totemo your awesome!

TNT, lava, etc tend to cause for the other servers. Other than that I agree to bring back chaos as long as the server can handle it and all that
-
There have always been problems like this and people reporting similar problems since 2012. When they got the better box it seemed like they went away but the problems later came back.

Weird, I gave the icon to jcll while IPB was still being tested, and I remember seeing it on the site like a week after the new forums went live, if that helpsAlso, I don't think I've ever seen any favicon and I don't see one on the server anywhere hrm ill try to look a bit more
Yeah, all the pretty URLs are all gone now, and I haven't had any problems since

Things are still working funny on my end. This thread currently shows up as
https://nerd.nu/forums/index.php?/topic/1871-site-maintenance/
and using my old bookmark (with /forum/) gives a 404. Also, I think there used to be a favicon (snoo creeper) that has been replaced by the default IP Board favicon.I was getting the 404 up until tonight, and now all the problems appear to have gone away. Now it is redirecting just fine, well after I have logged in and everything.
about that favicon, I made that in MS Paint and sent it to a tech admin, it was very pixelated and didn't quite look correct. I noticed it was replaced with the IPB Default later, and I assumed that they were going to replace it with something better.

It's working for me too
Yeah, it was most likely the Caching service messing up and later being fixed, all those issues appear to be gone now

Sorry, meant to upvote that.
Their are lots of great survival builds, I could take some screenshots and post them here for some ideas

If you keep hitting refresh you will eventually get to the page

[Removed post as I am no longer experiencing these issues]

However, a simple way around this would to have a backup system for all threads. Have it auto-backup to an archive whenever a thread/comment is posted, edited, upvoted, downvoted, the works. We don't need a fancy, fully decked out public access website, just a simple place to backup forum posts in-case people delete their threads to troll.
They would have to see how muck disk space that would eat up keeping track of all that

They can, during the staff only mod voting, some people actually replied to the post instead of voting, realized that there was a poll, and their post was deleted.I don't think even admins can entirely remove a post, though. They can edit it and make it full of nothing, but that just clogs shit up.
I remember seeing posts replied to the poll, hitting refresh and seeing them completely dissapear, as if there was never a post in the first place
-
Most of the time they can just edit the post to say "nevermind" or "Can a mod or admin delete this?" and the post gets deleted or stays there and everything will be fine

A modification of the glicko rating system, which is already used by nerd.nu/survival, would be ideal for rankings.
Even so, I think SimpleClans added more than just a rating system iirc?
I agree, we should have a plugin that uses the Glicko Rating System.
SimpleClans allowed you to do a lot of stuff basically, http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/simpleclans/

how often do people frequent this room? like half the time i log in, the room's empty and i end up wandering random front-page rooms trying to avoid crappy dubstep.
Same here

There were also some problems with commands like !mumble, but I know on PvE they made those actual commands, and they don't like it when you use the !irc, !mumble, etc commands because it spams chat or something like that

I must have misunderstood that. I didn't think they would actually say "oh, it will be done tommorow, so let's make a subreddit post saying that" while their still building. I thought it was an issue with not having all the admins avalible to launch or similar. The time isn't the problem, the thing that people have the problem with is that an announcement was made before the revision was anywhere near ready for launch, which lead to the map not being complete for the deadline.
What we are asking for is that in the future, the Admins wait until everything is finished, or at least very close to being finished before announcing it.

There's people on these servers who act way worse than you that we'd expect an apology from before you. We all get heated and pissy from time to time. Don't worry about it!
Absolutely true, I've seen people votekick other people and when they end up actually kicking the person they laugh about it. This sounds like nothing compared to the things I've seen

Edit: See my post below
-
I know how you feel, you are a really great friend and I am glad that you actually took the time to make an apology, I know some people wouldn't even do that.
You always seem like a friendly, nice person and I really can't imagine you being bitchy or rude to other people. I hope everything is ok and gets better

I think there is something they can do with nginx to fix that, but their is really no point as chrome and IE don't have this problem

Metal Sonic looks cooler IMO.
Sonic CD, yeah!

A few days ago in chat on C a user was trying to TP to another user when tpmode was set to ASK. The person he was trying to TP to kept saying he was not getting any notifications telling him someone wanted to TP to him. I then decided I would give it a go and I did "/tp hisname" and he still got no promt telling him. I asked him to type /tpallow anyway, he did and I was successfully teleported to him. A day or two later I came from P onto C to show a friend something I had built and asked him to TP to me. I waited a bit before I told him to send me the request, he said he had. I had gotten no promt about it so I asked him to send it again. Again, no notification telling me someone wanted to TP to me. I typed /tpallow anyway and he teleported to me successfully. Then later again that same day I showed a different user the same build and when they asked to TP to me I did get a notification about it. The following day I showed a third user the same build, and again it failed to notify me that someone wanted to TP to me.
It seems that it only sends you the notification some of the time. I don't know if this happens often but it happened to me a few times and the other person as well.
I've had problems with the TP plugin, TPControl before, but i've never seen anything like that. Their was a similar issue with the message plugin that was fixed, not sure if that will help with this

I could run one, It's actually pretty easy to set up, I can post here again once I get it running. I could make some people admin too.Okay, new line of thought. Unofficial dedicated server that's always up? I wouldn't have the first clue how to set one up and tom barely puts his up anymore. Thoughts?
I can also have it download all the CS:S resources for people who don't own that game, I know that has been a problem before

On Praha Way's grinder in rev 12 (after we updated to 1.7 and this became an issue) I adjusted the killing area for the skeletons so they could no longer "see" a player as they were grinding and this eliminated the arrows they fired into the wall. See if you can make a modification to the grinder that accomplishes this.
I've also poked the tech admins regarding the possibility of increasing the frequency of our removal of arrows (see nerdbugs:186) to help with the issue.
I can see if I can make a modification to the grinder to help with this. I also added my suggestion about increasing the frequency of /rem arrows 1000000 to the NerdBugs report.
The link to this forum from the subreddit doesn't work properly.

I still have the habit of entering nerd.nu/forum, maybe a tech admin would make nerd.nu/forum redirect to /forums as a permanent solution?
I don't see why not
