  1. Damn mag you have a full sized machine and what looks like a small server setup in that too???
  2. A rotating Gmod server might be cool, switching from Sandbox for most of the day, to DarkRP, and even to TTT when people want to play. TF2, I wouldnt be against, as long as it had complete stock rotation. (muh tc_hydro) Killing Floor would be a good one too, or Just Cause 2. Starbound is recieving an update soon that includes improved netcode, along with piles of other things as well. This would be my personal choice. I know Civ 5 has a dedicated server feature, so that could be a background process for whenever a group wants to play without fearing unreliable internet. Unturned isnt the best choice, the netcode is bad and it is very very CPU intensive, so a 16 person server requires a beast of a machine to run smoothly. Rust has died from a development point, and is still rather expensive for most people.
  3. Most mods (those who dont play on nerd) dont like an official server being chosen, and have done almost everything they can to get it unaffiliated with it
  4. The fact we arent "officially" the server for /r/minecraft is that mods in it are against an "official" server, but as AllNaturalx is top mod and creator of r/minecraft and r/mcpublic, the sidebar links stays.

    Rust?

People used to, but it's pretty much dead as updates go, and most everyone who played got sick of it quickly.
  6. This is the core problem I've seen and talked about over the past several weeks, but excuses and sidestepping shut down talks almost as soon as they start. I would be ecstatic if staff gave complete transparency. Future plans, thoughts on players, any reasons and/or steps taken for anything should be public. Putting things behind a "STAFF ONLY" wall and wondering why staff and players are disconnected is idiocy to me.
  7. What even. People have already been brought in from outside S, outside nerd even, and yet the people with the most liked suggestions and most well received ideas are the players. I dont know what you think to accomplish but nearly every post you make is an attempt to stir up drama or argue on subjects you dont know anything about, both here and on mumble. Just stop with this bad attempt at trolling.
  8. Not in the overall sense, but more that we stopped playing it.
  9. Using context, does this mean that people with known bad behavior at any time are not allowed to be staff? (Not trying to cause drama, just looking for a clarification)
  10. requesting lock on this thread, target goal acheived.
  11. When they arent on their own server as much as they are on other servers, you can see a problem arise.
  12. I heard some suggestions such as dizney, mrgauthier, and tornadohorse, of which I am against none.
  13. avada had a bear skin, and TokenChineseGuy took it and began modifying other peoples skins on the server to include the bear head. Upon distributing them and demanding that people wear them, if they refused he would raise cain about it and harass them for not being a true ted. Its gotten to the point of serious harassment every time certain people join the server over a simple skin mod, but mods wont stop it because its "harmless" and "playful"
  14. just send me a note when you are ready
  15. I can set up an event tonight on RMCG, if that helps.
  16. Not me personally, but I will update this with proper examples from others. My thoughts may have not come across clearly, but I believe that it means if you continue expressing something to Staff that they do not like, then a ban is on its way. It may not be correct but that is what was understood. All these fall into the discretionary portion of punishments, where one person sees something, someone may see another thing. One moderator may see a no-stops debate, and another sees a flame war between two people over an unimportant subject. New rules don't have to be added, only a different method of dealing with undesirables. It isnt nothing, but it is overreaction and rather quick and judicious process too. The details of the warning I share with you through Steam. The term is, has been, and will be a sticking point of nerd. It isn't a rare term to be heard when talking to and about players.
  17. This paragraph gets me, specifically the last two sentences. Head Admins have been talked to before, and major consequences have followed, for things such as expressing opinions and sharing information. Talking to Heads normally expects a response of some kind, a recognition, consideration of opinion, et cetera. But for there to now exist a statement like this saying that if you don't like the Heads stance, then step off or get banned, it worries me. Legal handwashing exists, and this is a prime example. The last sentence, taken in recent context, creates some unpleasant scenarios in my mind. This appears to be a shield from responsibility, and the line between spirited debate and hostile attack is thin, and different lenses make different pictures. Using examples from the recent event, I am being blamed for twilexis' leaving, and that I incited a small riot on various nerd platforms. I am accused of ridiculing an Admin, and that I disseminated edited photos using their likeness, digital and real. Under these new rules and regulations, I would have been instantly banned by multiple staff, as the evidence and accounts that were presented as above are now grounds for removal. Introducing new rules require an adjustment of methods. In mine and several others eyes, these new rules create a way for "undesirable" players to be removed without resistance. Understanding that staff hold grudges and have skewed perspectives on some players, this makes me fear for the group I associate with. Several of us are despised by some staff in high power, and the fact some of us are unrightly banned often, even temporarily, makes us unsure in the staff competence to perform duties without major bias. Being labeled as a hooligan, a drama-queen, and as someone who disrespects staff, seeing the dark side of nerd does not give me hope, and now I see it coming out to everyday methods and conversations. Being warned that I am a post away from a permaban is disconcerting, but I figure that documentation is best at this point, and that if I go down then I may shed light on those who rule. Don't take this as a personal attack, it isn't. This is simply an opinion on changes, and a small example of what lays further down this path.
  18. c45y i think thats a good idea, its just that the history of nerd and things with its name is that if staff are not involved in some high position then it is not recognized as "official", and sometimes its not the way to go. some things need trust, but i understand if staff are distrusting given history
  19. the main thing i have seen is that these should be community owned, not privately, as not to encourage people to pocket cash. any donations etc should be put towards running nerd servers in general
  20. being >THIS< much of a pleb nice to know that the lite ranks worked on ya /banter (silver 2 and proud)
  21. I want a nerd.nu-related steamgroup that is active and has the ability to become a platform for not just steam games but also for other things as well. The current Reddit MCpublic group is not what i wanted. There are two or three people who run it and it is a bandage on a bleeding wound, which if not fixed can be deadly. There has been a lot of fuss, which is why the unofficial group got split. For more information, contact me directly.
