Discussing on reddit is a joke. Half of the accounts that participate never post in the subreddit in other times and the other half are trolls. I know some people have a persecution complex about fallout from stating their opinions but I have yet to see it actually happen. I'd like to have all server related discussion, threads like this one http://www.reddit.com/r/mcpublic/comments/1f41iq/survival_is_having_a_player_crisis/ca6w0x2?context=3 take place here in the forums. I think we should remove threads like this as the discussion and tone become toxic quickly and ask them to repost a link to a discussion thread in the forum. The forum has a lot of benefit over the subreddit for discussion. It is inline so you don't have to respond to multiple people in different posts We can manage troll accounts and postings People won't be buried by downvotes for having unpopular opinion Discussion doesn't become a popularity context at all because of the flawed reddit voting system Longer duration of thread visibility in the forums, not just 1 or 2 days More active community members will have time to see and participate with out being trolled I really think we should reserve the subreddit for pictures of builds, breaking news like update status, event posting and things like that. MCPublic is by far our best face fowards we shouldn't have it be dominated by useless "discussion", trolls and toxicity. Edit: TL;DR I'm not trying to get rid of discussion, I want it moved to the forums. Reddit is merely a collection of links, nothing is stopping us from linking threads from the forum to reddit, there is even a button for it. also maybe this should be moved to regular discussions.

Is there anything in the rules/faqs/spawn about the cpersist command? We should probably add that if not.

Basically you have been finding your way into hidden areas with out having to look at all. For example you made your way into 9600baudsmonster's base which is what brought this to my attention then found all his pretty well hidden areas. Fine. Then when you attacked potatoville you managed to find all the underground area's with out missing a beat. You broke the exact two dirt blocks that lead to underground passageways and no others in the entire area. Even the builders have other edits looking for those passage ways. Unfortunately the evidence gives away both the location of the base and the hidden areas so I am a bit hesitant to post it here on a public forum. I would like to know how you found the entrance to these bases though.

OK It has been a day and I don't think this violation is particularly that big of a deal. Don't come back to this forum again man, seriously.

This is against the rules, specifically "No use of LWC-locked blocks for the purpose of base defense or any other use than to protect the items within the locked block." We are regularly asked and do ban users who do things like break a row of carrots in a farm. I attempt to do moderation objectively and not change what it is that I do because of who is playing or how often they play. It is not of my personal opinion that this really constitutes a permanent ban however I am going to leave the rest of this up to the survival or head admins because of the amount of notes and previous bans in this case. /background]

Anyway if you were mining under lava with fire resist the item would burn up no? Frankly I had no idea this feature existed on Optifine and in my opinion by the time I gravelled out an area of lava, then dug it out, then mined out the ore I would have found diamonds doing regular branch mining much faster. Also before I built my new PC I was completely unable to play Minecraft with out Optifine. On my old AMD X2 with 1 ( I eventually upgraded to 2) GB of ram minecraft would run at like 4 fps but with Optifine run at a playable 20. I also happen to know a lot of people playing are on shitty computers also I would hate to tell everyone Optifine is not allowed because of one of the most edge of edge cases of its use. In terms of Reis, I don't see how we could possibly stop anyone from using is. Are we going to go into witch hunt mode? I mean it just seems like more work then needed or necessary.

I think it is a fine introduction to the forum. We are just launching these and trying to get our users to make accounts here and participate. I see no problems. Also I for one think AMAs on reddit are a mess to read, just like everything else. I welcome inline discussion!

I for one think its funny redditors are commenting that the theme is plain and too white. As if reddit wasn't the plainest, whitest page on the internet.
