  1. Right I'm not going to be there for the start however I'll leave a channel up for it, we'll keep it going until it all burns out, what we do is really just up to whoever is there at the time.
  2. I believe what is going to happen is SwitchViewz and myself are going to lead the project in general, however we will have several objectives that can be claimed on trello. Once all these have been claimed if a new player joins they may approach any of the objective leaders and ask what needs to be done. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. Excellent, the deadline for August 24th: all build claimed and assigned by staff members. Would this be leaders of the projects assigned to the individual projects e.g. player x assigned to creating planet x or is this everyone that is working on the event assigned a different task?

Right so there are a few worlds in event dev I'd like a little update on. mv list: [redacted] If we cannot find a use for some of these worlds we should remove them there is no use in having inactive worlds up. Please get back to this quickly I'd like to get event-dev sorted out so we know exactly what is going on instead of it being a mess.

  6. The event lobby is almost complete now and we need to add in some final details. If you like you can log into event-dev and go to the spawn and start building your spawn secrets. Just remember to document where you left it as I have a plan for them.

I get where you are coming from however, a lot of the rules are there to reduce staff workload, some of the restrictions really help us, for instance the flowing water/lava when used to grief causes an annoying amount of work which I believe would cause the staff to burn out quicker. We do try to look at the rules every now and then to see what we can relax/what we really do need to tighten up a bit.
  8. Sir_Didymus has also said he'll help out. Looks like we have our team: Myself, Barlimore, zburdsal, Mrloud15, Excessivetoker, JudgeDread, Zomise and Sir_Didymus. I'll let you all know when the testing starts and thank you ^_^

Barlimore and I have been working on a charity fundraiser, we plan on putting it up very soon however we will need a few volunteers to play it/test it to see if there are any bugs/things missing. We'd like to ask that those that volunteer for this do not participate in the fundraiser itself as it would give too much of an unfair advantage, rather it'd be best for those volunteers to moderate it. So, if any of you guys are interested let us know post your names below. We are looking for a group of 6 mods to help out with this testing.
  10. This is to be used to give your thoughts/concerns on the way events are handled, as apposed to suggesting events themselves. For example if in an event you submit a modreq and it seems to be ignored for a very long time you can post your concerns here. Or if you believe not enough advice from the community is making it into the events you can post that concern here. Hopefully this will help us improve events for the future. I hope this topic helps.

Hmm it might even be fun to just put up a map with a spawn, maybe a few villages that could be built through other events, add some supplies here and there and tell people in x days we will have a zombie apocalypse get ready! I do like this idea and aside from plugins it doesn't sound too difficult to organize. The maze idea sounds cool, however we often have mazes built into already existing events, you may remember the last CTF had a maze in it. It wouldn't hurt if we have time to upgrade that mini event and make it a little more interesting next time we use a maze.

  16. The main concern would be to keep streaming things instead of streaming 1 thing then leaving it. We'd need a few committed staff members to use it every week or 2.
  17. Some events people aren't able to join in e.g. a tournament they could have been knocked out of. But are still interested in the game, this however might mean to watch it they have to travel across half the map and so might prefer to watch it get streamed on twitch.
  18. I have been thinking it'd be a good idea to set up a nerd.nu gaming community twitch channel. It would be useful for streaming things such as pvp tournaments, build contests, spleef matches and to some extent it could help us with advertising. I've talked to Barlimore and silversunset a little and a downside to this could be drawing away interest in players to actually go to these events as they can just watch it without travelling anywhere. I'd like to hear some feedback on this, any concerns and also I'd like to have a few names of people that would be willing to stream some videos if we go through with this idea. Thanks ^_^

  21. We have progressed a lot with this and are now really onto the fun stuff. Anyone willing to pop on and build some flowers/ whatever that'd be a huge help!
  22. Personally I'm against making any part of survival pve. One of the main aspects of having spawn as a pvp zone is it adds the element of risk. If you travel down the roads with goods, you are most at risk at spawn as it's where all the roads meet. It could open up some other problems of people running into it to avoid pvp, obviously we could handle that, but it would still be a bother. There are tones of exits around spawn for you to escape, if you don't want to risk the shops at spawn, you can always stick to the auction or just get your materials the vanilla way. There are good arguments for having spawn set to pve but my personal opinion is against it.
  23. I don't think players would be against a command that would sensor chat only for the player that issued the command. If people do complain that people don't want to listen to them swear then I think that's just unreasonable.
