set it up so an admin could remotely switch the game mode whenever someone else wants to play something different

  3. I get about a billion popups when I have Steam open. I've had people ask me what those were and why they saw them every 5 seconds, I generally have to log out of Steam to get rid of those, since I don't have any time to go through the groups. The ones that open them in separate windows are really annoying, They stack up each other and blink in your taskbar until you click on them.

If we did this I probably wouldn't even notice as I don't even look in that part of my screen anymore

  4. I don't think he said that, but the community in IRC contains many people that no longer play in-game.  Right now, this is the population of IRC:

Half these people haven't been seen in-game in months.

IRC is basically something different From In-Game/Mumble. I have never seen anyone in IRC talking about minecraft related stuff honestly. I'm being dead serious here

  5. I was on PvE, with Vanilla 1.7.10, and I was scrolling through possible villager trades with a villager in a minecart, then I crashed.

Now I was just going to ignore this, but I got a message in the launcher that said "If you were playing on a server, please let the server owners know".

So here is what showed up in my client crash report

I am assuming this was caused by the custom villager trading plugin that is running on P.

  6. So buzzie, Tom, and I just finished up talking about this. For 43:8 we all agreed to add in a recipe for it. We figured if we were going to add that in then 43:9, its sandstone counterpart, should also get a recipe. Since this block is available through the admin doppelgangers, the plan is to hold off until next rev to add these recipes in. Otherwise it would be unfair to the players who spent a good deal of diamonds to obtain the blocks.

As for TNT, for now we have no plans to enable either working or decorative TNT. We've seen on creative and survival revs that sometimes players will rig their builds to blow up upon map download. Yes there are ways for players to avoid this, but we'd like players to open up past rev maps without the worry of builds blowing up and the client issues that would come along with that.

I have had that happen to me before, and the only way to prevent it is to open up MCEdit and delete the tnt before loading the world download in Minecraft itself

  7. Modreq #246 on s.nerd.nu might have been a rollback, there were steps missing that went all the way down to the ground that were there before, hard to tell if it was grief or a rollback, but it is really high up in the air making the possibilities of a grief slimmer

Note: Also the servers has been having issues hanging on restarts, just to let anyone who hasn't heard know

  8. Are each of the servers hosted on separate machines?

If so, I'd look into it being a possible hardware issue. If they're on one of those sites that hosts stuff for you, I'd contact them and have them take a look.

Actually, even if they weren't on separate machines I'd look into hardware just to be on the safe side.

They are all on the same box remotely hosted. They use mark2 and bungee to manage 3 servers all in one place.

I have seen rollbacks on nerd.nu before, but it was due to severe lag on chaos. I believe if a server crashes it auto restarts, so if C crashed for example, it would start again and load the last saved changes, usually from a couple minutes ago. Tech admins might be able to restore a lost build if a server did a backup, that "Map Saving" message in chat.

  9. Whatever happened to that Google form that asked for suggestions awhile back.  I remember submitting one, but I dont believe there was ever a meeting or discussion about what was all submitted.

As for the smooth slab blocks.  I think it'd be pretty cool to have them, although with a slightly easier recipe.  I think using half slabs makes the most sense, but I think 4 half slabs in a 2x2 grid should give you 2 smooth slab blocks.

For 1 survival meeting a while back they had a Google Docs survey that had new ideas/suggestions and that was pretty helpful. I don't recall PvE ever doing something like that though. They had a Google Docs note sheet that had a couple different topics from that time on it. I believe it is still in /alert list on PvE

  10. Well it appears a few people do play League. For those who don't know, League of Legends is a free to play PC/Mac (sorry linux) game where 5 players try to destroy the other 5 players' home base while killing each other. Sort of. So how about this, I'll be on next Thursday after 7:00 PST on mumble. Anybody wanting to form a team or just try the game feel free to join.

you can still play Dota 2 if you are on Linux though
