  1. I think it would be cool if we did a revision that is similar to how Rev 11's map was laid out. The first 0-1500 blocks would be normal/mild terrain, but then the further you went out the crazier it got, so that evnentually around 2500/3000 you have batshit cool looking terrain. You can generate the map in 1.7 and then use it in 1.9. That's how I did this revisions nether. I generated it in 1.8 since I didnt have 1.9 TC and then put it on the server.

  3. Ahoy lads! I am happy to announce the first admin hunt of Revision 18! It will be taking place on Saturday once speedbuild on C finishes at roughly **10PM EST**. We will also be hosting a second round the following morning to accompany those folks in a different timezone at **12PM EST**. Saturday Event Date and Time Converter Sunday Event Date and Time Converter Each admin will be carrying a different prize for players to collect, who knows what they'll be carrying when you kill them. The **livemap** will become available later this week so that you can use it to help bring those pesky admins down! Before the hunt begins on Saturday our first **blog post** will be going up with details on future events, skeleton horses, and some other things. It should give some insight into our plans for PvE.   4. Hey folks, just a quick poll for PvE. Currently skeleton horses are spawning like crazy everywhere and if a thunerstorm happens then god help us. Being only a week into the revision and having over 500 horses on the map, most of which are skeleton horses is a problem. It affects server tps and preformance as well as client preformance if you are nearby. Would you be okay with us preventing skeleton horse spawning or drastically limiting it to help reduce lag?   7. Padmin chiming in! Now padmin leaving! Joking aside, we have been watching this thread and been discussing it among ourselves and with the techs. The general consensus so far is that we like the idea, but no promises it will happen right away for next Rev. We shall see though.
  8. To make sure I am understanding correctly, you are wanting fully usable TNT in regions that you are in? I'll pester the padmins later today about this.
  9. As some of you may have noticed I was absent on the PvE Admin Hunt on Friday so I figured it'd be good to post here and give a heads up on my activity. I am currently preforming a kitchen remodel as well as going through finals at school. My activity levels have been rather low lately because of it. With a potential new PvE Rev coming up soon any Minecraft time is being spent on it so I will not be very active in game.
  10. The problem with this is that there are only so many nether mobs which limits the variety. Perhaps add multiple types of zombie pigmen, such as a fast one, tanky one, and heavy damage dealing one? As for glowstone trees, perhaps different sizes of them would be good? Or maybe including another block besides glowstone in them?
  11. Hey everyone, I am looking for feedback and suggestions on what you guys would like to see in the custom nether next rev. The feedback in the Rev 17 Feedback thread on the forums was helpful but I’d like to get some more in-depth thoughts and ideas. There were a lot of requests for more variety in biomes however I need some biome ideas. What kind of biomes would you like to see? Another request was for better loot chests and fixed nether fortress chests. Unfortunately I am not certain I will be able to fix nether fortress chests. I am debating removing nether forts all together as they were in the ground and somewhat buggy anyway. Would you guys like to see some sort of custom dungeon with spawners or mobs placed instead? Perhaps some sort of protected structure that you can loot mobs from? Open to any other ideas too! Mob spawning had mixed feedback. Some people like the variety of mobs while others didn’t. Would you guys like to see the nether more dangerous with harder custom mobs that drop loot in addition to regular mobs? I hope to make next Rev’s nether the best yet and would love to hear ideas of what you guys can provide!   12. That is the problem I have always had with them. What is the purpose of putting them into the map if they are just going to be kept privately away from everyone else? While we could do this, I feel like this would kill the appeal a bit of custom spawners. Part the reason they are so unique and special is because there are only one of them in the entire map. If we start adding more of them it takes away from the one being special and they loose your appeal. What fun would it be to say "Whiteoak found and built the only creeper spawner on the server!" if there is another one build by someone else on the other side of the map. Iron grinders are so easy to get for the first few levels that almost any small group of players could get there own. If a group of players want to invest the time and resources for a better iron grinder, especially if we increase the cost of them for next rev, they should be able to keep most if not all of it's output. As for the End Grinder, I'd say that that's a special case. You can build more of them but as you stated it is better to have just one. Is this something we want/should to regulate as padmins?
  13. I thought I put my opinion in this thread already but apparently I didn't. This is just my opinion and not the views of the padmin team. We hope to have something much clearer laid out for next rev. To me there are 2 types of grinders and spawners. The first are the ones that you can pretty much find anywhere, such as Skeleton Spawners, Gaurdian Temples, Zombie Spawners, etc. They are very common throughout the map and there are often multiple grinders all over the place. These types of spawners and grinders I don't think we should care if they are private or public. If someone wants to use a skeleton grinder in a mob maze or instead make it a grinder, it's up to them. They found it, and there are so many of them they should be able to decide what to do with them. There are so many of them that it's not worth the energy trying to enforce that every one of them be public. The second type is the custom spawners that we place around the map. The witch spawner, creeper spawner, slime spawner, etc. There are only 1 of each spawner. Since they are special and they are only one of a kind I feel that they should be public. The design of the grinder and style is up to the person that found it, but it ultimately has to be public. If we let people keep a custom spawner to themselves they pretty much have a monopoly on that resource. Sure you can go kill creepers in the wild, or you can guy buy a chestfull from the guy with the spawner. Everyone should be able to have access and use the special spawners as that's there purpose. We add them to the server for everyone to use and share, not for one or two people, or even a town, hoard the spawner to themselves. For those of you unaware, last rev we had planned on keeping the slime grinder private to ourselves for a week or two before announcing it. Forever_Steve found out and make a shitstorm out of us trying to keep it to ourselves and hoard/sell all the resources and have a monopoly on it. I don't want another instance of that as it's not healthy for the environment of the server.

  19. CSS theme is live on the subreddit! Had some issues crop up with the new flairs mixing with the old flairs that I couldn't replicate in my test subreddit. However I was able to fix them after quite a bit of messing around. There will be a few more minor changes over the next week or so regarding flair changes and some image modifications, but aside from that were good. If you guys have any feedback or suggestions please feel free to let me know. @redwall_hp: I was unable to reproduce that bug both in my test subreddit and now on mcpublic.

  22. Hey guys, I've been messing around lately with reddit CSS and decided I would try my hand at giving us a more modern looking subreddit theme as well as cleaning up the side bar. This is what I have completed so far (minus the sidebar, still working on that): https://www.reddit.com/r/SwitchView/ I'm curious on everyone's thoughts and whether or not they would like to see it used on the subreddit? One thing I really like about this theme is that we can rotate out the picture at the top and can use images that are taken by the players. I was also hoping that with this new theme we could really put the subreddits flair to use for identifying server admins and contest winners.

  24. You! That's right, you! Come on down for a once in a lifetime deal! We got a fresh shipment of padmins in just this morning and they are ready for a slaughterin! Unfortunately these chumps are slippery and managed to escape out of the shipment boxes and are now running wildly throughout the PvE Server! That's right folks! The first Admin Hunt of PvE Revision 17 is this saturday at 10:15PM EST! The padmins have special prizes to be dropped upon death and rumor has it that a wild tech admin or cadmin may join in on the fun! Hope to see you all chasing me!
