  1. All i was saying was that drama is unavoidable and yet Im blamed for "derailing" a thread about how to expand from MC? I am actively trying to run a steam group for nerd but cannot from drama and I give a warning of how it cant be escaped as long as nerd.nu is involved, suddenly I've become a hooligan who is inciting people to drama.
  2. How was it derailing the thread other than the fact someone got butthurt over it and began flaming me? It simply said that drama is unavoidable in nerd related things and then someone comes along and proves it, then IM the one who gets in trouble and gets threats for "driving away" someone from the community!
  3. magnyus pls people say that i am trole you alone see that it wasnt
  4. ARE YOU MAD ABOUT SOMETHING YELL IT OUT HERE JUST LET OUT THAT RANT NO HOLDS BARRED CAGEMATCH CHAMPIONSHIP CAPS UP AND THROW DOWN
  5. like eehee said, i run a steam group called RedditMC Gaming. We play many multiplayer games, but mostly just Source-based for ease of use etc. The group is alright, i guess, but a bit anemic as of late. Time for the No-Holds-Barred part. We used to play Trouble in Terrorist Town a LOT, like, five hours a night for a few months, with a record of 23 people at once in a mumble channel. We played on various public servers, but sometimes it wasnt cool since there were other people that weren't part of nerd, just random players who happened to be on at the same time. We looked for a private server, considered costs, and were ready to rent when someone said they had a private server. So we used that for two months or so, until Nerd Dramatm got brought over and caused a pretty major divide in the group, between those who wanted equality and those who wanted control. Hell, this drama even caused major rifts in a NON-nerd group. Now once again the call for a Community Admin arises, and some who attempt to answer only will do it for personal gain, and staff who are against rocking the boat and being a bit daring will now endlessly debate, create polls, and continue to spew excuses and create scenarios of extreme failure etc. I'm tired of it. I thought that this was a place where anyone's ideas could be said, discussed, and implemented, not a gilded prison of bureaucracy and the playground of the connected. Nerd despises change, and only does so through much pressure, or someone with power pushes it forward. For Nerd to have a new face, a new direction, a wider community, it has to look inwards and change itself and the politics that is its current direction. EDIT: My personal thoughts are for someone not currently on staff to be recognized as a Community Organizer/Admin, not current staff as this will sharpen the already major divides in the server player bases
  6. The only way to get good discussion is to.
  7. Honestly thats all I want to see, something that isnt fussed over for weeks just to crash day one. Just go with the flow, see how it works. Too much discussion can ruin the whole idea.
  8. Den, there is a small setting that is changeable to stop the popups. Popups are on by default, but most people I know have them off. Just because you don't want them, doesnt mean that no one wants them. I would be very interested in seeing just what games were being played, or if I see a game being played, I would hop into mumble etc and see if I wanted to play, or if there was room. Not everyone is like you, I understand that a large amount of thought needs to be put into this, but just step back and let the group prosper and naturally evolve, instead of presenting the carefully curated presentaion that is normally made by nerd.nu.
  9. quick note, the announcements aren't what you use to advertise games, its events timed for "now" or "5 minutes from now". Also the events are much more than just games, take a look to see everything you can do.
  10. The steam group is bad. There needs to be a complete airing out, a cycling of staff in it, and a rework of its use. Right now the comments on it are terrible spam, and have been for a long time. No events are being made and posted, there have to be outside groups made by the players in order for there to be any games organized. There should be an admin position in place for the Non MC side of nerd, but currently complaints of how we need to branch out are met with replies of "we are" but how? Only looking for new players is not truly branching out. There is proof of old players returning to MC because they game with us and then play MC with us too. Outside people too, people that are friends of people that game then come and join nerdMC. But currently there isnt a single mote of recognition from anyone in positions of power that the group is bad. I bring this up often, that the group is bad and stale, but rebuked with claims of how new people join all the time. Player numbers is not freshness. There are deceased persons in positions of power. I said this once to a moderator on mumble and was kicked for disrespect. I want to keep saying this but as long as there is not an official response then Im done with nerd. I dont want to be part of a group that claims activity and isnt. I request an official Admin response on this topic.
  11. I run an unofficial nerd.nu group. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/redditmcgaming Its the Steam group that actually does shit. We play almost every night, and play various games such as TF2, Gmod, Civ5, Firefall, Planetside2, and others. I want the main Steam group to be more active but when there are deceased persons in major positions of power then your group has gone stale. I made a post a while ago about how there needs to be a community Admin but I was told that there is no need or reason for one. There should be one, imo, for reasons like this, or for the people that actually want to play and do things outside of MC. I havent seriously played MC in about 8 months, but the staff want a person who plays on the servers more. I believe that someone who does NOT play MC is the best choice, as the obvious server divisions are useless when there are no servers. Join us, we'll be playing a CSGO tourney on Saturday.
  12. Twi was quoting me when she said that, and im only 17. Im sure in Belgium the drinking age is like 4, but in murica its 21.
  13. You brought us alcohol, of course its ok.
  14. I like the natural generation, it gives good personality to the map. The map is really small though, i heard it was going to expand. Is it true? Spawn city needs to have its intentions published and announced. Right now its a massive area that has some roads near the middle, but not a lot near the edges.
  15. nah its fine i was being a dick and i made a mistake I messed up and i take responsibility. Maybe we can play again soon.
  16. If this is about yesterday im sorry. I wasnt thinking, just doing it for "teh lulz".
  17. Good god that beard is impressive.
  18. Why not have notices pop up when a game is starting, rather than check a subreddit for times which can get very confusing what post is when.
  19. Its not that we've grown bored, its a way to introduce new people to the server. These people you play Garrys Mod with? They built a castle half a kilometer square. These you survive with in Rust? They hollowed a mountain and slay dragons, too. But with no focus on the nonMC areas, the people browsing for a server will never even see us from the Steam angle.
