  2. LetsB would throw him out for stalking and finding him. Then maybe give him some Easy mac to go.
  3. 0, the waitress wouldn't get your chemistry joke and you would leave hungy pink right now (not a joke) CommunityCraft would be cool. I'm sure someone took that already. His name was [censored] and yeah we live togther right now.
  4. Haha LetsBFehr is a huge rollercoaster fan. Grew up on Roller Coaster Tycoon and now I build more realistic rides with NewLimits2. I've hit over 100 roller coasters, and my favorite ride is easily Maverick at Cedar Point. The Coaster at Dumboland is beautiful and I love it as well. Bonus answer: check out my pro youtube vids of rides. http://www.youtube.com/user/hockeymaster266/videos
  5. Yo I'm LetsBFehr, I'm a C admin. Ask me anything. (Answers are not guaranteed to be correct)
  6. Changes announced here: http://www.reddit.com/r/mcpublic/comments/1w91r2/updates_on_creative/ Obviously this isn't all. We would like to keep working with all of you and get more things implemented. Keep the ideas flowing. Some things to discuss: More WE capabilities? (outlining circles) Flyspeed? Allowing Roleplay back in general chat Flowing water being available to all players Arrows being enabled for pvp There are probably more I'm not thinking of right now. so post them! Discuss/critique/tell me I'm wrong and stupid to consider these. -LetsB
  7. Can we get a tech to check these proposed changes out? Some people are getting a little angry that nothing has come of our discussion.
  8. Hey unrequitedlover, Yeah I banned you earlier when I found that you had joined the Creative server and spammed lava over a couple of builds. Obviously that is against the rules. I suggest looking over the rules found [here](http://www.redditpublic.com/wiki/Rules). There are always people in game that are willing to help if you just ask. Please respond here when you have read over the rules and understand them to be unbanned. -Letsbfehr
  9. Yeah seriously guys we listened to your comments and are finalizing the changes with some techs in admin chat. We can't make some of these overnight, but rest assured change is coming to C.
  10. In response to https://nerd.nu/forum/index.php?/topic/1524-creative-the-current-state/ , I think we are in need of some changes on creative. Here are some things, that with the other C admins approval, I would like to go ahead with as soon as possible on C. A true survival mode when using /mode, including damage by fall/fire. Allow arrows to be used. Expand the current map, and target a mid-march revision change. Have the use of /wand to measure things (I'm not that familiar with wand and it's capabilities, so if there is more that could be dangerous let me know) Allow players to put blocks on their heads allow potions to be used (except invisibility) Allow block placement of TNT by everyone (so it's aesthetic and doesn't explode like now) Allow the placement of beacons by everyone Obviously much of this isn't vanilla, but the community has spoken and I don't see how any of these could harm our current small playerbase. Let me know what you guys think.
  11. Just a small response for some things that have been brought up: Moderators While I do think it is nice that mods have at least tried all the other servers, it isn't and will never be a requirement. I've played 2 revs of S, 3 revs of P, and 12 revs of C. This is one community and mods are expected to act and behave and do what they can across all servers. That being said, it is also important to stress that while we are the same community, servers are different. I still only do flow requests on S because I just am not 100% comfortable making some calls. Mods should always be there for help and assistance, but don't leave your comfort zone, ask for help, all the mods and admins are willing to help. Spawn I understand and actually was one of the people who brought up my initial problems with the C spawn. The current confusing tunnel system will not be used next revision. nerd.nu/applyformod We had sort of a policy shift on this, if you would like your name to be considered, put in in. This isn't a requirement, just an indication that you are interested in becoming a mod, and I hope what we get out of it is more people paying attention to those on the list and interacting with them more. Mod Nominations Time between nominations can be a problem. Last time a C mod was not chosen, and despite our strong need for a C mods, we just now are getting into the process of MAYBE getting a couple more in. It's been over 6 months since a C mod was chosen and voted in.
  12. I do appreciate this thread. It brings up some issues that I feel need to be addressed. Mods I completely agree that this is an issue. We don't have ANY active C mods. Looking through the modreq list, marting and I alone combine for more than 50% of the modreqs. While we don't require mods to ever do modreqs, it can sometimes get tiresome when you log on to 10 requests and feel the need to do them because they were made 6 hours ago. The way to solve this is to get new mods. Unfortunately, our voting process hinders this. We have 2 maybe 3 mods who play C a couple times a week, and 4 admins. When a C person is up for nomination, those 6-7 votes aren't nearly enough. While some people vote yes because they know C needs mods or they know them from another server, it helps, but still C players are easily the lowest on the list for nominations. I don't have a problem with this, but if you know C barely has mods, why refuse someone such as Magnyus who was a great player and had a good amount of votes? If we expect everyone to get a certain percentage when 70% of voters don't play on C, it's going to be extremely tough. Ultimately it is the head admins' choice, but I believe that the distribution of mods and the need of mods should factor in to their decision. The community I think we all can agree that C has a bit of a community problem. In the past, many cures have been discussed such as disabling flying and building large community builds. I think that the only cure for Creative is the playerbase. As an admin I do everything I can to promote a better community. I've really tried to put an emphasis on having things other than the traditional "lets build together". PVP is new and is a hit, and speedbuilding I hope will be a big success. But in the end everything myself and the other admins do only goes so far, it is up to the larger community to attend those events, tell people about the servers, and make C a great place. The community isn't fixed by the efforts of few, it's going to take everyone. Lobby I agree that the lobby needs to change. It's not my call but waiting for a "contest" to design it could take months. Just pick a build. Myself and the other 3 admins are ALWAYS up for suggestions. Whatever you ideas that you have that you may need help on let us know. We all care about Creative and are willing to do everything we can to improve it. -LetsB
  13. You know you probably don't know/remember this, but when I first joined P in the initial hours of rev 2, you offered me shelter and some food at that small place you had just built. It was really one of the first interactions I had with someone here at MCpublic, and your kindness lead me to staying and playing here. So thanks for your initial kindness and for all you have done for this community. Best of luck with whatever the future holds. -LetsB
  14. It's only a one time event, but myself and many others would be willing to do more if the turnout is good! Also, the arena is open so if you ever want to just run an informal one just announce it in chat.
  15. SpeedBuilding on Creative! What? Last year we had a speed building craze on C that was extremely popular, and I think it's time for it to make a return! Speedbuilding is a game in which players are presented with a topic and only have a certain amount of time to build something. In our case, this even will have 4 rounds of 10 minutes each. Each round, I will announce a theme, and you will have 10 minutes to build the best thing you can within your plot, myself and a panel of judges will then choose a top three and we will move on to the next round! This sounds fun! When is it? This event will be this Saturday, January 11 at 2PM EST! It will be held at /warp arena on C.nerd.nu! If you aren't on the best coast (East Coast), you can use this converter to find when this event is! http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=SpeedBuilding%21&iso=20140111T14&p1=179 But wait, do I win anything? Glad you asked! While it's hard to give too many awards on C, the winner of each round will have his build immortalized at the C arena! The Top 3 of each round will be posted on a large permanent sign at the stadium as well. You also gain the satisfaction of being a better builder than all 27 other people and have bragging rights. Sweet sounds fun I'll be there! Anything else I should know? There are 28 plots available, and they are on a first come first served basis. I won't reserve plots so arrive a little early! Also, there are 28 plots, and if we have more than 28 people, some people may have to cycle through each round! If this event is popular enough, we can do more than 4 rounds and have more fun! Looking forward to seeing you all there!! -LetsBFehr
  16. Okay sorry I'm a bit late to the party but here's my ideas/suggestions for next revision. Map I'm with Buzzin on this one, I think smaller would be better. We always can expand if needed. The current map was mostly empty for months and even today has some parts that are vastly empty. If we are going to improve the sense of community on Creative, I think a smaller map where builds are closer would be better. I also would like to do a vanilla map. World Painted maps are fun, but since this one is heavily world painted, then I would like to see the next one more vanilla, with caves/forests/rivers/mountains. Spawn Spawn definitely should be above ground. The old tradition of having the player walk through a maze and passing all the rules signs seems to be passed, let them spawn with a rulebook and fly out. I think a lake or something would be cool, with maybe a ship being attacked by a dragon or an estate on the lake's edge. Spawn City I trust marting in making it successful. Warps Pre-revision Warps: pixelart, bigtown (with plots/tutorials, I can build this), and maybe redstone towers. I think the warp policy should change. From what I have experienced talking with people, it seems the consensus is that warps are reserved for really good builds and really big towns. I really would like this to change and us be a little more lenient in giving warps. Right now we only have 4 warps on C that were not built by a member of staff. I think it would encourage growth and cooperation and people building more if we showed that their build doesn't have to be front page /r/minecraft material to get a warp. The Flying/No Flying Debate I think that flying is essential, but being able to set a region to no-fly where the person would be grounded upon entrance would be extremely beneficial. A problem I see with C is that besides building together, there isn't much people can do. Pvp has already been very popular, but I think if we could expand and have the no-fly regions a modreq-able thing, then a whole bunch of opportunities open up such as spleef/parkour/mazes. Miscellaneous Ideas -Try to prebuild as little as possible. Things like arenas and main roads should be built when the rev launches. -fix pvp so that /mode enables you to use potions/be hurt by falling and fire. -Entities. Allow them again? I feel like some cool redstone things could be possible and it's always a complaint I get from people trying to build dropper/dispenser contraptions. Idk about the technical shortcomings of this or if it's possible, but just a thought. That's all for now. Discuss/critique.
  17. I know in the past we had commands such as /spleef that would replace an entire area with a new block. Maybe a /speedbuildclear or something would be possible to clear the plots so a new round could begin?
  18. I like your plan, the clay plots definitely need to go.
  19. Now that 1.7 is running on all servers, any update on the current advertising situation?
  20. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a planned change but /up no longer places a glass block under you.
  21. I just got on and all those bugs seem to have been fixed. Stained glass blocks reporting as locked chests was also fixed.
  22. Some things that have worked well in the past: -Build contests. -Scavenger Hunt. -Speed Digging (at soleil?) -Speed Building
  23. I voted no. While I think it is a great tool and can be sometimes beneficial to use, it's just another non-vanilla tool that aids with building. With flying I don't really see a purpose besides going through things, which just creates some drama with people who want to keep their builds private. It also could ruin the revision scavenger hunts as people could just compass through instead of solving the puzzles. I'm not sure about causing lag, I know that was a concern in the past, but I'm not sure if that could be fixed.
  24. Is this AMA still going on or am I too late?
