  1. As I was unable to attend the meeting after all due to unexpected family matters, I would like to listen to the meeting. When will the recording be available?
  2. turns out I won't be able to attend the meeting after all.
  3. It's the default config for NerdSpawn to generate that welcome message. I don't know why the old admins originally changed it to the dash from the default welcome message - maybe they thought it was spammy? I know I mentioned to buzzie once that it'd be nice to have the default message as it seemed to encourage a more warm welcome on S having it than just the dash, but i don't remember if he said why they didn't change it back then.
  4. When we transitioned from the uservoice website to the nerd forums suggestion subforums, it was convenient because it is centrally located, players don't have to create a new account on another site to use it, and we already have familiarity with moderation tools. One of the defining features of uservoice was/is that players/users can vote on those ideas/suggestions that are important to them. Our forum software provides the ability to host user polls on forum posts, and these are enabled for other subforums on nerd.nu/forums, but are inexplicably disabled on the suggestions subforums - where it would make the most sense to have them enabled in order for the community to more easily offer feedback on suggestions made. Please enable the ability to host polls on posts to the suggestion subforums here.
  5. I'd like to discuss a modded minecraft server/event during the meeting. I'd like to both here and during the meeting invite players to offer their opinions through the poll on this thread: https://nerd.nu/forums/topic/4132-community-survey-public-modded-minecraft-server-run-by-nerdnu/ I'm specifically curious as to what level of interest our active playerbase has in playing modded minecraft together, and if there is sufficient interest whether the head admins are willing to support an experimental modded server attempt. (I'm thinking a brief event). I'd like to discuss an event idea I submitted previously (warning, long-winded post link which i should have re-written to be more succinct: https://nerd.nu/forums/topic/3937-extra-hard-mode-18-survival/) and work as a community to design something that would be fun and engaging. I'd also like to discuss the suggestion forums, the /suggestion-box command, and ways that we can help the community to be more engaged in sharing their creative intelligence toward creating the kind of servers and community that we would enjoy.
  6. I forgot to comment here. /suggestion-box (and /suggestion-box-remove, /suggestion-box-abuser) has been active on nerd ever since slide wrote it, but after the latest staff meeting challenger merged my previously mentioned pull request and /suggestion-box-list is now available to any admin. This command basically just dumps all the suggestions made with /suggestion-box into the chatbox for the admin to view. The suggestions are grouped by the user who created them. The usernames are not visible, they are hashed into a long string of letters and numbers. Slide wrote the suggestion-box command originally so that issuing it is not logged by the server, so it *should* be pretty darned anonymous if players prefer that. So if server administrators wish for players to use this feedback feature for those one-off suggestions players may come up with while in-game, it now has basic functionality. :)
  7. the other day Challenger merged my pull request so /mail sent, and /mail readsent are now live on both the creative and PvE servers. I do intend on working on improving it so that the sent messages are removed from the list only when the sender chooses to do so. At the very least this should let the sender see mail they've recently sent before the recipient deletes it from their inbox.
  8. that'd be nice too. My issue was mostly that when the speedbuild round is complete, i want to see the winners so i can know which one it is, whether it's one i saw before judging was done, etc. I get disoriented most of the time and can't find the plot numbers easily, so by the time the mods/admins begin to roll stuff back I may have not even found all three winning builds to appreciate. Maybe the onus should be on the players to learn the numbering system of each arena, but it would still be convenient. I suppose a workaround would be for someone wanting this to do /sethome sp1, /sethome sp2, etc. and just have a bunch of /home's for the speedbuild plots.
  9. There should be some kind of teleport command that takes you to a different speedbuild plot depending on what number you specify, AND/OR a command that lets you teleport to the third, second, and first place winners of the current speedbuild round. It's a pain flying around rushing to find the winners before they get rolled back.
  10. Okay, I've copied and modified the commands to read the inbox/mail for use in reading sent items, and put those changes into this pull request: https://github.com/NerdNu/nerdCH/pull/30 Just have to wait for techadmins to approve/merge it, and load it up on the servers. The biggest limitation of this change is that if players delete mail they've received, then it will not be visible in the sender's list of sent items. Additionally if a player sends a lot of mail and the recipients don't always delete it, then the /mail sent list may become very full. I'd *like* to make it so that the lists are handled somewhat independent of one another, but that'd mean slightly more modifications. It's doable, but I figured I'd go ahead and put this out there since it's better than nothing IMO.
  11. is the mail managed by nerdch chmail2? or is it something done by a plugin now? I'm still not confident in my java abilities, but if it's commandhelper i could take a look at trying to get this working possibly...
  12. I think only techadmins can access the schematics saved with worldedit currently. schematica can save schematics, but I'm not sure if it saves entities like item frames or animals.
  13. I think this is a wonderful idea, and would be good advertisement for the server, as well as a public preservation of our history as a community.
  14. Maybe a techadmin would be willing to help me understand what method C uses for making TNT inert and why it isn't compatible with P.
  15. I've been derping with CH lately. went ahead and wrote a command to dump the suggestions into chat for admins. /suggestion-box-list https://github.com/NerdNu/nerdCH/pull/29 Just need a techadmin to review and merge the pull request and copy the updated file to the servers for it to be live.
  16. Just for documentation purposes, this was added recently and it works great! Thanks cadmins and techadmins. :) Only issues with the current setup I've noticed are that the arrow the player is seated on periodically despawns, is respawned, and the player re-teleported to the new arrow, which causes chat to close if it was open. Not a huge issue, just a minor thing, and a small price to pay for having cool chairs now.
  17. Interesting. Thanks for looking into it, Challenger!
