  1. You almost got banned for xray around the 23rd of March (depending on time zone). What stopped me banning you was just that I like the evidence to be very clear cut. I've been checking your diamond edits periodically since then and haven't noticed anything untoward about your mining. I concluded that, since you had started a town, you probably were not going to risk trashing the whole thing with a roll back. Ironically, two days ago I was thinking to myself that I should have a quiet word to you about your previous mining so that you know that I know, and you don't get over-confident and think you got away with it. I get these odd bouts of prescience from time to time. These are the edits from March. Some ores under a granite and dirt wall between branches: Some diamonds in the ceiling where you went off branch: And a similar thing here where you went off branch, this time with the ores rolled back to show them instead of using glass: Any empty spaces in those screenshots were stone or dirt. I rolled back the ores in the last screenshot rather than marking them with glass. In that screenshot, I have checked the logs at feet level and there were none, indicating that you mined those ores off someone else's tunnel that was more than 2 weeks old such that the stone edits had expired. (We only retain logs on stone for two weeks to keep the size and duration of LogBlock queries under control. Other blocks are logged for longer.) The xraying you did in the last 24 hours was much more blatant: You also back-filled some of them with stone, presumably to conceal your edits. You were not consistent in that however, so I accept that you may have been in an impaired state today. That does not, however, excuse the cheating. Plenty of players manage to stick to the rules while under the influence. You are banned for one week. Your edits have been rolled back and your inventory cleared. Since it's pertinent to the handling of your ban, I'll comment on the handling of the rollback here in this appeal. Last night when I banned you, I departed from standard practice and only rolled back your chests, furnaces and some shulker colours that I could see in the storage area. I'm mindful of the drama that rollbacks in towns cause and the common practice has been for Padmins to, at their discretion, roll forwards selected edits of the banned player to restore communal builds. So I left the town rollback to the Padmins. When I came on this morning, I saw the town seemingly intact with the chest area restored and assumed that there had been no rollback. I was wrong. I decided to finish the task of removing the other colours of shulker boxes I had skipped that night. (Why did I skip them? Because I actually had too much other work to do, and you were the third xray ban I have made in the last day, the fifth in two days.) I mistyped the LogBlock rollback command, omitted the word "block" and LogBlock treated the list of shulker types as a list of player names and instead gave you a full 42 day roll back (which is full log retention and is correct for xray). However, as I subsequently discovered, the Padmins had run the LogBlock xray rollback command already. The difference being that in the current 1.13 configuration of the servers, there is bug in the code or configuration to do that and the rollback defaulted to 21 days instead of 42 days. As a consequence, the members of your town, Darkroot, are now dealing with an extra 21 days of rolled back edits that they were not expecting earlier in the day. I am embarrassed at my mistakes and frustrated at the unforgiving nature of the LogBlock command, at the very least. I am also sorry that the players in your town had to deal with the extra damage today. On the other hand, the rollback command that I issued in error was in fact exactly the one that would have been run if not for the bug in the configured duration of the LogBlock full rollback command. I suggest that if you are inclined to run a town, then don't xray. I have plenty of sympathy for your town members, but none for you.

Your inventory and edits have been wiped. Here's some screenshots of your tunnels.
  3. Before I go to bed I'll note the following admistrative details: User PigeonSquared Issuer totemo Server p.nerd.nu Reason xray on pve nerd.nu/appeal Time Banned May 11, 2019, 7:06 a.m. I'll handle the appeal in the morning. In the meantime, you can read the ban duration guidelines. http://wiki.nerd.nu/wiki/Server_Policies#Ban_Duration_Guidelines Also, please re-familiarise yourself with the rules, particularly those pertaining to x-ray: http://www.redditpublic.com/wiki/Rules
  4. I spotted a bit of diamond that you mined as well, the other day. We do check regularly for xray and it's usually obvious. If you do xray again, we will know. I noticed that you killed some enclosed farm animals and various pets (parrots, turtles). That is also against the rules. If you want to harvest farm animals, you must breed them first and let a breeding pair remain. The normal ban for xray would be 7 days on the first occurrence, with much longer bans on recurrence. The ban duration for the grief (including mobs) and fly hacking would be added to that. You have been honest in this appeal, so I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and unbanning you a little early. Please obey all the rules and have fun.
  5. Yeah, it's a shame. We do have lots of nice players for you to hang out with, but you need to play by the rules. I did see some tunnels you made to diamond, gold, etc that looked a lot like xray so you'll stay banned for a few days until I get the time to take a closer look at those. Unless you'd like to tell me about those as well?
  6. Everything was put back the way it was before you joined the server. With the exception of the ores that you mined, which were removed. Your base is gone.
  7. tittietoes sounds like good fun. I'm adding it to the list. Your inventory has been wiped and all your edits have been wiped from the map. You're banned for the customary 1 week with a longer ban if you xray again. Between 02:00 and 02:15 server time you mined 41 diamonds and only 263 stone, for a ratio of about 6:1. Here are some screenshots of your tunnels with gold, iron and diamond marked with coloured glass.
  8. You're banned for one week from the the time the ban was issued. Your inventory has been wiped and all your edits removed from the map (where they are still in logs). Remind me in a few days if you are not unbanned on time. Your tunnels, in part:
  9. I'd be sad to see minigames go, because I know that redwall poured a lot of love into that. But unfortunately, it does not hold lasting appeal for our current player base. You need to get a few people together who all want to play those games for them to work. Those people either need to be here amongst the current player base, or we need to advertise and bring them in (our constant dilemma). I'd be supportive of us adding one or possibly both of the following servers: Vanilla snapshot, survival mode. I was originally thinking creative mode for this, but i think it would be less hassle to support survival and add a little datapack for shulkers of rare items, with limits on those to avert a lava/TNT apocalypse. I can name at least 8 players who have played on private snapshot servers. It makes sense that we bring those people back into the fold and host them ourselves. Some of them, at least, paid for our current hardware. Mojang's current snapshots are quite flaky, and as such, we should offer no guarantees of stability or continuity of the snapshot world. The expectation should be that the world will reset once a week, if necessary, and no download will be offered. I don't think that any concerns about "stealing players" from PvE, such as those expressed here are valid because chaos is a different beast (e.g. no protections), and because they're still our players, and we serve them, not the other way around. But, explicitly managing expectations around stability and world continuity go towards allaying some fears of an exodus from PvE. Judging by the daily discussions on PvE regarding new 1.14 mechanics, I would say there is a demand for this kind of server from time to time, with spikes in activity every time Mojang releases a new snapshot. I would like to try a UHC server. It may fall by the wayside like minigames, because it's somewhat the same idea. That depends on our player base. They will decide its ultimate fate. The top Google result for "minecraft 1.13 UHC plugin" is UHC-Core, which has apparently been around forever and appears to be a turnkey solution for 1.13. I'm generally opposed to writing our own plugin for anything that already exists, unless it fails some critical requirement. Non-techs also generally have no idea how much effort it is to make things run smoothly. It's always best when someone else does that. I say two servers. We have the RAM. We have 8 virtual cores, taken up by PvE, C, 3x PvE carto processes (because the 1.13 carto software is a dog), and 1x C carto, for a notional load of about 6 cores. The PvE carto threads are "nice"d, meaning that if there is something more important to do (like running a Minecraft server) in a particular moment, then that thing takes precedence over the carto. So in principle, we can run those two virtual cores at full tilt without impacting PvE or C. The carto might slow up a little, but I expect that the snapshot and UHC servers (if we get them) would not be occupied 24/7, unlike PvE. I think we have to give up on the idea of updating cartos very frequently in any case. We currently can't update P's carto more than once a week. Actually playing the game is obviously more important than looking at pictures of someone else's builds. Once C updates to 1.13, I expect that carto will take even longer than PvE (because the map is massive).
  10. Get rid of the fly hacks and the xray mod. Be aware that I have correlated the IP addresses you logged in for this month to the times you xrayed for gold, diamond, emerald and redstone over the last 3 days. I know everything. I didn't look for xray further back. You're banned for a week. The next ban will be much longer. Your inventory has been wiped and all of your builds and chests removed form the map. Post a reminder appeal here in 7 days if you're not yet unbanned. Your mining style in a nutshell. Stained glass indicates ores.
  11. Staff account security is a very serious matter. Ensure that your computer is locked at all times when you are not in attendance. Unbanned.
  12. I concur, and I wrote the book. I also find it hilarious that you posted a screenshot proving you modified the contents of your mods folder shortly before you posted your appeal. That's proof that you deleted the xray mod. You are an incompetent xrayer and an incompetent liar to boot. Give it up.
  13. You have fulfilled the requirements of your xray ban and you are now unbanned. If you xray again, we will ban you for a longer duration. It's my hope that by using screenshots to demonstrate how obvious xray tends to be, that people will be dissuaded from even trying. I am frequently disappointed.
  14. If I haven't unbanned you by the 15th of April, open a new appeal to remind me or send me a message on these forums.
  15. Lol I just woke up. Not a difficult clue.
  16. Was that up in the far north north west?
  17. By evading your ban you have earned an extra 2 weeks of ban duration.
  18. No. To elaborate on that, you got an awful lot of diamonds and I don't fully believe you when you say that he was the only one xraying. Nor do I fully believe that you were unaware that p2weer was hacking.
  19. That concurs with my impressions of what saw in at least some of the block logs. I think the admins would be be gratified to hear that you've been enjoying the server. We appreciate new players, but obviously we can't allow people to cheat. We handle xray the same, irrespective of the method used to cheat, so you are also banned for one week from the time of the offence, and you inventory and all your edits have been wiped from the map. If you xray again, you will be banned for longer. Our systems do not automatically unban players, so if I forget, you can comment here to remind me. It's generally not difficult to spot xray, so it usually ends badly. Here are some screenshots of your mining. The edits connected with blue arrows are where p2weer directed you, whereas the edits connected with yellow lines are yours.
  20. I think I've said most of it already. The first xray ban is only a week from the time you were caught. If you do it again, the ban will be much longer. Our systems do not automatically unban players. I'll try to remember, but if I forget, you can comment here to remind me. Xray is generally fairly obvious to us. Here are a few screenshots of your edits.
