  1. You were banned for constructing a piston door that not only circumvented WorldGuard road protections, but effectively created an indestructible door through the abuse of the protection. As seen in the following screenshots, the two smooth stone blocks are pushed into the WG region (the red wireframe outline) by two sticky pistons. When they're in that grassy 4-block corner, the blocks can not be broken by any player, as they are in the road protection. When the pistons are retracted, they're moved back outside of the region. The ban length would have been two weeks in this case, but you've well exceeded that duration. So please review the rules and respond with the text of the one(s) you broke, and you will be unbanned.
  2. Cailin, I downgraded MtGox to "hell no" status long ago. :P Not long before the big shutdown.
  3. For starters, server alert with the name. I don't think we have one yet?
  4. On June 5th, Survival will switch over to chaos mode and Rev 24 will draw to a close. Chaos will run until the 7th, with a new map to come shortly after. (Stay tuned for further details.)
  5. That's not necessarily uncommon. To immigrate to most countries, you have to be able to understand their language. I doubt you'd be considered as a candidate for immigration in, say, Sweden or France, if you didn't learn the local language. (And if you're just visiting, it only makes sense to do so...)
  6. LadyCailin would be the one to talk to about that. There are plenty of markets, which all have constantly fluctuating values like any commodity exchange. Not sure which are the more reliable, though. I probably would have said MtGox before, based on them arguably being the largest and most popular, but they kind of...had all of the BitCoin they were entrusted with stolen. It seems like it might be worth offering at least. When you're asking for money, might as well make it as convenient and interesting to potential donors. Might get some donations from people who are just dying to spent Bit/Doge coin somewhere.
  7. This seems like a good idea to me. If we're going to solicit content from players, though, we should probably work out some guidelines for what gets approved or rejected.
  8. All I see is this. Looks like it's coming along great. Any thoughts on ore stuff? I vaguely recall that being a sticky issue last time.
  9. Kitcat, you should put that crayon drawing on your fridge. Looks good to me. Of course, making the terrain harder doesn't necessarily make late-game caps harder. Last time, my team built a tunnel for faster traveling. We'd come out a hidden door not far from the enemy base, steal the flag, and vanish underground. Also, I came up with an idea for a mean trick. For whatever reason, I've had TNTrees on my mind lately. Could put a few in around the mixed forests for some amusing chaos at the beginning of the event. (Player punches tree, TNT goes boom.)
  10. How dare you, good sir! I challenge you to a duel.
  11. I like playing CTF, but I'd feel bad about not helping out with modreqs. :)
  12. I think, for the 5th anniversary, it would be prudent to stick to CTF. It's popular, we're familiar with it and the usual problems that may surface, and it should be easier to get it done on time. Buchanman's game might be better for sometime later on, when there's less of a deadline situation. I'm also in favor of the 48-hour event. It provides more time to play if someone has to miss out on a larger part for one reason or another. I don't know if that'll be necessary or not? Where there concerns before with moderators accidentally/intentionally committing espionage by modreq? I'd think we have enough moderators to keep up with flow reqs. (Otherwise I suppose we could limit it to admins and all be a little less involved with team strategy.)
  13. Given that you just came off of a one-year ban for x-raying, and that it was stated that "future infractions will come with a much harsher punishment due to past actions," I'm setting the ban length for two years. You may appeal on May 5th, 2016.

Not only were the two accounts never online at the same time, but they frequently switched off with each other, one logging off and the other logging in minutes later. Items were shared through a password-protected chest registered in your name. You supplied gear for enslime to use to mine, and made use of the illegitimately acquired goods. Enslime was even waiting next to the chest before it was created, ready to access it. Even if enslime is, in fact, operated by another individual, this is still a case of group x-raying and both accounts merit the same ban for the misconduct. You facilitated and profited from the x-ray. x-ray edits Diamonds...up a few blocks and behind a stone wall. Another crossroads. [continued]
  15. You are correct that this is about the didgeridoo thing. You left out the part where you asked if you could nickname him "didgeridoo," after learning that his accent was South Australian. You made a series of comments involving didgeridoos, despite being told multiple times that it was offensive. (That's a hell of a first impression to make on a new player...) Besides that particular incident, you also harassed DammitRichard until he left Mumble. (I believe you repeatedly called him a "terrible person" in the joking fashion that has been common lately, despite his sounding noticeably upset and telling you to stop multiple times.) Though you did apologize when he came back, which is something I suppose. You may re-appeal on May 7th, stating the rule that you broke. The Mumble ban will be lifted then.
  16. Our ban system is global across the servers, though. So a hardcore deathban would ban you from the other servers. :P
  17. This past CTF event was two teams. It worked out well.
  18. "Flow" is probably more apt for S and P. But I'm not really for different sorting. Chronological works for me.
  19. That's true, but I thought Mark4 was still being developed, albeit sporadically? Conceivably the same functionality would exist in that, when/if it's released?
  20. Remember that nifty little bot called IAmARelayBotAMA? The one that relayed in-game chat from the servers to the #redditmc-s, #redditmc-p and #redditmc-c, IRC channels? After its untimely demise (due to Minecraft 1.7 and BungeeCord), we lost this useful feature. (It's great for getting IRC pings when you or another keyword are mentioned in-game.) As it turns out, the server wrapper we use (Mark2) has a feature that can handle this in a more elegant manner. This came up in an IRC conversation awhile back, and it was discussed a little. It would work in the same manner: in-game public chat would be sent to an IRC channel (though the reverse would not be allowed, for obvious reasons). Denevien mentioned to me last night that the techs have tested this, and that all we need to go ahead is for the server admins to agree on it. Which is why I'm starting this thread. I already talked it over with Mrloud and Mumberthrax, and they're okay with it, so I'd like to get the padmins' and cadmins' opinions on the matter.
  21. Yes, that would be okay. But if you used that account to, for example, attack the campers or lure them into a trap, it would be against the rules.
