Narissis
Speakers: Logitech Z-5500 I found it, UNP! The thing we have in common! Amazing speakers for what they cost.
UNP
I found it, UNP! The thing we have in common! Amazing speakers for what they cost. Oh for sure. I'm actually on my second control pod, the first one got the "Detecting..." bug where it locks up and won't take any inputs. At that point it's basically dead. Logitech replaced the pod free of charge, even though it was out of warranty, and I didn't even need to return the first one. I've been really happy with them. The ones that came after, the Z-906's, are shit.
Narissis
I actually had the exact same issue with mine! And same resolution; Logitech support is A+ Though the backlight is dead in my control pod now. First world problems.
Silversunset01
I have a 2009 15" MacBook Pro with an additional 23" monitor. Only thing I've done do it is upgrade to 8gb of ram and install Yosemite. Battery died so I have to keep it plugged in to use it So it's essentially a desktop :) /s all worship the apple
S_W
Narissis and UNP, I've owned those speakers too and have gotten warranty replacements for various reasons. This left me with 3 sets of speakers and one control pod. I ended up making my own splitter for the control pod and ran 3 sets off of one pod. It was glorious! If you guys got to keep your speakers from the other set, then I suggest looking into this. I've now changed to a different set with a bit better SQ but less volume, but I will always remember the ridiculousness of the Z5500. These speakers also have a great resale value. I sold them all as a giant set f Processor: Intel i7 2600K OC to 4.4GHz CPU Cooler: Prolimatech Megahalems Rev.B CPU Cooler Cooling: (6) Scythe SY1225SL12SH 120mm fans (Ridiculous airflow) Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 1333MHz 8GB Motherboard: AsRock Fatal1ty Z68 Professional Gen3 Graphics: MSI R7950 Twin Frozr 3GB Speakers: Klipsch Promedia 4.1 Case: Antec Three Hundred Monitor: (2) Samsung 23" LED Montiors OS: Windows 7 64-bit Storage: 128GB Corsair M4 Storage: 500 GB for Games and Applications Storage: 1.5 TB for TV Show Backup Storage: 2 TB for TV Shows Storage: 3TB for Movie Backup Storage: 4TB for Movies
Narissis
I actually do have a second set of the speakers. I'd had a third, but sold it to a friend.
UNP
I still have the original set of speakers/subwoofer that I started with. Only the control pod was faulty, so that's what they replaced. I was able to diagnose the fault and determine that the woofer and speakers were totally ok.
S_W
Ya only shitty thing is that if the control pod and the subwoofer are a different PID then none of your Dolby settings will work. So Stereo x2 and Stereo were the only settings that worked for sets that had different PIDs. I made my own cable, but I'm sure you can buy one online somewhere specifically for this. Just be careful since you could fry your control pod if the cable isn't made to do it properly.

Yeah see, I did hear that, but the pod they sent me works perfectly with the initial set of speakers, even though the backlighting on the new pod (and a few smaller details) is distinctly different, and I'm pretty sure the pod is a newer model than the one I started with. Still does DTS and DD just as good as the initial one.
