  1. I like the returning staff policy but I have some concerns about the inactive policy part. As mentioned above, a 2 week period of inactiveness seems incredibly short. We would be spitting out staff left and right if this were put into place. One of my biggest concerns about the policy above is that it in no way defines what the responsibilities of certain staff are and the activity levels required for them. Such as: Server Admins: Must be active in game regularly on there server, must be actively completing modreqs and adminreqs Tech Admins: Must be actively contributing to a project, must be active on Trello Now those are just examples, but it defines what each group should be doing and where they should be active. Right now it just says "as long as they do there responsibilities and are not inactive for 2 weeks." What are the responsibilities and what should they be doing? What are we considering "inactive?"
  2. I have created a whenisgood link for next week. If you are interested in attending please fill it out and we will have a date announced by sunday. http://whenisgood.net/m9ifye9
  3. Alright so if you attended tonight's chat you will know how much of a disaster it was. The usual group of people trolled and completely derailed any possible discussion. I'm not going to give up however as I think this is a good line for communication. We also need to get notifications out on the servers for this. For the next chat I intend to introduce a set of rules as I'm not going to deal with there bullshit. If they wish to not adhere to these rules, I will warn them, and if they proceed, I will ban them. This somewhat goes against how we ban people as we like to give lots of warnings first, but frankly I'm not going to deal with it. The set of rules are simple and are as follows: - No trolling or purposeful derailing of topics - No constantly harassing of staff for a reply - Be polite and respectful to other members and staff I originally didn't want to have to do this as I wanted chats to be laidback and kind of a "just hanging out" sort of deal. After this last chat though I'm going to take steps to fix it.
  4. c45y and I had a conversation earlier today about this in IRC and it clarifies some things about my proposal. In case anyone missed it, you can read the conversation here: http://pastebin.com/Lyn7vLe3
  5. As buzzie71 said, there might not be much demand because it has never been a feature before. With all the events P players host I could definitely see some of them taking advantage of this. "...current process of working with server admins is no longer optimal." - I am not sure what you mean by this? What current process? For tech admins there is most definitely more important things to do, but for just Idea A it would not require your assistance there. I'm not sure what else would be a higher priority besides another fundraiser or getting E up, both of which don't impact this much.
  6. After thinking about this for some time and discussing it with the heads and other staff members I'd like to scrap what I proposed for a different idea. I have 2 ideas that I think would work, both are similar but slightly different. I personally prefer idea B but I am curious of everyone else's thoughts. Idea A: Instead of doing a lengthy process and having users fill out a form it will be much simpler. Players can approach the server admins or event admins with an event they would like to host, and assuming it isn't anything breaking any rules, we would be happy to supply minimal moderation tools to help them with the event. The tools would be all carried out by staff members. The tools we would provide would be: Broadcasting: A staff member would give one or two broadcasts in /o or /broadcast before the event starts announcing it to the server. We would then grant a few announcements during the event for information and one for the conclusion. The amount of broadcast uses can be determined by the individual server admin groups. Teleporting: We would provide very short range teleportation, such as teleporting from a respawn room with beds to a spectator box. The only acception to short range teleports would be if there is a PvP Event, and for some reason a bed was not set, we would teleport them from spawn to the bed. All of this is subject to individual server admins as each server handles this differently, but this is the general idea. EasySigns: We would place down protected signs for players to use in there event with EasySign features, such as colored text or announcing. The featuers players can use for EasySigns would be determined by the server admins for there server. Idea B: A different idea that I had was to introduce a new plugin to the servers for events. This would allow people to schedule an event and have it announced by the plugin a day in advance or a few hours in advance. It would act sort of like a "in game calendar" where people can view all upcoming events, past events, schedule events, designated staff member for the event, and various other things. This idea would incorporate all the things mentioned in Idea A but would have the plugin as an addition to it.

  13. How does 8:00PM EDT / 5:00 PM PST sound to everyone?
  14. We are currently working on a time and I hope to have it announced by tomorrow.
  15. Avadakedavra mentioned in the notes topic if there was a recording was available. Perhaps in future meetings it would be a good idea to have someone record and upload them to our youtube?
  16. Recent Channel Changes: Dirty Bomb added under Gaming GeoGuesser removed Traversing the Borderlands removed Europa Universalis removed Open Mic renamed to Karaoke Bar Detention removed SportsBall renamed to Sports DOTA2 removed LoL removed
  17. I have moved the main server spawn and the admin world spawn next to the large tree. I have also whitelisted all admins and a handful of mods (after awhile I got tired typing all the names :P). If your not whitelisted let a admin know and we'll add you.
  18. The entire point of being in an admin position is to gather feedback and thoughts from the community. As you are aware, I am the only Event Admins and I only have so many ideas. The community is full of hundreds of people who all have there own ideas. I don't think it would be fair to the community to simply use only my ideas and events. We are a community! That's why I made this topic. I do have ideas for prizes but I also want to know what ideas the community has.
  19. In the beginning months of being in the position I did not display this attitude a whole lot due to school finishing and right after my family having puppies. I did not have much free time in May due to finals and spent time that I had on the Fundraiser. For the last 2 months (June/May), in May I did not have a lot of free time due to finals and spent what I had on the Fundraiser (and a bit of TF2). In early June I spent a majority of my time watching our new puppies and taking summer classes. I also spend time pestering other admins to get our game expansion going To expand on the "getting things done attitude" for the future, in the past week I have done multiple things for this regard. As you are aware, I have completed restructuring of E and waiting on techs to get it set up. Once E is ready to go, I will be announcing a building contest. I have also introduced and worked on getting Mumble Fireside Chats going. I have also created 2 new topics asking for community feedback as well as started work on a TF2 event. A CSGO Event is also ready to roll out once our server is ready. While I may not have displayed this attitude in the past I have been recently trying to work on improving that. I have ran 2 'major' events so far, those being the Fundraiser and Lobby Design Contest #2. I have assisted smaller events and helped with planning of Speed Building and Survival Arenas. As for future events, there is currently 2 'major' events in the works (one of which is the second fundraiser) and 2 smaller build contest events. I am also working on 1 CSGO Event as well as 2 TF2 Events.
  20. Hey their everyone, I would like to open a brainstorm to the community on what we could do for prizes for events. In the past we have done subreddit flair, builds used in events, minor ingame awards, and a few other things I am probably forgetting. With the recent thread being against using money to fund prizes I am wondering what other prizes you might be able to come up with.
  21. Looks like the majority of people are against this idea and that is exactly why I wanted to open up this question to the community. I don't usually like to close a topic so soon after it just starting but support seems to be mostly against it. I will leave this thread open for further feedback and thoughts but at this time we will not be moving forward with this idea. We will however still use any gift cards and games donated by members out of pocket.
  22. I think this is a good idea. My only concern though is that if we do this every friday we are asking a lot of our staff. Perhaps if we went with this tructure, it'd be better to do these biweekly or once a month?
  23. I'm looking for any staff member that is interested.
  24. I think I worded it wrong. We would not being giving them "cash" directly. It would be things like Steam Gift Cards or a copy of Battlefront 3.
