  1. Slide, are you actually serious? Like, you want people to "stop using bold color text" and all that other stuff that "derails or distracts the thread" and then you say stuff like this. We're all a team here, staff or not, and if you're mad, this is not the way to go about it. This here, is plain not nice. From the expectations of staff thread: "When approached by members of the community, all concerns should be treated as genuine concerns, and not brushed off as trivial or drama. If you find that you can not give an answer to their concern, tell them you will find out the answer, or point them to someone who can." Come on slide, I like you. Please don't go mad on me.
  2. There is a thread about up/down vote system, I think we're waiting on a response from that, as the poll was a few weeks ago (2?)
  3. Yeah, I downvoted because he closed the thread with no explanation. I like that he did explain it and I don't really care about screen caps of the admin log, figure these are trustworthy guys (you know if they're head admins and all) so in hindsight down voting was not the best way to go about it (heck I didn't know anyone would make this thread)
  4. Hah, it's been a while c45. If you ever want to play games just hop on mumble and say "hey, anyone want to play some [sample text]?" We have some mumble channels too for other games
  5. I agree with zifnab on the not knowing thing - the logs show if people have tried to log in after being banned, so they can tell if the person knows or not in theory
  6. one time I was playing bagpipes and the pizza guy knocked on the door. I tried to make it as subtle as possible but the guy was like "...Were you playing bagpipes?"
  7. Must have been one hell of a reason. I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to switch accounts permanently, but I guess if the head admins are ok with it then I am too
  8. It's fine that you're switching accounts or whatever, but I'd consider an account with 3 characters a novelty. Just saying they're hard to come by
  9. I agree with this. Why do you need to switch your account anyways? I see almost no point in buying another account and then stop using the original one. That would be like me buying the last of us, then turning up the quality and FPS and buying it again for $60, only to never play the original again!
  10. Why does no requirements bother you? They don't just pick anybody. It's kind of like when the high-ups in the Catholic Church (for example) decide who would become the next pope, they already have somewhat of an idea. Also, about the spoof forum accounts created simply for polling, you can tell right on their page when people made the account, and IPs on the forums are also trackable. So in theory, if I made the forum account "eosFxx" or something, and voted on who I wanted to become moderator, then there would be sufficient punishment and that vote would not be counted somehow.
  11. 1. The thread was used as an example, there are certainly more threads than those where bickering and such occurred. 2. I'd say nerd is a pretty welcoming place, but I do agree that the regular players should be involved in the nomination somehow. 3. We do the same thing - if the mods/admins vote yes on a moderator, they have the option to explain why. Not many do it anymore but it's there. 4. I don't think he's saying that we can't make adequate decisions. Also this particular player (IMO) has a strong hold on what the community is. Moderators do not have special powers over regular players outside of modreqs. They are not "above" us and we are not "below" them. They don't get any special blocks to use in-game outside of mod requests. 5. I'm sorry that player can't become moderator like you want, but you are a fairly new player if memory serves me well, and the people who are able to withhold such positions (or at least part of the reason why they are chosen by staff) is because they put a consistent amount of time into the servers for a long period of time. 6. Politicians have a say in the voting of other politicians, at least in the United States... it's not like they're barred from voting simply because they work for the government? That's like saying when I start working for the FDA in a few years I won't be able to eat FDA approved food or something.
  12. Furthermore, did you apply to faZe?
  13. It's bezkr.es/pveseen so I'm not sure why we can't use this in-game either
  14. That's what I figured. In the post "we can revisit the idea of cool downs in the future" but they should have let us know
  15. Yeah they decided not to add a cool down, then they did for seemingly no reason. I think that is what he was getting at
  16. BUMP. Feel free to ask bagpipes and pun questions
  17. This could be a great idea. We'd certainly get more players if we were more noticeable there.
  18. I believe this is the case, as multiple people have been banned from (knowingly) using items gained through illegal means. Leaving out names here.
  19. This is a good point. Isn't one of our key values that no one is really at an advantage over anyone else? I've pointed this out before but mods/admins really only have powers for modreqs and other business that a normal player would not be trusted with. e.g. They don't get special blocks and the player with the most hours doesn't spawn in with diamonds the next rev, and so on.Edit: accidentally downvoted the post
  20. I like this one actually, good for data collection n stuff. I was also thinking having a command like /playtime so one can see it in-game (but keep the website too)
  21. I think X-Ray texture packs would still work and also the redstone block / fence glitch.
