  1. I do not curse that frequently, at all. Granted, I have a tendency to cuss in chat, but not in every other breath. I take care to allow players to realize that it is to be taken as a joke, and so it is taken as a joke.

I'd like to stress that cussing is allowed, yet I earned a 2 week ban for it. I find this pretty controversial and questionable.

EDIT: Also, if I see a players name that is unknown to me, I'll often give a cheerful greeting and get to know them some. I take ease when a player is unknown to the concept, yet they quickly pick it up and acknowledge it with no difficulty due to the obvious placement of words by myself and many others.

  2. First of all, I do not spam very often at all. Come to think of it, I haven't spoken very much at all in chat recently, as I've been busy on mumble. Take a look through the logs, you'll see.

Secondly, my behavior doesn't disturb the community in a negative way at all. No-one has ever left due to my behavior, and frankly they never will. As I've said multiple times, far worse things get thrown around constantly, whereas what I say in chat is simply a joking reference to a friend, not in any way the entire community and not in any way harmful to anyone at all, no matter whether I'm referring to them or not. I find it sickening that horrible insults are directed at players 24/7, yet you focus on a joking entrance of "Fuck this shit" with such drive. I don't understand the logic behind you at all, and frankly I don't think many others do. It's accepted by the entire community that what I say is taken as a joke, you know this damn well. If anything, players find it humorous and take even more pleasure knowing that it's not at the expense of any other players. There's no picking on, there's no directed insults. You're out of the loop.

  3. Really? In what circumstance does

    "Fuck

    This

    Shit"

earn a ban? Far worse words get thrown around, ROCKONN. I find this absofuckinglutely ridiculous, pardon the cuss. No other staff member mutes me nearly as much, yet you're one of the mods I'm in contact with least.

  4. 1.) I honestly have no idea, mostly because I don't want to start anything big myself only to find myself leaving before the rev even ends. I do have builds planned but their purpose would be more appropriate in a PvE environment, or a separate map that I would work on entirely on my own.

2.) I'll leave it up to you.

3.) What is it going to take for you to calm down?

A tide of Holy Dribble powerful enough to drown Moses in his feeble attempts to split the sea in half.

  5. S has fairly low grief, P being pretty secure in protections etc.

However, C is riddled with buildings littered with holes and builds that would be considered grief due to their consuming and obviously intentional space-taking. C has a very low level of players, averaging 1-7 these days. As of the last 5 days or so we've had a steady 5 (approximate) in our online players list, however it can easily go out if control when there's far too many griefers on in an aVo fest, or when there's an extended period of time where 1 or perhaps 2 players can cause a lot of damage unnoticed. I think more regularly active attention should be paid to C, not just awareness. There should be more checks and most of all more mods able to be called at a near instant when they're online in IRC, or perhaps mumble.

TL;DR - No, read it you lazy shit.

PS: One of the main things I'd like to simply state is that we need faster reaction to grief fests, even though they never happen. Consider yourself one of those guys that is always preparing for a zombie apocalypse. :DL

  6. Perhaps you could simply set a notification message to be automatically said by [broadcast] when a player disables the timer, and to make it even better perhaps have a 5 second timer until the PvP is on, to allow players to read the message and have a possible chance to not be struck too soon.

  7. Dost thou still wear thy necklace with pride, honored of the power and glory bequeathed upon thee as if the same great day of your royal entrance to the Covenant of Eeibble was relived each day, yet never dead?

Swag, swittigy with a Mag and a boy telling me to eat a bag? Yolo, though lo and behold-o appears Obey snapbacks?

  8. I apologize for the build, and understand that it was inappropriate.

I do understand which rules I have breached, and apologize for bypassing the set rules of the servers.

I ask that I may be unbanned, and understand if you cannot do that yet.

    Thank you for your time.

EDIT: Disregard this if it is irrelevant, but I feel a need to point out that my NSFW build may have been misinterpreted as an ejaculation build. It was not; it was a statue releasing the tides of his bladder. If it's bannable either way, disregard this.

  9. My main and most obvious concern is people finding a way to break out of the KOTH and exploit the signs somehow, walking away with essentially free enchanted gear.

This is pretty well handled anyway, to be honest. There's full sets of leather armor, swords everywhere and tonnes of bows - people still try to steal it and they fail no matter what strategy they use. Enchanting will only up a stealer's want for the items, not give them any advantage. They'll just be more frustrated and swear a lot louder when they ragequit on it.

  10. Hey there,

Almost every time I die on the server (I play on S as Mildlymediocre), I lose my connection to the servers. Actually, it resets my internet connection for the entire computer. Websites won't load and I can't access other servers. Any ideas on what might be happening?

    Thanks!

I'd assume it must be on your side, sadly.

Have you downloaded any large files recently? Do you usually keep powerful programs running at the same time as Minecraft? I'd test on S again without anything else open, then on another server not in the nerd.nu domain.

  11. You think Sharpness V is OP?

I did a lvl30 enchant on my Diamond Sword last week and got Fire Aspect II, Sharpness III, Unbreaking III and Looting II. One enchant.

    That was XP well spent.

    Only Sharpness III? Beggar. ;D

  12. I mainly consider it to be luring a player into a situation where they

    A) Have to grief to live/escape etc.

    or

    B) Unknowingly grief a build due to a baiter claiming the build to be their own, and asking for assistance to remove it.

I know that probably isn't really the pinpointed answer you were looking forward to, so I'll chuck in a couple of less-general ones that haven't been mentioned.

-This may not be understandable, but I'll try my best. If a player were to be fleeing from another player onto unclaimed land, they could quickly create a 3x3 claim and tower up into the sky to escape. Of course, bows solve these issues.

  13. Some bans don't have a reason though.

I know someone who got banned by admin with the reason Banned. I actually told this admin that banned player made a fake account and appealed for another person because they knew the servers better than their friend who doesn't even bother to do things himself. (Slavedriver a bit). And this admin knew it was fake because it had the same ip address as their main account.

A simple, plain phrase/word like "Banned" (without guidelines to appealing) is usually to let a player know that they've been banned for obvious reasons.

If a staff member feels that a player doesn't acknowledge the ban reason, they'd likely state it.

"Banned", I assume, would only be used for the players that know damn well what they've done wrong, whilst at all other times the reason is stated and guidelines for appealing are made clear.

The staff members can think for themselves, they know how people work. They can interpret accurately, and whilst it may be unnerving to think that a staff member may interpret something wrong - I assure you, they won't. They know the classic worries of that topic/subject.

They know - it's okay. :DL
