SAL Building Contest commences now! Due to popular demand, we are leaving the fighting area blank so that it will have the opportunity to change each week. Here are the requirements: You will have an 155 x 155 arena build area 50 x 50 blank area in the middle of the arena for fighting Elaborate design of the stands and arena Landscaping You can access this contest using /mvtp contest-SAL on Creative. Contest Building ends March 29th. Winner will be announced April 1st.

Yes, players will be able to submit floor designs for admin approval. Keep in mind that all designs for the floor should be done with PvP in mind. Anything that would not support combat will be requested to be tweaked before acceptance.

There is a way around this, I don't remember the way you have to write the highlighting code but there is a way that it no longer highlights that. Haha. As for the rules, Aypop, slide, and I were discussing this in mod broadcast the the other day and I was explaining that the reason that we have such a black and white rule on this is because if you offer ANY grey area at all, people will take advantage of it. It's unfortunate, but it's the case. I kick if I see it come up or privately message the person that we use other language on these servers; only under very rare specific instances do I end up banning right away. If a person does persist, I do eventually end up banning. This is a rule we've always had and it's to provide the best coverage for all parties involved. The staff is trying its best to keep a safe supportive environment for everyone and sometimes that means having a clear cut line in the rules such as not using certain words like gay.

It has been decided with a 3 to 8 vote that there will be a contest for the SAL Arena build. I will have a contest world set up for it on Creative this weekend and will announce when it is up!

Everyone will be having input or at least a chance to put in input. I'm not organizing it by myself, I've already addressed it with the head admins. I intend to plan it when a majority of the people can be there, both staff and players alike. Like I said earlier, there will be a thread for people to offer input before the community meeting. When I say community meeting I do mean community, not player, not staff, all of us.

We are planning on having a staff meeting and then a community meeting after the admin meeting that is occurring in the next week or so. Closer to the meeting we will have an opportunity for people to bring things up in a SEPARATE thread as items they want to have addressed and an outline of how the meetings will be run. I will even make sure to link the post in this thread after it is made. Please do not start offering suggestions in this thread or derail it with things other than talking about the topic at hand, those posts will result in being hidden. I am mentioning this solution because I want everyone to know that we are listening and we are working on coming to a solution so that the community can bridge the gap that is between certain circles.

We've had a few questions lately about the map for the upcoming Survival revision and after some discussion we're ready to release some details about the upcoming map. The coming map will start out as a 5K by 5K square, progressively getting larger to a final size of 7K by 7K. It is a custom generation, adding in cool biomes that have been lacking from other maps with four roads in each cardinal direction. In addition to the generation to make the map different, we are adding different builds to add an exploring aspect. As Dizney has stated in other channels of communication, "You won't be finding chests with magic spells, or level 3 rats near these things, they're literally just pieces on the map that are quick and easy to make (for the most part) and adds a little "Oh this is a cool thing I found". They won't be protected, they won't be used in an RPG sense, they're just there to add a little more to the game than just mining and PvP, but it doesn't take anything away from it. There won't be a distinct advantage to those who find these things is all. There's a little more too them, but I don't want to spoil them yet, but I can confirm they have nothing to do with RPG stuff at all." Edit: By custom generation, we mean I found a seed (after looking through at least 100, not even kidding) and then had a tech paint in different biomes to make sure it was perfectly rounded and offered a variety of biomes all over the map. From there it was then generated based on that painting.
