They may not miss you, but they will sure miss a lot of other people who feel the same, myself included. I'm not sure where toby pulled the 6 week figure from but I doubt anyone here thinks that is actually realistic.
I can't remember where it came from, just that it was popular at the time. I see that either you weren't in agreement at the time or have changed your mind. What do you want?
Everyone who leaves will be missed equally. No one group is more important than another - thats why we invited the civcraft people and thats why it was unfortunate we didn't want to continue the sort of server they wanted.

I'd like to recommend ways of cost cutting through server hosting.
... while providing better servers with more draw distance and minimal lag.
It would be a much better user experience at a much better cost.
What tells you that it'll be better user experience?
edit: Please can people provide some sort of uptime chart for any new hosters they suggest? OVH or some other name of theirs had downtime yesterday.

Aeyrix you could also say that mature people wouldn't discuss certain volatile topics in an open chatroom. If the mods ask for those topics to be moved to clanchats then we aren't missing anything in public that would be expected for mature people chatting.
Are you a P player?

Beer before liquor never been bettor. Try every beer you can reach, then move onto liquors, cocktails, chasers and all the liquid joy and courage in the place.

What, specifically, is wrong with posts being linked in the public log (since thats basically the definition of the public log)? Would you be willing to give us a hypothetical example in which this would be a problem, the costs of which outweigh the benefits?
Are the concerns you listed not enough?

How about you put a potential portal in every 1km^2 of the map then when a player claims it a mod rolls a dice in public (commandhelper?). D6 creates a portal. Maybe after two months let new towns roll the dice again where someone was unlucky first time around. That would create roughly 13 portals on the current world first time around, exactly what the rev actually started with. Another 6 later.

You guys are being ridiculous. Who are you to judge the content of a discussion that is not offensive and not against the rules. No one used any pajoratives and people were hashing out ideas. Once you used the idiotic mod voice then it became about circlejerking you.
I reject the premise of your question. You know that it's not offensive to you. What do the mods know rather than what could the mods guess that is favourable to you? They are doing a good job in ensuring a variety of people are not offended. 4chan is for the hard headed, go there if you want that kind of freedom.

If you know the intent of a conversation then in hindsight you can make a much more accurate judgement of what is going on and what needs to be stopped. If you don't have either of those, like anyone but you at the time then it's fuzzy. I believe that last time this was covered the outcome was it's acceptable when mods 'overreact' in a fuzzy area.

There's something in the UK news about how charities chase up people who are known for donating money in the past. If we didn't want to rush a new fundraising event do we have the emails of a large portion of past donors? Could we email all of them, regardless of whether they still play here or any Minecraft?

Just don't be a dick. Let mods deal with it on an individual case by case basis using temp bans instead of actual bans.
Also UNP, Please calm down.
Direct is ok, but raging like that seems unnecessary (but hey. do what you want. Just a suggestion)
That kind of freedom led to a level of variety some people couldn't deal with. They want uniformity in actions.

The current admins have considerable plans, and it seems that they get delayed by burnouts and bringing new people up to speed. Other than that setback, yes.

Also why is this revision so short? The rev started early April and is ending around the first second of June. Seems a bit short compared to previous revisions.
A very common request is for shorter revisions. I believe six weeks was a target.

Are you suggesting we ban health pots or ender pearls? Because both would be a terrible idea. Also, about the "better in the old days," in the "old days" there was no pearl cooldown, and it sucked (see: BraydenH).
There have been requests to go back to beta, to remove all or some of the things introduced since. I find that an overreaction, so I was suggesting a few things that would make things cheaper. Making things cheaper/quicker/easier seems to be a common theme in the successful changes - see enchantism.

What does the first question in the poll have to do with anything?
Perceptions, which is slightly different to basis for trust. I said yes to that question because I know of a few bad actions but I still trust the mod team.

Pearls dealing increased damage and ignoring feather falling is a horrible idea. They are an integral part of many tactics in PvP and having them deal 2 1/2 hearts in full prot is a recipe for disaster. Also increased pearl damage won't stop people from pearling too much because health potions exist. If increased damage was a better solution then the bigger Minecraft PvP communities would have dropped cooldown and picked up on it already.
There's a lot of "It was better in the old days" people here in the forums. I'm not one of them, I just suggested something that allows people to battle a little cheaper. You are correct about health potions though, for the same two reasons they could be banned.

Ridiculous's sounds a lot like Junction's idea for a P/S mix. That also had good detail and support but didn't get anywhere. It is certainly the one to try as it has the broadest appeal.

What rules would the players be asked to use if they want the event to be endorsed? How strict do you intend to be with this?
I've heard many people talk about having professional rented servers not going to their full use, if that's correct then we can have top quality hosts all over the world (assuming their ToS allows it).
-
Instead of pearl cool-down, have you explored the option of making pearls deal increased damage? I hated when we had pearl cool-down, and feel that just increasing the damage on them could have the same effect to stop people pearling too much.
I like this, and I'd include ignoring the reduction from feather falling.
I dislike the bed and buyable xp changes. Could you explain the need for these?
Spawn farm, bulletin board and buffer zone are very good. Could this include player made iron grinders?
I haven't seen any arena activity ingame, what times are they normally at and how much more can this vary?

What roast said applies to Magynus and what Magynus said applies to roast.
All bans are useless if you make an arbitrary assumption that they'll never reform. All bans are a waste of space if they, or trouble with common decency, take up space in your mind. All kicks are a waste of effort if they don't take notice. Lets not make such terrible broad assumptions. If we're wanting to think positively of new people then lets say that as the aim. Otherwise it seems you have a conclusion based on your desires not reasoning.
I still like kittypuppet's idea, but only if we have a problem with too many bans, and griefing is a significant portion of them. I don't see the current occasional delays as such a problem.

I think people here are looking at tempbans the wrong way. Don't think of them as "banned people getting off easy," think of them as an "extended kick."
It would be another tool for moderators, for minor offenses like spamming chat, using inappropriate language, not replanting crops, spawn-killing, very minor grief, etc. Give this person an "extended kick" as a warning, to correct the behavior. The idea being that if you can correct the behavior without rising to the level of a ban, it's better for everyone.
I like that we don't do it that way. It sends a clearer message that is considerably less ignorable. It's not a hardcore-like tempban where you go away for an hour and come back to do the same thing again. You come to the forums and spell out your wrong-doing. If that would correct the behaviour then I'd agree with you, it just doesn't fit human nature.

He started to act out in ways that /r/wtf would not upvote due to their weirdness.
edit: Someone said this would be funny. They were wrong.

It was a little too vanilla for him, and he decided to do something about that.

https://nerd.nu/forums/topic/3024-new-logo-design-contest/?p=24519 This is the only image big enough for Teespring. If the background of that image is transparent and take away the border it would be minimalist. Could someone make large enough (200x200+) versions of the coloured glasses?
